  1. I just kept checking. If you are not assigned prior to day of cruise, you'll receive assignment at the port and they will update your luggage tags then. At least that is what I've read on a Carnival link on a previous CC message.

    Same here... just kept checking.

  2. Will probably get flamed for bringing up an "old" thread.. but this review was awesome! I found it searching for reviews on the Liberty, which I will be on for the first time next month. What a neat surprise to see you also reviewed the Breeze which I had been *thinking* about booking for 2017. Nope. Not thinking about it any more. Definitely going to do it! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this.

  3. Yes you can use gift cards as a deposit when booking onboard. Just don't load them onto your s&s card cause you can't use onboard credit. So in other words, whatever amount you plan to use in gift cards for the deposit just set it aside. Don't deposit them to your onboard account.

And I agree, everytime they go on sale I get at least one. It's like an addiction! Lol

Ooooooh.... didn't realize that was why. Thanks!

  4. I probably need to unsubscribe from this thread.... I CANNOT resist ordering a gift card or two when they go on sale. The one cruise I have already booked is paid off, and so are my excursions for said cruise. I'm planning to book the next cruise while on board ( for the on board credit) but I hear you can't use gift cards to do that. I said all that to say, if I keep snagging these gift card deals, I guess I have to keep booking cruises so I can use them.... or wait, maybe that's my goal. 😉

  5. Booked early saver twice. The first time we got price drops of $30 each. Second time we got $40 each.

I think early saver is your best chance or "guarantee" of the lowest rate unless you allow Carnival to pick your cabins. However with young children, you probably have to pick your two cabins to ensure you can be close.

I have never traveled during summer, but I don't know if there is such a thing as a less crowded pool.

Hope you get everything settled out and have a great first cruise!

  6. I am totally sick to my stomach and feel like I could puke now! I was working on uploading all of my pictures for the following day (Grand Turk) and was trying to remember how to make a "folder" within my gallery and deleted THE ENTIRE FOLDER NAMED BREEZE...with all the days and pictures I have posted so far. All completely gone!

I have contacted Smugmug to see if it can be recovered. I don't know what the process is or if it can be done. I'm seriously sick to my stomach now.

When folders are deleted, usually the pictures used around the net become invalid or don't show up. I'm not sure if they get the folder back if it will still have the same url or not.

Like I'm seriously sick now. This entire review could become null and void if they can't get it back.

    :(

If you have a recycle bin, check there and then restore files. It could help. Best wishes!

  7. It did have Windows but I wasn't paying much attention to that. I don't remember seeing the ship out of the Windows but I was so focused on getting on the ship, I really wasn't looking at anything else.

Thanks. I'm going with newbies and would like to see their reactions if we can see the ship inside the terminal. I think I also was focused on getting on the only time I was in Galveston and that's why I dot remember.

  8. We had FTTF. I think we got to the port around 10:30. Dropped bags off, parked and waited for the shuttle. We bypassed everyone in line which was kind of cool lol. Once we got through security and got our sign and sail cards it was 11:30. They called the wedding parties and priority boarding. Then called FTTF. Once on board we rushed to the guest services desk because I was dying to do the Behind the Fun tour. We were told we had to go to the shore excursion desk. Did that and we were in our room by 12:20.

    Thanks for this.

  9. I got off the Liberty today. I will write a review probably Monday when I get back to work. I have pics of the menus from all but one night. And most of the fun times I think. Plus other random papers they gave us.

Will be looking forward to that! Thanks!

They were in a jr suite which might have gotten them priority. I know way back when we got priority when we were in a jr suite. They didn't have FTTF, I know that.

Okay thanks. Even though it's near impossible, I'm trying to see if I can pinpoint the time to stepping on the ship. The anticipation is killing me!!! :)

  10. Hello!!! We will be in Cozumel in May. We are likely going to go to Paradise Beach. I have found pictures/videos of people using life jackets in the kayaks, but I am wondering if they give life jackets for the beach toys. I do know how to swim, but I feel more comfortable with a life jacket on in deeper water. Just wondering if I can depend on having a life jacket if I choose to buy the water package pass. Thanks!

  11. I read your first Fascination review in anticipation of my May 2015 cruise on that ship. Since I booked my May 2016 cruise on the Liberty, I have been obsessed with that review of yours and keep going back to read it and to look at Patti's awesome pictures. Now I have another Fascination review of yours to pass the next 46 days! Thanks for this! It will be fun reading a review from you on a ship I have experienced.

  12. Went out of mobile once in Jan. 2010. It was my first cruise and HORRIBLE. Fog did not allow our ship to get to the port until late in the afternoon. It was well after midnight before we were allowed to even get in to the port area and begin boarding the ship. I don't know if it was just the time of year or a bad weather day or what. Because we were leaving so late, we lost one of our port days. The next day was horribly rough seas and since my best friend was sick all of the day, that was pretty much a "lost" day as well. (NOTE: I do not blame carnival for the weather or rough seas, just commenting on my experience out of mobile) However, besides for losing a day from boarding and losing a port day, we had a great time. I'm glad I didn't let the first two, lost days of my trip ruin the rest of my cruising experience.
