  1. Windy is what the cruise ships use while at sea as well.
  2. I always had a “go bag” in the trunk of my car with all my gear because there were occasions when the “call” came from the corner suite that I had a flight to (insert destination) in an hour and there was no time to get home to pack.
  3. Just about half that - we average about 95-100 days a year depending on ships and itineraries.
  4. Upside - took me all over the world and met some fascinating people along the way; downside - I averaged ~200 days a year either in hotels or airports.
  5. As a hobby, probably, but it was how I made my living for almost 30 years😇
  6. Just received this for our April 20 Adventure cruise: Dear Guest, Due to the evolving situation in Haiti, we’ll now visit Perfect Day at CocoCay instead of Labadee, Haiti. We’ve also swapped the order we’ll visit a few of our destinations. We’re terribly sorry for the last-minute change – your safety is our top priority. Feel free to use this information for insurance purposes. Nevertheless, we’re excited to take you to our beautiful private destination! Below, please find our revised Adventure of the Seas April 20th, 2024, itinerary. Date Day Port of Call Arrive Depart 4/20/24 Sat Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida 4:00 PM 4/21/24 Sun Cruising 4/22/24 Mon Puerto Plata, Dominican Rep 9:00 AM 6:00 PM 4/23/24 Tue Cruising 4/24/24 Wed Nassau, Bahamas 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 4/25/24 Thu Perfect Day at CocoCay 7:00 AM 5:00 PM 4/26/24 Fri Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida 7:00 AM Your Day in Perfect Day at CocoCay There’s a reason we named it Perfect Day at CocoCay – because it’s truly a perfect day! Our chill seekers can sunbathe in a private Overwater Cabana or enjoy a drink at the swim-up bar in the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean, Oasis Lagoon™! Thrill seekers can bounce, climb and swing their way through the obstacles in Adventure Pool, or take on the tallest slide in North America — Daredevil's Peak®. Whether you’re looking for thrills or simply want to kick back and chill, Perfect Day at CocoCay has you covered! Shore Excursion Our Shore Excursions team will automatically refund any pre-paid Royal Caribbean International shore excursions booked for Labadee in the form of an Onboard Credit to your SeaPass account. These credits can be used anywhere onboard, and any remaining, refundable amounts at the end of our sailing will be reimbursed to your card on file in up to 14 business days from final disembarkation. Thank you for your understanding. We can’t wait to welcome you onboard Adventure of the Seas! Sincerely, Aurora Yera-Rodriguez AVP | Guest Experience Royal Caribbean International
  7. Unfortunately, there are no free drinks for any loyalty level during happy hour in either the Suite Lounge or the Crown Lounge. That perk was eliminated a few years ago.
  8. They don’t own it, but they footed most of the cost to build it.😇
  9. The article I posted this morning specifically talked about the situation surrounding the Cap Haitien airport, which is where the evacuations were supposed to be staged. The link that I posted has been updated (apparently the situation throughout Haiti is very fluid), and the sentence you quoted was not in the original article.
  10. Unfortunately, that is not a passenger elevator and is only accessible if you can convince someone on staff to let you use it.
  11. It was a report I saw on one of the National News networks. https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/18/us/haiti-state-department-charter-flight/index.html
  12. Given the fact that the gangs have taken over and shut down the airport in Cap Hatien and effectively control access to the Labadee area, the situation is not likely to get better any time soon
  13. If you purchase the internet when you are on board, the cost has been running ~$25 PPPD +18% "service" charge. Purchasing prior to boarding can save you $$ depending on how many people/devices you would be using. Regarding drink packages, figure ~$3 for water, ~$5 for sodas, ~$10/beer and ~$15 for mixed drinks. You would have to drink a LOT in order to cover the ~$90+PPPD cost of a drink package since every adult in the cabin has to purchase it.
  14. We always order to go from Izumi and I pick it up and take it back to eat on our balcony. It is usually windy, rainy or cold up on D12 and DW can't do the stairs.😇🍤🍣
  15. 3-day old threads that discuss legitimate issues rarely become dead horses...😇🐴
  16. It will be interesting to see what port (if any) replaces Labadee on our 6-night on Adventure in April since we are already scheduled to stop at Nassau and Puerto Plata, DR.
  17. We were in Haiti and the DR on Adventure in February, and from what we were told by people we talked with in both countries, it appears that the border between the two countries is still tightly closed. Our Haitian tour guide said that the DR will not issue any visas for Haitians to travel to the DR, and in the DR the guides were very clear that Haitians that managed to cross the border were quickly sent back to Haiti. Take it for what it is worth...
  18. Unfortunately, you will not receive free internet in any suite category on Mariner
  19. Probably left over when their foot was surgically removed from their mouth😇
  20. Why is that every time they "enhance" something it feels like I just lost a kidney🤪
  21. Hopefully, someone will pick up the mantle on the next leg and carry on your excellent photography and narratives. Thanks for taking us all along with you.😇
  22. AI became less attractive once they split out the gratuities. We will probably be doing the cruise only and just getting internet on board (if our 30% discount comes close to the pre-cruise prices). We don’t drink enough to justify the beverage package. The only thing DW and I are debating is whether it is worth the price to book the Retreat on an edge class ship.
  23. I presume he doesn’t bring the scooter until the person in the cabin lets him know he’s ready for it.
