  1. I do not believe there has ever been an expanded room service menu for Concierge class, it has been for Aqua class and Suites for at least the last 2 years.
  2. Lots of luck with that, I bet you get nothing back from the CC.
  3. Thanks for the information. We may just bring onboard some bottles of wine since we will be in Chile for our departure a couple of days early.
  4. On HAL in the MDR, they charge for the first lobster $10, and if you want Surf and Turf it will cost a $30 upcharge. Hal charges for a shrimp cocktail, $8.50. Alaska Crab legs, when available will cost a hefty $55 for 1/2lb. At least last year RS was no charge, but I bet that changes after what Celebrity is doing. These were the extra charges last August on our Oosterdam cruise.
  5. Thank you, that will work for us. We leave from Santiago Chile so I know we can get good wine to bring aboard.
  6. Wow, that is good news, we are Oceania newbies, and we have an 18 night cruise booked in 2025 on the Marina. We have the O-Life beverage package, so wine and beer with meals is covered but being able to have a bottle of gin and bourbon in our cabin would be nice. Does the Marina have a duty-free liquor shop like other cruise lines? If so, can we buy bottles to enjoy back in our cabin? Can we get mixers for drinks onboard? Thanks for your help. This has us rethinking the need to upgrade the bev package now.
  7. Yes they are made through the app, at least that is how it is supposed to work, but with the app who knows.
  8. The only juices mentioned as not covered are as follows: "Disclaimer: Includes alcoholic drinks up to $10. Does not include Smoothies or Aqua Spa Fresh Juice. 15% OFF wines by the bottle."
  9. I said unless it has been "renovated" which knowing Rodeway Inns is doubtful, it would still be a dump.
  10. Yes there are a couple of a starters and entrees that have an added cost for Suites room service. This was the case for our Retreat cruises since 2021.
  11. We stayed at the Rodeway 12 years ago and it was a dump, unless it has been renovated, I would never stay there again to save $12 on a shuttle.
  12. I remember back in the old days of cruising when all tips were distributed with cash in envelopes and many would eat in the buffets just to avoid paying tips to a MDR waiter and would stiff their room attendants. That prompted the automatic daily service fees on most cruise lines and on the last day of a cruise you would see a long line of cheapskates trying to get the auto charges removed from their accounts. Most resorts like the one we are staying in Ft Lauderdale in June now charge resort fees of up to $50 per person per day. Next to impossible to avoid those fees. A room service continental breakfast will run $40 per person plus a delivery charge.
  13. Why did you quote me? I was agreeing with your position on this thread.
  14. It goes to more than the MDR waiters, it is distributed to most who serve and work in the included dining venues on the ship.
  15. It comes down to, if you do not want to pay for room service, book a suite or do not use it and go to the MDR, mast grill or OVC for lunch, snacks and breakfasts. If you need to eat in your cabin, bring a plate down from the OVC and avoid any RS fees. I remember in the old days of cruising back in the early1990's most cruise lines had a charge for room service.
  16. The automatic daily gratuity charge has never been for more than dining room service and your cabin stewards regardless of if you paid them or they are included in AI. Unless you have a drinks package all drinks have again always been plus a gratuity, with a drinks package the gratuities are included in the cost. Other purchases like bottles of wine have also always had a gratuity added to the cost. This is one area that there is no gauging.
  17. On the Reflection last year my sister tried the beyond burger and it gave her the Mexico quick step for 2 days.😇
  18. We had a local big Chinese buffet that advertised they had all you can eat crab legs. They got shut down by the city when people complained the crab was nothing, but imitation crab legs made from Pollock with zero real crab. I will not eat at any sushi place that uses fake crab as well.
  19. We stopped in Naples last year and had been to Pompeii 3 previous times and it seemed like all the Celebrity tours had Pompeii. We are to the point where we do not use ship tours anymore too expensive and we hate being on buses with 30 strangers. So now we use private excursions and the one we used for Naples last year we did through Shore Excursions group was for 6 people max and we had 4 in our group and it was less than similar big bus cruise on Celebrity. becasue there was only the 4 of us we got to choose the places we wanted to see on the Amalfi coast and when we wanted to have our lunch break. Go to the link and enter your ship and cruise date to see excursion on your cruise. Use the link below. https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/
  20. I am sorry, but that is not a very inspiring menu, when we have dined in the OVC if was for the Asian and stir fry options which do not look like they have anymore.
  21. We booked our first Oceania cruise on the Marina in 2025 and finally found out form Oceania CS that the Marina will get the new revisioning in May 2024. I hope it is the same as the Riviera got last year. We are jumping ship from Celebrity and our high loyalty status to try Oceania. We have 2 more Oceania cruise we are looking at for 2024 and 2025.
  22. Thank you, for the reasons you cite, we have booked our first Oceania cruise for March 2025. We have sailed for the last few years in Sky Suites with Celebrity and with all the recent changes and super high future suites, Oceania is now more affordable for us. The 2025 Marina cruise is for 18 days from Santiago to Buenos Aires, and the Celebrity Equinox cruise we were looking at was 14 days with 4 fewer ports than the Marina. The Sky Suite on Equinox is about the same price as a Concierge class veranda cabin for 18 days on the Marina. For us this was a no brainer.
  23. My app for our June Equinox cruise shows all 3 menus but Aqua will now have to pay the new RS charge that became effective on all cruises departing after January 1 this year. It stinks for those who booked Aqua before but like so many other changes it is reality.
