    Now it's only a rumour BUT there is "talk" that SDI has achieved a 100 score from USPH (US Public Health) just recently.

     

    If that is true......then congratulations to ALL onboard.

    An outstanding achievement bearing in mind the age of the vessel.

     

    Anybody out there able to confirm this ?

    We are very excited to meet all the staff on Seadream 1! Congrats to them on a perfect score!...Seadream in Venice!! What could be more romantic!? 🍷😍

    Ho Hum has found the only antidote to this abomination of food ?

     

    A heavy bodied red wine......a Rhone maybe......it scours the mouth from this yuck !

     

    HH goes one step further. Avoids it altogether and just drinks the wine.

     

    But Blondie loves the "Taco Salad" (as does the hypocrite himself HH).

     

    But really the Owner is always trying to find ways of cutting costs....cut this stuff, it takes an age in preparation too for:

    - the food has to be prepared in a section of the kitchen turned into a temple

    - the kitchen staff preparing the food must be virgins

    - they must do 2 hours zen meditation before preparing the food

    - they must never touch the food

    - they have to pray continuously whilst preparing the food

     

    And even after all that it still tastes like cardboard (apart from the taco salad).

    Maybe I should be watching what Blindie orders!? The problem with me is...my head says arugula but my heart says pizza...anyway! time to shop for another mau mau! Hahahaha!

    Trust HH, Kathy, HH regularly has his foot in his grande bouche !

    Blondie is always "rolling her eyes" at the latest goof or is transfixed in a fixed laugh as the horror of the gaff pervades the table of fellow guests.

     

    Hell he even called a hotel favoured by fellow passengers (the Best Western in St.Thomas) as a "Pschittolla" when they apparently loved it for the old Caribbean charm !

    Just cant remember the friends names......never mind.

    Hi right back at you to Danny and your lovely, lovely friends.....sure had a fun time with you guys.

    It's ok HH!! You have taught us all a new word that we now use quite frequently...Schittolla!!! Hahaha!!! This weather is still Schittolla! Etc, etc...

    By the way, we should be accumulating some frequent yachting points as we have convinced a few more couples to join us on Seadream in the near future! Do you and Blondie have plans for any future European sailings?....and were you serious about visiting Montreal? Promise to find you a better Schittolla to lay your head! LOL

    Skeet shooting!!?

     

    Our very first cruise with Chandris cruise lines had skeet shooting. They had Venizualan soldiers standing guard two feet behind you with guns at the ready!

    In case someone went postal on the boat! Not the most relaxing cruise! :eek:

    Howdy Sundance. I think asking Ho-Hum to give up Idle Jottings is a bit like asking Keith Richards to give up Sex, Drugs, & Rock N Roll.:eek:

    K & D, interesting to hear your take on Sandals. We have often thought of that as we have enjoyed other all inclusives but have, so far, never "pulled the trigger". (Sorry about that Mr. Hum) It looks nice and Ho-Hum's point about rewarding past customers is well taken. We are Diamond with Cunard and get lots of stuff including more Wi-Fi time than we can use. Of course, if SD were to institute some levels of rewards, we would have to, for Mr. & Mrs. Hum, come up with an appropriate level. Something far above Diamonds..........

     

    Jim,

    Give Sandals a shot!! And if you love a beautiful beach relaxation? Try the Sandals Emerald bay in Exuma, Bahamas for your first! Outstanding!!!

    And for Ho Hum and Blondie? I would obviously give them the Royalty level...

    Ho Hum,

     

    It's a shame really! All of Seadream passengers fall in love from the moment they step on the boat...and by the sound of it, there are many, many returning guests! As far as Danny and I are concerned it's the little things that count in showing your appreciation for your returning guests.

    If I may give you a few examples of how Sandals shines in this area!!

    Once you have visited a Sandals resort they ask you to sign up for their signature guest club. No charge, no catch either!

    On your second visit and it does not have to be at the same resort...you can choose from any of their 15 or 16 resorts.

    You are invited to their returning guest dinner. ( which is a fabulous and grand affair )

    You will also get two sandals T shirts in your room. A free 1/2 hour session with a photographer and 10% off in the gift shop. Wait! There's more!!!

    Let's see if I remember all they do, since it's been almost 10 years since we started going to Sandals.

    At each returning guest dinner, they announce to everyone who has recieved a certain amount of payed nights...for example.

    25 paid nights will get you a pair of silver charm sandals among the above mentioned...

    45 paid nights gets you a gold charm sandals...among other things....

    The BIG one everyone shoots for is 70 paid night and you get a free week!!!

    Danny and I are almost at our 3rd free week! It's only 10 % of 70 nights but a free week feels sooo much better.

    Next hurdle is... Becoming a diamond member!! This is where you become royalty among the hotel sort of speak! LOL...

    100 paid nights! You get the best upgrades, free candle lit dinners on the beach and my personal favorite! You get to invite two staff members of your choice out for dinner and entertainment.

    The smart thing that Sandals has created is a fun competition amongst the guests for free weeks and a sense of real belonging!

    No one does returning guests club like Sandals!!! It has a great product and high end all inclusive! ( not Seadream high end! ) but very good just the same!

    No! I did not get a free week to write this Sandals commercial!! Haha!

    again! It's a shame that Seadream offers none of this!! Like I said it's the little things that count! For instance...a very tiny thing about Seadream that irked me was the fact that they do not even send the nice travel folder with bag tags anymore...cost cutting maybe! But it just looks cheap!

    So, there you have it! Two examples of how to treat returning guests!

    Saba is the perfectly round top of an ancient volcano, and has no protected harbour, natural or otherwise. The ship is at anchor and it is often too rough for safe tendering.

     

    We have missed it numerous times, but finally made it last year. It was a fascinating taxi ride on the few roads that there are.

     

    Thank you Abenaki, HH did not offer an explanation and it was not so obvious to me...hehehe...

     

    HH, must be total hell! Still being on the Yacht!? Not jealous at at all!! Nope!, not me! Not jealous at all!!:mad::D

    Whilst at Concierge, an agitated "gentleman" arrives with a pink copy of a Laundry completion form and abruptly demands to know how it is possible that his bill for a few clothes items could possibly cost $466 !

     

    The lady advises the "gentleman" that the number refers to his cabin number not amount charged !

     

    He turns on his heels and without a jot of an apology walks off........extraordinary is'nt it ?

     

    And ho hum would also like to add: how did the cabin number even appear on the docket ?

    He wrote it down himself when completing the form in the first place !

     

     

    Is this an unusual week for the occasional rude guest or is this a common occurrence ?

    Hmmmmm.......once is enough !

    How do these ladies remain cheerful and helpful still ?

    Ho Hum admires them tremendously but this just should not be happening......

    And if mistaken.

    Damn well apologise.

     

     

    Grovel even !

    Like Ho Hum has to do whenever he rarely transgresses against Lady Minjey-Moo.

    I don't know how those sweet girls do it!? And always with a smile...they were tremendously gracious and helpful to us! And while we're at it!! Why go on vacation if you know you'll be angry and unhappy all the time!? Next time! You give him what for Ho Hum!!... :mad:

     

    Saba, were there any reasons why the Captain turned away from Saba? This is an island I would love to see...

    Haha (unless you are travelling with 'em, then its boo-hoo)

     

    We took a side trip to BArbados from St.Lucia one year. Booked an early morning flight, 30 minute flight! That's all it should take!...arrived at 6pm.

    Once we passed through security, we were stuck in a little room all day...

    Never' ever again!!!....unless we really have to! Haha!

     

    Ho Hum,

    I had no idea you had such a mean streak!!😱 currents indeed!! Hahahaha!

    Hope Blondie is up to her old Bubbly self? 💃

     

    Thank you for sharing your visit to Montserrat with us! Hope we get a chance to visit one day? Years ago, we heard there were Irish descendant who lived there!?
