I had the same issue for our January cruise. I called and was able to make reservations directly for each night of the cruise (main dining rooms and specialty).

We plan to try the Texas Smokehouse one evening and wondered if the music is at a certain time or goes throughout the open hours. We've heard mixed reviews on the food but enjoy country music and would like to eat there one evening. Trying to decide on the time. Thanks.

We'll be doing a whale watching excursion in Cabo and would like to find a place that is an easy walk from the tenders to get a snack and margarita before boarding the ship. Do any places have music in the afternoons? Thanks.

I haven't been on yet, but from what I've read, you can use the Starbucks app to make purchases. No cash taken. I bought a gift card and loaded it on my app to make it easy.

That's really nice of you to want to volunteer while you are there. I don't know if there are any opportunities but wondered if you've watched the Netflix movie, Blue Miracle, which is based on the true story of an orphanage in Cabo called Casa Hogar. You should watch the movie and maybe try to look it up online. Good luck!

We stayed at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale Airport/Dania Beach a year ago. There were a few other hotels in that area, too, and it was convenient to both the airport and cruise port. They had a shuttle from the airport (complementary).

I'm not a coffee drinker but I love my chai lattes. Anyone know if the Starbucks has those? I don't see it on the menu. Thanks.

Thank you for the clarification. We have already booked the penthouse suite and will see if it was worth the extra cost. The increased space will be nice and I like the location. That's unfortunate that they have discontinued some of the perks.

We will be on the Joy in December and are making reservations for dining and excursions online. I was able to make a reservation for the Manhattan dining room for one night but no other nights. I also thought there were other main dining rooms, Savor and Taste, but don't see them under dining options. Thanks for any information.

We'll be cruising on New Years Eve and wondered who has done a New Years cruise before and what was special about it? Are Christmas decorations still up? Do people dress more formally this night? I'm sure there is a big party at midnight. Hopefully we can manage to stay awake since we'll be changing time zones from the east coast!

We decided to take a taxi to the Zona Romantica area and walk around in the morning after getting off the ship. Will places be open at 9AM? Is there a specific street you'd recommend for walking? Is it level and easy to walk around? Appreciate any suggestions for shops, markets, restaurants, things to say in that area. Also, are there any other nearby places we should have our taxi drive by or to before we head back to the ship? Thank you.

We are looking at our options for getting from the east coast to LA for our cruise and wondered if we should consider flying to Long Beach instead of LAX. It would mean changing planes once instead of a non-stop flight to LAX so want to get opinions on if it would be worth it to avoid LAX. I assume it's a quicker, less expensive taxi ride for one thing. Appreciate any feedback.

We are planning a cruise on the Joy and saw someone mention needing to make reservations for the shows. I've never had to make reservations for shows before and wanted to know more about this. Is it just for the big production shows in the theater or for comedians, music in other venues too? It sounded like there wasn't a charge for them. Do you make reservations before you get on the ship and is there a chance you wouldn't be able to see a show? I hope not.

Considering booking a Mexican Riviera cruise on the Joy but confused to the stateroom categories. Comparing the penthouse suite with balcony with the club balcony suite. I'm assuming the penthouse suite is larger and I can get a mid-ship cabin. Are there other perks I'm missing? Thank you.

We have been on Princess, Norwegian, Crystal, and Celebrity before but are considering Oceania. We like the smaller passenger size but wonder how the activities and entertainment compare with larger ships. We enjoy trivia, game shows, classes, comedians, magicians, movies, singers, and so on. No need for water parks, rock climbing and that type activity. Thanks for your input.
