The motu party is fabulous. We did this trip in 2014 do not remember the night. Call WS

    Great memories.

Thanks...we are very excited to see this.

I called them and they didn't know what night it was.   I'm trying to plan excursions around it so I don't miss it.

  2. Can someone please give me a recommendation for a good Electric Converter and adapter for Tahiti.  I would appreciate a link so that I could purchase this on Amazon if possible.  We will need it for the phones, camera and hair dryer and also for the hotel that we will be staying at.

We are trying not to spend a lot of money on this because this will probably be the one and only time that we will use it.  Thanks in advance.

  3. We will be on the Wind Spirit on July 10,2023.  The ship will be in Bora Bora for 2 nights there is a  Celebration Festival on the Motu.  You will spend the evening on a secluded motu accompanied only by other Windstar guests.  Is that held on the 1st or 2nd night of the cruise?

  4. We will be cruising on Windstar and the ship docks in PPT at 9am but our plane doesn't leave until 9pm.  Wanting to get a day pass

At a hotel so we can hang out at the beach for the day and then have somewhere to shower before we go to the airport.  Windstar offers something but it's 500.00 for the day pass ..looking for something that is a little cheaper.

Yes!   It was an amazing cruise.  Service, Food, Entertainment were all top notch.  One of my best sailings on Celebrity.  First time on Edge class for me - I loved the ship (but i had a sunset veranda) still not sure about whether I would like the Infinite verandas.  Minor quibbles - I did not think the martini bar was designed well or in the best location, am not a fan of the single big pool on the resort deck and the sunset bar was not as nice as the other Millennium or Solstice class ships.  I think a couple of these issues have been addressed on the Beyond,.

Thanks for the info.  How was the weather and the Seas?  Wasnt sure about the infinate veranda either so we  had a Sunset Veranda booked as well..

Understood... I have back up plans for my back up plan....:)  We started cruising back in the olden days..in part as a way of being able to tell bosses..that they couldn't reach us. I had one boss who was called on the ski slope to come back... and after flying home..his boss couldn't recall what the emergency was... sad but true.

That is horrible to do to someone.  I'm like you, I have a back up plan for a back up plan as well..lol..

It's horrible to say but after I get advice from a Celebrity agent I call back to see if I get the same information and normally 1 out of 3 times I do this I get conflicting information.  But I've been burned by bad advice several times so I know I go overboard rechecking but that's just my way of doing things now.

Be careful leaving your phone on cell service while at sea.. the roaming charges will kill you. Set to airplane mode... so I have been told. I usually provide the info listed earlier and then check email periodically for important messages.

I see you don't use email... you might consider setting up a free email on something like gmail and practice logging on..  to get comfortable with it and then perhaps get wifi for a day or two.. so you can check. If you are Elite you get 90 minutes...and this can be split up over several days. I use the computer onboard and log in periodically to check gmail.. only spend a few minutes... that way you can make it last... and you can always buy a day of wifi.. late in the cruise.

I do use email but I turn off the data so that way as you say the roaming charges don't kill my phone bill.  If I do that I can text or call and no problems it's just sometimes out at sea for 2 days you run into areas that don't have any cell service at all.  On a previous trip we were with friends who's husband is a VIP with a huge company and has a cell phone that can work all over the world he was without service for 2 evenings while out at sea.  My luck is that's when stuff happens...lol

I found this on Celebrity's website under FAQs.

    For all Celebrity ships:
    • Dial: 1-877-266-1020(applicable country code)+1-321-953-9002 (outside the United States)
    • Dial the appropriate number above.
    • The caller will be asked to enter the credit card number and expiration date.
    • The system obtains a real-time hold for $79.50 ($7.95 x 10 minutes) and initiates the call to the ship. The $79.50 hold is the maximum that will be held. Actual charges will be calculated based on the number of minutes used on the call.
    • A voice prompt directs the caller to the specific ship.
    • The call is connected to the ship.
    • The call rings through to the designated department onboard (Radio Station or Purser Desk). The call is then routed to the guest's stateroom.
    • The PBX monitors the call. If there is no answer, the call will ring back at the designated department onboard (Radio Station or Purser Desk) and a written message is taken for delivery to the guest's stateroom.

I will leave this for him to use. WOW kind of steep charge to do this but if this is the only option so be it...Thanks for finding this.

I was hoping that someone from Celebrity reservations could send the ship a message and have them contact us but that doesn't seem like that is something that they do

We just give our Daughter/Son our Celebrity TA contact number and name of ship we are sailing on in case of emergency. My BIL died while we were cruising in South America a few years ago. Two Senior Officers came to our cabin to inform us and offered condolences. We were told we could make as many phone calls back home as needed. Next day beautiful flowers arrived in our cabin.

I booked this trip from the Blue Chip Club directly.  Sorry about your loss

  10. I will be on the Celebrity Edge in a few weeks and I need to get an emergency phone number that I can give to my family in the event that they can't reach me by my cell phone while I am on the ship.  While I'm in port it isn't a problem but while we are out to sea there are times that my phone doesn't get service.  I am old school and I only call and text.

I don't have the wifi package and don't do social media either.  I have called at least 6 times(and waited on hold for a minimum of 20 minutes each time) to Celebrity Reservations and gotten hung up on 4 times.  No one can provide me with the correct information. I was told to have them call my cell phone....duh,,,really..

Also told to call Flights by Celebrity and they said they do not contact the ship.  Guy gave me the emergency phone contact for Royal.....that doesn't work just Royal ships only...

I know that there has got to be an emergency contact phone number of some kind.  Can't imagine that I'm the only one that has requested this.

Did you talk with the casino manager much? We had a Host on Summit in 2020 named Alex, he was fantastic!! wondering if it could be same person? I think his girlfriend/wife also  worked in the casino….

I was wondering the same thing.   If it is the same Alex he was great!!!  I will be on the Edge next month and was hoping to see him there.

Click the Head Icon - If one is already selected -  Choose in Blue Select a different Cruise.

This will show all your bookings

Under your bookings at the very bottom - choose Browse our Ships

Select your ship and then the current cruise.

    Really not intuitive

THANKS so much.  Never would have found that without your help!!!  I even called Celebrity and they told me only menu that is available to look at is on their web site...

Edge has four main dining rooms (MDR) that are included: Cosmopolitan, Normandie, Cypress, and Tuscan.

If you have the app, look at the current sailing for Edge, and there are menus for every night, every venue. I am cruising on Edge March 6, and that sailing does not have the menus yet, but the current one does.

Your husband can still order chicken every night. I don’t know who told you that was gone, but that’s not correct.  But they have condensed the menu compared to just a few months ago.

I just signed on to the app and all I am seeing is my trip.  How do you find the menus for the current sailing?

  14. I usually sail on the M Class ships but this time my husband and I are taking the Edge in April.   I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the new menu on the Edge MDR.  He is a very picky eater just likes plain meat and potatoes.  He got along fine when they had the old menu where he could order steak or chicken but from what I understand now that's gone.

Also need to know if there are other dining areas beside the Oceanview Cafe that are free on this ship for dinners.  Thanks in advance.

One of the joys of sailing on a smaller ship is that they often anchor and tender into small ports that larger ships can’t handle. Downside: sometimes tendering isn’t an option.

Skipping Little Bay, Monserrat today, now sailing towards St. Kitts as a back-up port of call. The wave swells were too high to allow for safe tendering…

The staff and crew have made it all a very smooth transition.

Other than skipping Monserrat, have the seas been calm or choppy for most of your trip?

We are on the Star Pride right now and were unable to visit Montserrat yesterday due to high waves making it impossible to board the tenders.  The captain motored to St. Kitts instead.  The crew quickly arranged some alternate excursions for St. Kitts.

Wow.  Sorry to hear that but at least you got to go to St. Kitts.  I love going to Carambola Beach Club there.  How have the Seas been during your trip in general?
