Anyone have a phone number for someone that is specifically dealing with this problem? IT? Or a specific customer service person? I cannot log in either and have tried multiple times. I think I may also be one of the unfortunate ones where they have created a second account for me after one of my attempts to complete the "missing information". Who knows? I can access my current booking via the booking number, so that is something. But I am not pleased I cannot log in and look at my account profile or captain circle information.

I am happy to report that we could register our credit card without a PIN. No problem. We have a chip card and had to put it in as a chip (not swipe)and we were asked to sign, not provide a PIN. The written directions they provided indicated a PIN is required with a debit card. I took photos of the verbiage but can't upload them now. So, rest assured, no PIN in the U.S. was required with a chip credit card.

We've booked the transatlantic from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton (with a few ports in Iceland ) next year and are requesting a PIN in anticipation of that trip just in case. As well, we plan to spend a few days in England at the end so it could be helpful.

We leave on Sunday....We are from the U.S. and are leaving out of Port Canaveral. We have a chip card, but no PIN. We will see what happens....

I was trying to go back into web check-in to register a credit card and cannot do so. The ship does keep spinning for me also and the page won't load. I've tried a few times today.
Fortunately we already have our e tickets and can register our card on the ship, but it would be nice if the website worked properly.
Maybe call MSC customer service?

Jaraspark,
We are going on the Divina on Sunday and have never gone out of Port Canaveral before. Is check in easy there? Were you able to show your covid test results on your phone, or did you need to print them out?
We have been on both Seashore and Divina and did think the Divina buffet was actually better as well. The pizza choices were better on the Divina!

That is interesting. I'll report back what happens to us!

Hank,
There is a thread on Facebook's MSC group addressing this that I just found. Apparently at least on the MSC Seashore (which currently is doing cruises out of Miami), the self serve kiosks are requiring require a PIN with a credit card. We were on that ship in February and did not have to provide a PIN so this appears to a new requirement. We are going on the Divina so we will see if we have the same issue.
-
We received an additional email from MSC with the following additional verbiage regarding registering the credit card and requiring a PIN. So this has us concerned that somehow this is a new requirement. Anyone recently on the Divina have an experience with this when registering a credit card for a Caribbean cruise departing out of Florida????

Thank you!

I received an email from MSC discussing registration of credit card and debit card on board and it specifically mentions providing a PIN code.
We have registered a credit card, not a debit card, on 2 other MSC cruises and do not recall ever having to provide a PIN code. All cruises we have taken on MSC departed from the U.S. and went to Caribbean and Mexico. Does anyone know if a PIN code somehow is now required for such cruises when using a credit card, not a debit card. If so, we will call our credit card company and select a PIN code to go with our card.

I saw the requirements on MSC website and was worried it meant a printed copy was needed, although it could be read more broadly to possibly mean is a digital certificate of test results will suffice. I have also read contradictory Facebook posts - some saying printed copies were required and some that said they showed test results on their phones at check-in. We will opt for being on the safe side and each print out a pdf of our Emed results to bring to the port.
-
We have done the Emed tests for both Royal Caribbean and Princess cruises and it has worked smoothly. We were able to show our negative test results on our phone during check in.
Does anyone know if MSC requires us to print out the test results or can we just have them on our phone to show? We are leaving from Port Canaveral on the Divina in a few weeks.

Oo. That is a very good question. I don't know the answer! That might be important for my friend to find out in case she really doesn't make it in time!
-
One final question… what happens with daily gratuities if only one ends up in the cabin? If it is just me and my friend is a no show will I be charged two sets of daily gratuities?
-
Thanks, ReneeFLL. Very helpful. Maybe airline situation will be more stable later in the summer and this won't be such a concern ! We shall see what happens.
-
Just want to confirm you were not charged a single supplement charge after you told them the other passenger didn't make it due to an airline issue.
-
Hopefully this is all worry for nothing. But I appreciate the advice if the worst does happen and she misses boarding!
-
That's a relief. I am so worried she will not make it given the airline chaos. If she does miss her flight and I hear from her definitively before I board that she won't make the cruise, do I need to tell them when I check in? I assume she will get her port fees and taxes back but lose her cruise fare.
-
I will be traveling later this summer to go on the Allure of the Seas. I am driving to the port as I am local, but my friend is flying from the Northeast to board the ship. We are sharing a cabin. She is flying the day of the cruise. I know. A major mistake... But she can't fly in the day before. So what happens if her flight is delayed or cancelled and she misses the ship? Specifically, will I be charged a single supplement on top of my already paid fare if I go on the cruise?

FireEater, thanks so much!!!!! Very helpful information.

We are booked on Divina for late July. A couple of quick questions. When the ship is docked at Ocean Cay, are the on board shops and casino closed? Also, do you happen to know what the charge is for a small cup of gelato or for chocolate drinks at Venchi? Finally, where did you do off-port parking ?
We have not sailed out of Port Canaveral before so this will be a new experience. Looking forward to a short cruise!

Cruise Suzy, thanks for the chart. Very helpful.
Antarctica and Polar Ice Cap cruises after Jan 2022?
in Princess Cruises
Posted
We went on Princess South America/Antarctica cruise in Dec. 2019 and had a balcony room. We spent a huge amount of time on our balcony and also on the open decks. The temps were in the low 30s F and it even snowed briefly one morning, but we were fine bundled up with layers. We would scoot into our room to warm up every so often. It was the most amazing cruise-- the scenery was just breathtaking. I am glad we had the balcony. We used it so much that we are booking a balcony to go on a transatlantic from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton via several ports in Iceland. We think the scenery justifies the balcony.
