  1. My family will be on the Discovery starting 12/3. My daughter works from home using Central Time hours (the company is based in Chicago). Will the ship remain on California time, or will it switch to the local time in ports? (Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallerta) Also, we know the internet is super slow so she's taking vacation days while we're at sea. Do you think the internet will be strong enough in port? Does anyone have any recommendations for places near the ship that has strong internet service that she could work from? Bummer that she can't take the whole week off, but better to be working from (hopefully) sunny Mexico than from her apartment! Thanks for your help and any tips!
  2. Such wonderful pictures...I'm getting so excited for our cruise! How did you reserve the same table for the rest of the cruise?
  3. We're on the Royal northbound on June 11th...loving your pictures and all the fabulous info! Have a wonderful cruise!
  4. You can see the boat that we took: https://www.baranoftours.com/water-taxi. It can hold 6. This page has details of the boat: https://www.baranoftours.com/marinewildlifetours I felt very comfortable and it was great to move around. Both of my daughters are prone to sea-sickness so they wore those bands and did fine. You can go outside in both front and back.
  5. We used Baranof Tours for a whale watching excursion Sept 2021. BEST DAY EVER! The captain made a point of asking us what we most wanted to see (eagles and bears) and then knew the best places to look for them. We saw so many whales (everyone helps look for the spouts), a sea otter, eagles and watched a bear scoop up a salmon. Wonderful excursion! The boat has both inside and outside areas so you should be comfortable even if the weather is bad. We spent most of our time outside because there was so much to see.
