  1. If you are on RCI or Celebrity, pulling cash out from your OBC will incur a 5% fee.:D

Actually Mic, the 5% is charged when you draw money on your SeaPass card in the Casino which is an easy way of accessing your OBC (but not actually telling them it is against your OBC) - is that what you meant? On Radiance - Syd/HNL, at Guest Services they were only allowing you take the cash from OBC on the last day of the cruise if it hadn't been spent (with no 5% being applied). It was also the case that your OBC would be applied to your account before any other spendings:rolleyes:

I had a "debate" with Guest Services about that because it was a "gift" from my US TA. I got the money - $US1000 (no charge) but don't believe I should have had to state my case so energetically:eek::)

  2. Thanks for the suggestions. I just tried different browser, different cabin, and different cruise! Still no luck. Must be an RCI thing :(

I just did a dummy booking to see and it does appear that there is a glitch at the moment. Try again a little later in the day.

  3. David, I assume you are referring to the age of the ship and not the passengers;)

She is off to Asia now and has then been chartered by a Chinese company for 5 weeks. After that, I believe it will do Singapore Hong Kong and eventually come down here.

It is roughly the same size as Rhapsody (Vision Class) and pretty much the same. I think it holds around 2000 but we only had 1700. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We found the food to be very good, entertainment was pretty good and now looking forward to more cruising on it.

  4. Earlier this morning the Captain advised that we would be getting into Sydney around 1.30am tomorrow/Thursday due to a very sick passenger.

We have now been informed that we are awaiting a medical evacuation by helicopter. We were told off Newcastle but it looks like it might actually be off Port Macquarie. The helicopter is due at 2.30pm.

The ship is now due to arrive (or pick up the Pilot) at 5.30am.

  5. Hi Di.

Please advise who is the Captain, as well as the CD & AM.

We board when she gets to Sydney.:D

    Cheers

The Captain is Arild Hansen (seems very nice/personable). The CD is Keith Williams (like him) and the AM, not sure but I think is a Brazilian guy - I will find out for you.

    Enjoying the Legend.

The "Project" was mechanical but what I don't know - will have to wait for the Chinese Whispers;)

  6. Yes we are now under way. We actually sailed a few minutes after I hit the submit thread button.

Yes we don't hit Moorea for about four days - all going well, that is. Whilst I love Moorea, if we are going to have "another project" then, I would like it to be in Bora Bora:)

I just heard that Captain Rob disembarked yesterday for leave. I didn't know he was now on the Legend and am sorry he isn't Captaining us back to Sydney.

  7. We are on board the Legend which was due to leave Honolulu last night at 11 pm but were informed after our 10.15pm muster:eek: that we wouldn't be departing until 2am. At 7.40am we were told the "project" hadn't gone "quite according to plan" but we would be leaving at around lunchtime and everyone was granted leave to go ashore but had to be back on board by 11am.

It's nearly midday and haven't heard anything yet except that we will still make our first Port of Moorea on time.

The upside is we get to do sailaway in the daylight (well, hopefully):) and Honolulu isn't a bad place to be "stuck".

  8. We were at Samba last night (second time this cruise). The meat has been excellent on both occasions.

Chefs Table was a disgrace. Cold food and cheap wine. We have always enjoyed it but not again (on the Radiance anyway). We actually had 17 (all CC members) at our table and not one person had a hot meal and the Chef seemed disinterested when a lady politely mentioned it to him.

  9. Just read of 2 strong quakes this morning around Wellington NZ. A 5.1 and 4.4.

Radiance of the Seas is berthed at Wellington Port, bit of a shaky walk around for the pax on shore.

We are on the Radiance - was there a quake on Thursday morning? No-one said anything but we do know about the one the day after we left:eek:

We have had some fairly big seas since leaving Wellington but it finally seems to be settling down today:)

  10. Yes, my TA forwarded the RCI Newsletter to me. Bookings aren't open yet but it will be interesting to see where it will go.

Apart from the photos, I have copied over what it says:

We Dream Big at Royal Caribbean.

Why build something new when you can create something never before imagined?

A ship that not only takes you to the sea, but to the sky. Where the nostalgia of childhood meets the technology of tomorrow. And a space you marvelled at a moment before is transformed into something completely different the next. Imagine a world shaped by land, perfected by sea.

This world is our Quantum Class — a class that has redefined the idea of cruising, offering a host of incredible never-before-seen features and technologies. And for the first time, you will get to experience such a revolutionary ship right from your doorstep with the newest member of our Quantum Class, Ovation of the Seas, arriving December 2016.

Ovation of the Seas is the third ship in the ground-breaking Quantum Class. At more than 168,000 tonnes, 16 guest decks and carrying almost 5,000 passengers, Ovation of the Seas will be the biggest ship and first brand-new ship ever to sail from Australia.

Bookings for Ovation of the Seas' maiden Australian season are not yet open, but we encourage you to register your interest at royalcaribbean.com.au/Ovation to be the first to receive information on her local sailings when details are announced.

  11. This thread could use some more updated information on Current Concierges and their rotations. Could anyone going on a cruise please find out what you can about CL amd DL Concierges' schedules. Thanks

    Linke to GoogleDoc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hKBiGZ9Gqcp2G2owtX3RyQy7yQ0ijgxCL0nPjQKK8j4/edit?pli=1#gid=371892551

If you haven't found out who the Concierge will be on the Radiance by the time I board on Sunday, I will post on Sunday evening and let you know who it is.
