  1. I would also like to know others experience.

We have an 11.15am flight from FCO and have booked private transfer for 7.30am. ( self disembarkation) Hoping timing will be ok..

I assume if we dock at 5am that 7.30am should certainly be safe enough. I know that you mentioned 30 mins but I've never been off quite that quickly in US ports, unless European ports are different. Hoping others will have some first hand, recent experience.

We have this same situation in September (flying to Dublin for the weekend before heading home). I called the cruise line, and they said it would not be a problem with the self disembarkation. I also called Choice Air, and they quoted the same flight I am on at 11:15- I asked if it would be too tight, and they said absolutely not a problem. :)

  2. If it's any help from about 2.00 in this shows what we did there. We only had half a day as we went to Dockyard in the afternoon after quick swim at TB. All the best, Tony

So nice to watch- thank you for sharing!

  3. I think Wahoo's was maybe a ten minute walk from the ferry terminal. We didn't eat there but I remember walking by it.

    Tobacco Bay was nice:

A short walk from there is Fort St. Catherine, and a lovely beach that was practically deserted:

The Unfinished Church is along the way (the walk isn't so bad)...

Also on the way is St. Peter's Church. Lots of neat little shops and historical places all over St. George's. We came over on the 9:30 and left on the 3:30, had plenty of time to poke around a few stores, walk to Tobacco Bay/ St. Catherine's, swim and snorkel a bit. I already want to go back!

Thanks so much for these posts- I didn't realize how much we needed to go to St George's until I saw these photos... can't wait to see it all!

  4. I have teenage sons (17 & 18) who LOVE Disney cruises more than any other vacation. I just want to dispel the myth that it is only for little kids. My sons spent a lot of time in Disney parks when they were younger, but are kind of past that right now. It's been a verrrry long time since they got excited about seeing Mickey Mouse. BUT... They do still love DCL- it is their favorite by FAR. They always have a great time when we go and they beg to go back.

This summer they will be on RCCL Anthem and it was me who was begging them to go. Not because I don't love Disney, too, but because I think it's good to try different things (and I think Anthem offers a lot, including we can drive to the ship from home [emoji4]). We are also booked on Harmony (in 2018!) for the same reason. DCL is my favorite and we will be back on Fantasy in 2017, too.

I think you should try DCL- book Harmony for the next one. It sounds like you would like to try something new, and I can't believe DCL would disappoint. Good luck with your decision, I hope you have many fun cruises in your future!

  5. I think anytime you go when college is out you have a better chance (than when college/school is in session). They will post on the daily navigator when people 18-20 can get together (like lunch or in an adult nightclub) so that you will meet everyone. I have a college age son who was 18 on our cruise on the Fantasy last August- he met a ton of friends, had a great time! [emoji2] I hope you will, too!

  6. Wonderful report, thanks so much for taking the time to share! Very glad your kids enjoyed the teen club- and very interesting about the club on Allure. We cruise a lot on Disney, and we went on Explorer one year- my kids were miserable, although they did make lots of friends, they were just bored- because the staff rarely followed through on anything planned. Or if they did (like rock climbing), if you showed up 15 minutes in they said sorry too late. Now I can't get them to go on Anthem, and I REALLY think they would love the ship! But they will have none of it, all because of that one cruise years ago. And they say cruising is their favorite vacation, too. Anyway... thanks again for sharing all of your experiences! :)

  7. We visited Antigua in January while on a Costa ship. When you get off, there seems like 100 taxi drivers trying to sell you a taxi ride. Several were in orange uniforms and extremely aggressive. Everyone wanted $20pp. We hired Christopher John who told us his tour was $20 and $8, which included admission to their park and the Nelson area.

We were extremely pleased with Mr John. Most of the other drivers fail to let you see a presentation at one of the stops because they rush their tours I order to get an additional fare. He does one a day, is very Informative and even stopped and bought us a container if fresh fruit to try. He owns his cab and can be reached at chrisolejohn@live.com. The way he worked it with us was agreeing to leave at a specified time after he had 6 passengers. If you email him beforehand with a group, that would be better yet. He wanted to please.

Hi Very Seasoned- Mr John sounds great- what did you do with him? Where did you go and what did you see? Thank you! :)
