I would bet there are as many on CC that have already rebooked (or have multiple bookings) on Seaside, as there are the few '1 and done' folks that wanted a walmart/cookie cutter cruise.
NM ... :D:D

The first post appears to be made up from contributions by previous posters and I doubt that the person who added it has been anywhere near the ship.
As for those shouting bring back Divina, to my knowledge the ship still sails out of Miami until it heads back to Europe.
Why would people go on Seaside and expect it to be like Divina, clearly they are people who have not done their homework on the ship.
-
Yes you really do have to wonder about it.
-
The number of complaints on these boards are miniscule compared to the numbers who cruise on any given cruise ship, sadly there are people who go looking for trouble and are the kind of people to find it.
Of the small number of complainers on this one MSC board it appears that not very many actually took the issue of any kind of smell up with any of the senior officers on the Seaside! but then come here to complain about it.
-
I wonder when the worlds complainers will ever give up ? I cannot ever recall anywhere on a cruise board where people had so much to complain about over so little!
-
Do you have links to comment from the first cruise either T.A or Inaugural where the smell is mentioned ?
-
It may well be that MSC have listened to feed back regarding the Marketplace, it may also be that the ship is not full and so deck 16 is not needed.
Time will tell and as the spring break holidays come around we will see if this reverts back.
-
If you are on deck 9 forward wider balcony no reason why not, 14 and 15 I doubt you would have much chance.
-
One thing that appears to be clear is that not all posters are smelling sewage smells as has been claimed.
-
I have no idea, I was just passing on the info from Vincent Gerrard who got off the ship yesterday and mentioned that they had moved to Deck 8 from 16 and that 16 is now closed in the evenings.
Clearly MSC are listening to customers.
-
Just read on FB from a French poster who has just been on Seaside that the Market place buffet is now open in the evening as well as one side being used as the third Dining room.
Deck 16 buffet now closed in the evenings.

UK website prices are £60 for two devices and £90 for four devices.

The only things European about it are the company name and the way things are done.

Just to add a little balance to this discussion, I contacted a senior manager within the house keeping department who says that sleeping on balconies is not permitted by msc, nor would they allow anyone to do it.
It is quite odd though how people can become somewhat obsessed by a smell.
-
People are sailing on an Italian ship, if its more American food that people require then there are plenty of other cruise lines that they can choose from.
-
Sounds like while the Cat is away the mice will play seeing as the Housekeeping Manager had to return home due to illness. Maybe the stand in is not doing a good job.

It has not been fixed as of March 3 our rooms smelled so bad had to sleep with the balcony doors open the whole trip so sleeping was rough temps 90s this was hands down the worst cruise I have ever been on. They did offer me 25% refund I told them not good enough considering they knew about the smell from the first sailing and have yet to fix the problem and they just keep sailing on like nothing is wrong. My wife and daughter actually slept out on the balcony a couple nights because the smell was so bad. Me I would have to say this ship is a health risk
I have read through the whole thread and this puzzles me somewhat, the ship sails at around 20/21 knots overnight but there is no mention of your wife and daughter being covered in sea spray and salt from sleeping on the balcony ?

There is a video of 12001 not sure if it is the same as the one you will be in.
-
Remember that part, though we had to dock at the side on a Princess ship due to a Royal ship being where the Carnival one is. Can just make out the beach of Margaritaville on the right side of the photo.

Did our check in a few months ago, believe we will get our edocs from our travel agent two weeks before sailing.

Not posted for a long time but will be sailing on Seaside in the very near future, I manged to find a video our cabin on youtube, looks like it will be great.
-
Yes we have seen the Aft pool filled to the Glass screens, the Spa staff were training in it on the Aqua bikes the night that we were also on the receiving end of the pool water pouring down onto the Aft balconies. further nights they were training the pool had been drained down below the top level of the pool.
The pictures we have were taken from the cabin TV which shows the pool overfilled 9but not great quality) others show the staff training with a lower water level.
The pool was never totaly filled again after that apart from when moored in Miami!
-
Pete thanks for that, don`t you just love the Meerkats.

Most cruise lines it seems send their newest ship to a new port such as Allure and Oasis and Royal Princess to FLL and NCL Epic to Miami.
So why was Divina sent to Miami and not Preziosa which is the newest ship in the MSC fleet.
Does anyone have any thoughts on it ?

I would hazard a guess that the Butlers are working against MSC policy and it leaves them open to being disciplined or sacked if found out!
