  1. I dialed the same "wrong number" as the op a couple of weeks ago. When I realized it wasn't Carnival I hung up on them.

Unfortunately' date=' I forgot to jot down the number I called. Do you still have it? Maybe you could report it to Carnival and they can have it gotten rid of.[/quote']

I first dialed 800-765-7419 when I meant to dial 800-764-7419.

  2. A few years ago, I upgraded to a guarantee balcony. My room was assigned about 2 or 3 weeks before the cruise. I was very happy.

Just yesterday, I switched my military rate to the 12 hour sale which required letting Carnival select my room. The savings was $70 each for me and my friend. We decided the savings was worth the risk. We have our fingers crossed for a slight upgrade. We'll see.

  3. I learned about the 12 hour sale and after discussing it with my travel partner we decided to switch our booking and save $70 a person.

I went to the carnival site and dialed the number listed. The recording started off with a survey which was different than my previous experiences but I answered the survey. It next said that as a thank you for completing the survey I would get a free cruise. At this point, I'm a lil skeptical. So a man comes on the phone to start telling me about my cruise aboard the Grand Celebration (or something like that). I'm really confused now so I look at the number I dialed compared to the number on the website. I accidentally dialed a number 1 digit off from Carnival and ended up with Celebration or some company claiming to represent them. I'm really not sure because I hung up while the guy was speaking.

Just wanted to make people aware that there are companies that evidently purposely use numbers similar to carnival in hopes that you misdial.

After hanging up, I reached carnival and switched booking categories. We're now in a guarantee room but at a $70 savings per person we're willing to risk it.

    Happy Cruising.

  4. Just wondering if the Valor has the side bonus bet on Three Card Poker!!! Thanks and Happy cruising to all

are you talking about pair plus on the bet on the 6 cards (yours and dealers).

    Pair plus, yet.

6 card bonus, they didn't have it 2011. I haven't seen it on any cruise ship.

  5. Thank you! They offered to fix it, I just want to make sure of my best option first. Thanks!

If they offered to fix it, I'd take them up on that. That way up until final payment if you need to cancel you just cancel and get a refund. Insurance would be used if you needed to cancel after final payment.

  6. Am I missing something here? I took this post as a perfect joke with showing the boxed water as a carry on (and no one would). The answers I'm seeing show no humor as if you meant it.:)

I was thinking the same thing. I posted it as a joke after coming across the pic on Facebook. Guess I needed some type of emoticon to get the point across.

  7. no, she cannot apply it to this cruise. With Early Saver, she will get 50 of her deposit refunded to her, and the rest of the deposit will be a credit she can use within 24 months on herself. There is one exception that i have found, i paid the deposit for someone else(an ex)in my cabin that had to cancel, i had to fill the form out, and prove with my bank statement, that i paid the deposit. Then they did transfer that credit to me, for a future cruise credit. So, is someone else paid her deposit, and can prove it, that is how it would work. But i was not allowed to use it on the same cruise.

She won't get $50 refunded. $50 is the penalty that Carnival keeps. the rest is held as a credit to be used later.

  8. Just checked my cruise points this morning and noticed I was only given single points on my 10 night solo cruise on the Legend of the Seas two weeks ago. I called C&A and they fixed my points immediately. Solo traveler's don't forget to review your points when their applied. Thank you C&A for the quick and friendly fix!

Same thing happened to me after my February cruise. I emailed C&A and it was fixed in about 4 days.

  9. I got a very nice replay from RCCL and wanted to share:

None of us have gotten an email on the Harmony nor information is posted on the Crown and Anchor page.

I called just to find out you have to call in and do not know when the Caribbean would be release.

    Response:

We apologize for the confusion. The booking window for Crown & Anchor guests opens on March 31st, and the Winter Caribbean itineraries open on April 2nd. We hope this information helps.

Is there a link to see the sailings? I'm a member of c&a but don't know where to find the sailings.

  10. Greetings,

I had the a similar situation happen to me yesterday... I was told the answer was an emphatically "NO." I guess I'll have to call back. Was told the reason I couldn't do it, is because the certificate was assigned to a TA. (Don't know how or why that happened...) He said that I had to book with that TA to get the OBC.

I've read on this board that if you book a cruise with a TA and then buy a certificate on the cruise, the new cruise is automatically assigned to the same TA. I booked my recent cruise myself so I "owned" the certificate booking also.

  11. They finally got it done but after receiving the email I see it wasn't done quite right.

They still ended up charging me the increased base fare (not the fare I had on hold) but the taxes and fees were less so it's $27 more than the cruise I had on courtesy hold. I'm not sure I'll bother calling back. It took 40 minutes to get this one booked so I don't know if I want to invest the time to call back. In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal.

    Thanks for

  12. Hi

I am hoping some people will be able to help me I have just booked a 7 night cruise on adventure of the sea leaving San Juan 14th May 2016 travelling to the South Caribbean. There are 4 couples travelling together and we are all first time cruisers, we have the basic drinks package included along with my time dining but will need lots of hints and tips to get the best out of this holiday

Since your cruise is over a year away, I think you will learn all need to know gradually and naturally just by coming to the board on a regular basis. No need to take a crash course.

  13. On hold with Royal right now.

I have a future cruise certificate with a booking number. I placed a courtesy hold on a cruise that has a different booking number. I'm trying to book the cruise by transferring the courtesy hold to the certificate number.

That's possible right? agent seems to be having trouble.

I can't just book a new room because the price has already gone up so I have to have the courtesy hold cruise to get the lower price.

    Does that make sense? Thanks.

  14. Ya your right Manage my cruises duu :D

Of course they keep track, how would they know that we became Diamond in Oct ? :)

I know they keep track of your cruises but I meant in the sense that "this particular person just hit 1000 nights on the same ship, plan something".
