  1. I will be on the RCCL Anthem of the Seas in October 2022, one of our Ports of Call is Port Canaveral.  We have no interest in going to Disney, but have no idea exactly what to do in Port Canaveral.  Can anyone recommend activities they have done, with any costs associated like taxis or distance from the port?

  2. I've been on many cruises, but none from my home state of NJ. Cape Liberty Port states parking is $25.00 per day, thats $200.00 for my Anthem of Seas departure out of Cape Liberty in Oct 2022; . seems a little Expensive.  Typically on our other cruises, we park at a parking lot close to Newark Airport & pay around $16.00 day, that parking lot would then shuttle us over to the airport & we would depart, when coming home they would be called & bring us back to our car.  Not sure if we could do this for this trip, and get some kind of shuttle.  Any ideas for alternatives to parking at Cape Liberty?

  3. Hi, being the OP, I just wanted to clarify. I have been on 13 cruises and none that I have been on ever stopped at a Private Island other then MSC last September, so I was a little unsure with Perfect Day.  We had 6 of us girls, all of who like Beach & pool, and the first thing we thought off was find Lounge chairs & Umbrellas, and Chill Island was the first beach we came across, and just parked everything down & hurried to get into the ocean.  There were no maps in the cabin, nor did I see any one with them, but then again I was not looking for any. The food was the best part, 10/10, but I heard from these posts that there was also a snack shack I missed out on, probably would have loved that. Upsetting that we were there the entire day & clueless, maybe next time, we can give it a try & will be more informed.

  4. I was on the 7/25/2022 Inde of Seas sailing to Bahamas.  Our Stop at Perfect Day left me a little disappointed. I had been hearing over the last 2 years how they were building it up, but I was not impressed. I found out as we were leaving Perfect Day that there are actually 3 beaches on Perfect Day, that I was unaware of, Chill Island, South Beach & Harbor Beach.  We stayed on Chill Island which was full of seaweed & the ocean floor was very rocky.  Should we have stayed perhaps at either South Beach or Harbor Beach for a better Experience?  Also, was their a community free pool at Perfect Day that we could have went to, I didn't see one?

  5. I booked a cruise for Aug 2022 where the FCC was greater than the cruise fare, so they issued the difference in more FCC ($100.00) &, it took about 3 weeks to get the add'l FCC.  However, that FCC expires in Dec 2022. They told me they could apply it to a sisters Cruise I am taking in July 2022.  As luck would have it my August 2022 Cruise had a huge price drop like $500.00, so my TA put in for a price adjustment, and while the price adjustment has been credited, I am now waiting for another FCC, which I will then put toward my sister cruise in July.  My TA told me it can take up to 45 days, and right now its been 3 weeks & still waiting.

  6. Will be on RCCL Independece in July 2022, one stop is Freeport. One of the cruise ship Excursions is to Taino Beach.  We need a beach that has Umbrellas & Chairs. Looks like Taino does, but can't confirm if Lucaya does as well. Has anyone been to either that can answer if Lucaya has Umbrellas & chairs? Has anyone skipped the excursion and just went on your own by taxi, anyone know if its cheaper for this option on your own?  Thanks

  7. We will be sailing in July 2022 on RCCL Independence of Seas, and one of our stops is Freeport/Grand Bahama Island. In looking at RCCL Excursions they have a   Beach getaway & Lunch for $75.00 & another Beach Getaway same beach no lunch for $44.00.  The picture of the beach looked nice , loungers & umbrellas & I thought maybe we would go on our own instead of the excursion via the ship.  The Description at RCCL doesn't specify the name of the beach only that it is "secluded", and when I called RCCL today, they did not know either.  Does anyone know the name of the beach associated with this excursion?

  8. I used my Future Cruise Credit from a sailing that was cancelled in 2021 & booked a JS for a new cruise in August 2022 (take advantage of 4 x points) As you know FCC are for Cruise Fare only. So my FCC from 2021 was for $2,600 & my new Cruise Booking Fare for August 2022 was $2,500, leaving me with a credit of $100.00 and a final payment balance of $260.00 for port fees due in May 2022.  My TA told me that the $100.00 credit will be issued in another FCC not OBC & it has to be used in 2022 or you lose it. Also, as you know on a 60% BOGO the Cruise Fare is not distributed equally. So the $100.00 FCC seems to be going back to my boyfriend.   So 2 questions I need your help with.  I am going on a separate cruise with my sisters (no BF) in July of 2022, so I could have actually used that $100.00 FCC for the July 2022 cruise but since in boyfriends name, don't know how to transfer it, the RCCL website says non-transferrable? Second, how does price reductions factor into this. If cruise fare goes down, will RCCL issue me another FCC that can't be used & in whose name.  If I pay the $260.00 off now which would be considered final payment and the Cruise fare drops would they also issue the difference in FCC or would they then issue in OBC.  I am sure others will face these same issues so wanted to ask for help on this.

  9. I have been to Nassau & Freeport (not fond of Freeport).  However, Grand Bahama Island is a port on a potential cruise & I know nothing about this port.  Can anyone please educate me on if there are any beaches on Grand Bahama Island, or am I better to get a day pass & if so where?

  10. A great Big Thanks to Back-at-it (page 4 of this thread) for providing the link to the Keylion Vaccination Card Protectors (Amazon), I ordered a package on Monday & received it today. They are very thick plastic, very well made & fits the vaccination cards perfectly.  Thanks Again.

  11. I am sailing on the Devina on 9/16/22021 However, I received all my cruise ticket, luggage tags etc (19 pages) from my Travel Agency on 8/21/2021. Maybe it depends on the TA. I will tell you though if I sign in to my MSC account is still states, " your cruise does not depart within 20 days, E tickets are only available within 20 days".  Go Figure

  12. This is my first cruise on MSC in Sept 2021, and was trying to have them match my RCCL Platinum status to MSC. After booking the cruise with my TA (8/4/2021), I promptly signed up for the Voyager's Club & recevd my voyagers number.  I then completed & sent the Status Match form including my voyagers club number along with a screen shot of my RCCL Platinum status showing my name & submitted it.  I know others have waited longer than I have, but I'm getting a bit antsy too as I want whatever discount I'm entitled to.  I sent an email this past Friday to mscvoyagersclub@msccruisesusa.com with my booking number, & within 10 minutes they emailed me back stating they have received my original email & they will respond as soon as possible. So far no updates to my account (I check twice a day). I plan on emailing them once a week. I'm all ears if anyone has a better approach.

  13. We are long time RCCL cruisers and typically when you would crave a mid afternoon or late evening snack, there would be a few spots on the ship that would offer anything from free sandwiches , pizza, cakes, pudding, those types of treats, located typically where the shopping was, and was not part of the actual marketplace buffet.  We are new to MSC & will be sailing on the Devina 9/19/2021. Can anyone let me know what types of free snacks would be available, and where on the ship are they located?

Also, when you are dining in the MDR, are you allowed to order a 2nd entree/appetizer/desert for free or do they frown upon that.  Sometimes I  like to order multiple appetizers & a ton of deserts

  14. I know that Irons are not allowed.  For years though, I have been taking my little clothes steamer on every cruise.  Have never had a problem until the last cruise in 2019 on RCCL, where my luggage was not delivered to my room because of it. Has anyone been able to bring one on MSC before with no issues? Otherwise clothes are all full of wrinkles.

  15. I was at Nachi about 6 years ago, thought it was a nice experience.  Was all set to rebook for my Sept Cruise then came across a few posts about Mr. Sanchos & now Paradise Beach.  Other than the fact that all 3 offer food & some type of alcohol package.  Has anyone been to all 3 that could comment on which one they like better? Perhaps more food choices at one vs another.  My husband doesn't eat seafood so hoping they all offer non fish items.

  16. Curious, my cruise is on 9/19/2021 on Devina. But say I come down with Covid (I am fully Vaccinated) in the next week or so, then I recover, and feel up to my cruise.  When I get to the pier, and they give me my on site Covid Test, would it come up positive because of the antibodies or the fact that I just had Covid,? and how do you counter the argument that you had it recovered, and are good to go? I'm not sure how long you are contagious
