We have done a few Halloween cruises on Carnival. There was a costume contest, Halloween themed dessert in the dining room and activities for the children on board.

We have done this on a b2b.We have a store here In NJ called $5 below and got two chairs and at the end of the cruises we give them to someone who is doing a b2b.So I look at it this way $10 as compared to maybe$150.And no one at the beaches says anything.
Danp
Do you have any pics of the chairs you purchased?

We've been on two Carnival cruises, with the kids, but this is the first time for just my wife and me and our first on Royal Caribbean.
We're on Freedom April 5. I hope this was a good choice, since it was my idea and I made the arrangements. The pressure's on.
We took our first RC cruise on Freedom of the Seas and LOVED it! She is a GREAT ship.

Decided to book a cruise yesterday. The cruise is 10 months away on Brillance and traditional dining was unavailable. Another scam by Royal to get more money upfront? Or them trying to prevent us from using the $200 OBC for gratuities? There are tons of rooms left on the sailing so I just find it odd that my time dining was the only option. I do see that I've been "wait listed" for traditional. Anyone else seen a similar issue? I personally hated my time dining so I hope we get switched to traditional.
Sure glad you posted this as I was confused. We booked the 13 day Brilliance cruise in Oct and traditional dining was not available. I could not figure out how that could be so far in advance.

On our last cruise DH decided he wanted the drink package. Since we still had
4 days of the 7 day cruise left I told him we should be fine. When we went to Guest Services they said we could purchase the drink package but, at the full 7 day price. Is this correct???? We naturally decided not to buy it but, it sure left me confused. Also are the tips included with the package now?

I like this change ;)

I love to relax in the solarium and read on my kindle.

Just dropping by to comment I am glad to see all the positive posts about Brilliance of the Seas! I will sail on her for the first time in Oct.

I agree that it depends on the question however I generally consult with CC first :)

Overrated: The wok, the production shows and The Love And Marriage Show
Underrated: Porthole cabins

I cruised on the Paradise in 2012 and got pretty much what I expected from a small, older ship. I agree the Cruise Director was great playing, When The Devil Went Down To Georgia!
-
I will also be cruising to St Kitts for the first time in the fall. Thanks for the information

Carnival is saying ,screw the red and gold cruisers and until you get to be a diamond ,or platinum ,don't ask us for anything free unless it's water.
ROFL :p

 Contacted cab co for transportation from Rocky Point Holiday Inn Express. Called Cab Plus no flat rate to port? Dispatcher indicated it would at least $30.00 "give or take". Called Blue One who told us our desired pick up time of 9:30 was "too early" and we did not want to go then. They said we did not want to go until 11:00....... DH assured them we have cruised many times and we know what we want. There is a regular shuttle leaving from the hotel at 11 and I fear our 10:30 will not happen. We have not cruised out of tampa for a few years the Holiday Inn no longer has their own shuttle Blue One does their airport pick ups now.

We were scheduled for Cozumel and had made arrangements to go to Nachi Cocum. For some reason, which I either never knew or simply cannot recall, we docked in Costa Maya instead. We just went to the free pool at the port. Had a lovey day and a couple of drinks. There were some musicians and dancers performing by the pool. Probably spent about $20.00.

We like the Holiday Inn Express at Rocky Point. The hotel shuttle picks us up at the airport. There is a Bahama Breeze restaurant right behind the hotel so we walk over. Dinner there and a few umbrella drinks will get you right in the mood to cruise. :)

We did our 1st RC cruise in Oct after several Carnival cruises. You are going to love it!
-
Relax it is going to be fabulous & soon you will be a seasoned cruiser. :)
We always eat a little lunch when we board. Then we head to the pool for a drink & some chilling until the safety drill.

After several Carnival cruises we sailed on RC for the first time this year. We loved FOS. The biggest difference for us was the entertainment. DH and I felt the shows were so much better on RC.
-
Our first RC cruise was a Jr. Suite on FOS. We had a silver sea pass card. Loved the cabin sooooo much. This probably ruined us for other cruises but, it was worth the cost to us. :)

DH & I had such a terrific time aboard the Freedom of the Seas in Oct, that we decided to get out of the Indiana winter for a while :p. We decided to do a Jan cruise. We have never cruised in the winter before, so I am a bit concerned about flights etc..... Hopefully, everything will go off without a hitch! I know Vision of the Seas is a lot smaller than FOS and that is okay. I was just wondering about the shows in the main theater. Can anyone tell me what they are? Thank you.

After initially cruising on Carnival, I want to stay Loyal to Royal. However, I am starting to fear they are going to "price me out".
