Hope you have a lovely time. In 7 AQ trips we have never seen a child on board. Pool is tiny and there is really not much for kids to do. I suggest you bring games and whatever else might catch the kids' interest. Internet connection is iffy at best - or at least it was on our last trip which was almost 3 years ago.

Thanks! Just ordered some.

My goodness, after all you have been through, rescheduling and (if I recall correctly and it was you) having issues with your TA, what an unfortunate set of circumstances. AQSC could certainly have been more accommodating. I am sorry you went through that and truly hope your river trip is lovely.

You can easily get 2 suitcases under the bed.

Agree about the singles. I called the other day to book any cruise this summer that was round trip Boston. Only 1 single cabin available the whole summer, so I grabbed it even though I would have preferred another date.

You can call the hotel to get official check-in time. It is probably 3 or 4 PM. However, we have stayed there a few times before AQ trips and have been able to check in early once our room was ready.

How awful.

They clearly show that there is a $500 administrative fee for cancellations. No fun, but that should not have been a surprise if you read their terms and conditions.
And again, every cruise line wants to deal with the TA if you have used one. Certainly they should have told you this on your first call.

I have already called twice and was told it would be posted within a few weeks……it’s over a month now. I have not had this problem with Windstar, Cunard or any other cruise line. I think I might report this to my credit card company and see if they can “expedite” this somehow.
You are lucky if you did not have this problem with other cruise lines. I waited MONTHS for a large credit from Princess - and that was after filing a credit card dispute.

We were in a B category room last time - I think it was 415. It had a built in chest of drawers just outside the bathroom door. A closet was on the other side of that door. We were in that cabin for 21 days and felt we had enough storage. The cabin layouts are NOT identical within categories.
We have been in B, C, A, AA and AAA (I know they have changed the names of the categories) and only the C was a bit too tight for our comfort. B's are our favorite due to price, size and location.

The website and the brochures give the square footage of the different categories of cabins. The inside cabins I have seen from just walking around are VERY small. The bed takes up most of the floor space. I personally would not be happy with an inside cabin. As others have said, even the outside cabins are not spacious, but at least there is some room to move.

We recently cancelled two trips - back to back so they were separate reservations. We got one refund within a couple of weeks but the other took about 6 weeks with at least 3 "begging" phone calls.

Even in normal times, expecting perfection is setting yourself up for failure! We have always tried to appreciate the experience as a whole. You will have a fine time, I am sure.

Just a couple of days ago I received a large brochure "2022 Voyage Collection" - very different from previous brochures. On page 6 it states (among other all-inclusive items) "Unlimited beverages including an extensive wine list, choice spirits, local craft beers and specialty coffees".

It's been a couple of years - duh - since we were onboard, but there was also a small spa and you could use OBC for treatments.

Nope. Gratuities are not paid with OBC....you pay them, and other things, on your final statement at the end of the cruise.
Agreed.

I wrote to them asking for a full refund and I have not heard anything back. I will send them this in the morning. Thanks for posting.
Did you get Covid?

American Queen Steamboat Company. 4 boats: American Queen, American Countess, American Duchess and American Empress. Or am I missing one?

On the American Queen there is a small self-service laundry room. If memory serves, two or three washers and dryers. It was popular!

I will just be happy to be back on board and on the river!!
Amen!

Wandb, we have only done part of that stretch of the river. Love Madison IN, Cincinnati is interesting and we have enjoyed Maysville KY as well. Have not been to Point Pleasant or Marietta or Pittsburgh.
I don't think you can go wrong!
Covid on ACL CONSTITUTION

Not sure you can blame the cruise line. Covid is EVERYWHERE, and probably will continue until just about everyone gets it. Fortunately, it is usually mild for those who have been vaccinated.
