  1. Does anyone have a list of the best cabin numbers for the cove balconies on the Vista that don't have an obstruction and are quiet with no noise from the deck above?  I recall seeing this before on this board but can't seem to find it.  Also it would help if there are specific cabins to avoid.

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

  2. I've stayed in both but liked the sweet 16 the best.  Pros and cons for both..  Sweet 16 rooms seemed more quite since its closer to the front and not as much foot traffic.  If possible try for 6030 or 6035.  No one on 1 side of the balcony.  But it is a hike to the sunset bar.

Much cheaper in cost as well ..but..in the event of rough seas you may experience much more movement in the front.  Everytime we have gone seas were flat.

  3. What are the best 7c cove rooms that don't have the lifeboat or other obstructions.  Also, don't want a connecting room either.

I tried to look in the section that reviews the cabins but they aren't in order or maybe I was looking at the wrong thing.

I received a notice from PG today that my June 3 cruise was cancelled. PG offered two alternate cruises that I could book at the same price as the June cruise, but neither works for my travel schedule. They also offered a future cruise certificate but it would only be valid for two years. Since several health experts are predicting another global pandemic within the next two years and there is uncertainty about the future of the travel industry, I don't want to risk losing my money on a future cruise.

I called customer service and was told that because I booked in Oct. 2019, I was only entitled to a future cruise certificate for a cancellation. I could request a refund in writing, but it would take at least 120 days before their vice president would decide whether to approve a refund and how much the amount would be.

For cruises that PG cancelled, has anyone received a refund instead of the future certificate? If so, did you get the full amount paid refunded or did they withhold a percentage?

I would call my credit card company asap about this.  I was booked for last year and they refused a refund so I let my CC company deal with it.  Got all of my money back and no adm. charges either.

They canceled the cruise, not you.  You should be entitled to a full refund because of that... unless they changed the terms and conditions of their ticket contract when you booked your cruise.  Good luck.

I was originally booked on the Jun 2020 cruise, PGC has had my deposit since 8/28 and my full payment since March of 2020.  I paid over US21000.

My Canadian TA talked me into re-booking on on the July cruise, then Oct. 2020 cruise. and then again on the June 2021 cruise.  The TA told me that as long as I re-booked 31 days I would not loose anything and just pay the increased cruising cost.  The TA has told me all refund request were denied by Paul Gaugin.

How did you all go about requesting a refund.

    1.  Do I have to wait for the cruise to be cancelled and NOT re-book a future cruise at this time to get my money back?

2.I know that some post comments on social media.  Is that the best way?    Which SM Platform?

Just my thoughts here but PG should have just moved your reservation from the Oct. 2020 cruise to the June 2021 at no additional cost to you.  We were scheduled last year as well and when PG canceled the cruise they told us no refunds.  I called my credit card company and after a few weeks got a full refund...

Not sure if that will work for you UNLESS PG cancels the cruise.

As skynight has stated, it is VERY IMPORTANT to have NO UPGRADE on your account!

What Princess sees as an upgrade is very not an upgrade in the Customer's opinion!

Some agents are not too savvy!. We were on an Alaskan cruise with my Father-in-law and two other couples. The owner of the agency did not properly link us as traveling together and my FIL

was moved to a cabin that Princess deemed as an upgrade. It really was not... it was just further

away from us (on the aft) and heading to the middle of the ship.

Thanks.   Would hate to do all this research on the cabins and get on board only to find out I was... upgraded...  going to go with a BD on Dolphin deck

@fedexretiree if you are currently booked into a BB under the "Best Sale Ever" promotion, ask your travel agent to switch you to one of the BD rooms on Dolphin Deck.  It should be at the same price as "Best Sale Ever" includes a location upgrade from BF up to BB (and anything in between).  If you booked under another promo then pricing/perks could be subject to change.

If your agent does not understand this, or is unwilling to make the change, you may not be working with the right agent!  It's a simple 30-45 second change using the Princess travel agent system, even if changing pricing/promos is necessary.

GREAT INFO THANKS... we were booked under Best Sale Ever..

If you go to the Princess website and click on "Onboard Our Ships", then under

Ship Information, click on "Deck Plans" and then go to Enchanted Princess and click on

    her Deck Plans.

It will be easy to compare the sizes of the balconies.

For example, go to the Dolphin Deck and you will see the two sizes of balconies.

D146 is great and D144 is not.

    awesome...thanks

  9. We are booked right now in cabin 6298 on the Equinox and was wondering which is a better cabin, 6298 or 6155?   I have several questions and hope that someone that has stayed in these rooms can help.  Which one of these rooms would you prefer?

    1. Both appear to have a larger balcony which is something that we want.   Is 1 of them larger than the other?

    2.  Looking at the pictures that I could find on the sticky it also appears that 6155 has a bit more of an obstruction than just the blue roof on 6298 is this true?

    3.  Quiter cabin would be preferred but 6155 is not quite as far of a walk is it noisy in that area.  (Nether one of us has mobility issues so that isn't a problem.)

Thanks in advance for all of the help.

  10. We normally sail on the Celebrity Summit but since they pulled out of SJU we are looking at the Enchanted Princess for March 2022.

I was needing help to find a good cabin in either BE or BD category.  On the Summit they have the "Sweet 16" cabins that have a huge  balcony and I was wondering if there is anything like that in the BD or BE on this ship.  I know this is a brand new ship but is it similar to the Royal Princess or any others so that I could see pictures on line?

I saw that cabin E424 appears to have a larger balcony but want some feedback as to which cabins are good and which to avoid.

I would take the refund and look at other cruise lines.  Compared to the competition, the current prices are ridiculous.

Yes you got that right about the prices.  For this Equinox trip balcony is 2100 pp.  We moved our deposit from the Summit and were told we can get a full refund before final payment.  I am keeping all other options open for better pricing down the line, if not I think we may end up canceling this.

Shame of this all is the day that I got word about the Summit canceling was the same day this all inclusive went into play.  Had we known about this a day or so before I'll bet we could have moved our perks and gotten better pricing, .. Oh well...coulda, woulda, shoulda.

  12. Heard from my TA this week that all of the Celebrity cruises from SJU have been cancelled.  Guessing that it is due to the port situation.  I will truly miss the Summit, its crew and all of the great trips that we have taken on her.

I was wondering if anyone that was booked on this trip had any luck with getting shifted to the 12 night Equinox on 1/9/22 for the same cost.

Celebrity offered to put us on the Silhouette on 1/4/2022 and said it was comparable but its not, only 10 nights and 5 ports.   Losing 5 ports and 2 days on that one doesn't sound comparable to me.

I tried to get Celebrity to put us on the Equinox which is 12 days and 7 ports (more comparable) than the Silhouette but they refused.  The cost per person on the Equinox is 675.00 more per person.

My friend and I chose the Summit due to the fact that we really don't care for a lot of sea days and the Summit had 10 ports in 12 days, and was perfect for us.

I didn't know that 6240 was an option for you.  We are booked in that same stateroom  on Eclipse next year.  Definitely go for that one.  It has the huge balcony on the hump, 2 and 1/2 times the size of 6302.  It has bed by the balcony, and the view might be a little obstructed by one of the boat davits, but I wouldn't let that worry you.  🍷

Thanks.. This one isn't directly on the hump but on the angle to the hump.

I have read some reviews about "white noise in these cabins"  not sure if that would bother me or not.

Wonder if there is a difference between the noise level between the  Equinox and Eclipse.
