I have seen a few posts with this recently, and its a great idea. I have never seen this on my ships, most recent cruises on Royal, Enchanted, Majestic,  Regal. Maybe its only certain ships, as the OP is on Sky?

We got back last week from the Fire & Ice Transatlantic on the Island Princess from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton and they had this list of the buffet daily menu specials. It was helpful in planning when we might want to eat dinner in the buffet instead of the MDR.

I guess this means the Island Princess does not have the motion sensor lighting installed in the cabins yet. We will be on the Transatlantic departing Ft. Lauderdale on May 26, so we have time to purchase your suggested night light. Thank you for this link.

That hotel is connected directly to Terminal 4 by an overhead walkway. Terminal 4 has its own (separate) tube and train stations underneath the terminal.

You can EITHER take the new Elizabeth line train to Liverpool Street (every 30 mins), then change on to the Circle line tube and go two stops to Tower Hill. That is the more expensive but slightly quicker option - about an hour.

OR you can take the Piccadilly line tube (every 10 mins), get off at Hammersmith and from the adjacent platform take a District line train to Tower Hill. The whole journey will take around 1 hour 20 minutes but is a bit cheaper.

To get from your hotel to Terminal 3 it’s one stop on either the Piccadilly or Elizabeth lines to Heathrow T2&3, then follow the underground passageways. That’s a free journey BUT you’ll need to ‘touch in’ and ‘touch out’ with a contactless debit or credit card (or Apple Pay/Google Pay) to get through the ticket barriers: you won’t be charged though.

Thank you so much for all this information. This is extremely helpful. Two additional questions.

First, any idea what the cost is for the more costly option into London to the Tower area you mentioned?

And second, if you could provide an estimate, how long does it take to get from hotel to terminal 3 when we want to get to the airport to get our flight back to the U.S. just trying to figure out when to leave for airport for a 9:30 a.m. flight. I know we need to be at airport several hours early.

    thank you again!

  4. We are booking the Princess transfer to Heathrow and are staying at the Holiday Inn Express, Terminal 4 in mid June. I assume we can ask the transfer to drop  us at terminal 4 so we can hopefully easily get to the hotel.

Then we want to go into London to do some sightseeing the next day and wonder what is the best way to get from the Holiday Inn Express into the city to see The Tower. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Finally, two days later we depart on a 9:20 flight from Heathrow terminal 3 on Virgin Atlantic. Any suggestions how to get to the correct terminal since I know the Holiday Inn Express is not near terminal Virgin Atlantic departs from?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I filled out the online form over the weekend and received notification this afternoon. I’m now diamond. Thank you for your helpful advice!

We are Diamond and currently on the Meraviglia. To make your dinner reservations they ask you to go to Ocean Cay restaurant on deck 6 between 9:30 a.m. and I think 5:00 p.m. and they make reservations there for any of the specialty restaurants. I made our diamond benefit reservation at 9:45 a.m. the day after we embarked and waited in line for 15 minutes to do so. Enjoy the Diamond benefits!!!

In preparing for our Alaska cruise this past June, I deleted the information regarding my expired passport and I saved the new info in the medallion app...but when we checked in, the old info showed up on Princess tablet even though the medallion app on my phone showed the updated passport information. How strange is that !

So... now what I am doing in prepration for future cruises on Princess, I used the web based version of the cruise personalizer and entered the new passport information. We will see what happens the next time we check in !

  7. Interestingly, through chat, the agent fixed up adding the second passenger, but the next day for some reason my primary registration was not considered completed. I waited one more day and then when I hit the " complete guest information" button it worked and my reservation information was able to be completed. All is working well now. I have added an internet package and I can make final payment before the Sept 19 due date.

  8. Just booked our first Celebrity Cruise. We have cruises extensively on Princess but are branching out !

I am having difficulty with the website. I go in to manage my reservation to add guest details and the website will not respond when I click to add guest details. I briefly glimpse the page that should fully load allowing me to add guest information and then it disappears. I tried calling last night but the hold time was crazy.  So before I try calling again, I wanted to see if anyone else has this problem. Our final payment is due Sept 18 and website says it cannot process payment until all the guest info is added. Oh, and I joined the Captains Club, received a number, and now that has disappeared. When I login it now says Captain Club number is pending. Maybe IT is just having problems!

    1. Choose ENGLISH.
    2. Scroll down past userid/pswd to "Use Booking Number" in blue.  Click on that.
    3. Type in First Name, Last Name, Booking Number (6-alphanumerics), Birthdate.
    4. Click on "Login with Booking Number".

    You should be in now.

I AM IN!!!!! Thank you so much for all the help! I guess I still can't get into my captain circle information, but hopefully somehow that will get resolved! I cannot thank you enough! I am in the GREEN LANE!

Hmmm. Cancel worked for me. Maybe, you used one of the CC #s that generated when you tried to fill out that stupid "your account is missing some info" form.

Nothing would surprise me. The only saving grace is my husband's account is fine so we could do all the medallion stuff via him if need be and our next Princess cruise isn't until May! We were going to book one for Feb but chose MSC instead (which has its own internet/website issues! ).

If the Princess people delete additional captain circle numbers which I assume I now have, maybe I'll be able to get into my medallion again.

  11. I chose cancel and then I get a screen to log in with my user name and password  which sends me back to" link the booking". So I cannot get into the medallion thing via the web but I can get into my personalizer to book excursions etc. Just ridiculous. I will try the medallion app on my phone when I am back home tomorrow (I am on a cruise ship which is NOT Princess at the moment. 🙂 )

Were you attempting to LINK a booking or attempting to login with Confirmation Number/Name/Birthdate?  Do not try to link a booking - not even sure why they have that out there for guests.

I was able to get into the booking using the booking number, my name, and birthdate. Then I clicked on the web  version link to medallion section and I did try to link booking and it said it was already claimed.

So, I cannot log in the normal way to my account to see any of the captain circle info etc, but I can log into the booking cruise personalizer. I cannot then get into the medallion check in stuff on the web. So it is still a mess.

I sent an email and got the standard "we will get back to you...we are very busy"...we will see what happens.

  13. I am on the same cruise and am appalled at the internet speed. But, we found similar issues both on Princess and Royal Caribbean this Spring.  As for the "no TV channels  other than the MSC own informational channels", I do not understand what is going on with that. We also like to watch news occasionally. But, it is only a 4 day cruise for us, so we check google news occasionally and that works.

We are in a Bella guarantee inside on deck 11 and it is quiet and fine, even though the room is pretty small. We felt we got what we paid for!

We have found the food and entertainment to be good. All in all this has been a fine cruise. We even booked a cruise on the Meraviglia for February. That ship looks like it will be quite amazing. The current sale and future cruise goodies made it too hard to pass up.

  14. I tried getting into my booking and it says it has already been claimed....So I bet I am one of those people who now having multiple captain circle numbers...So, I just did an email to start the process for them to delete multiple additional captain circle numbers (if indeed that is part of the problem) and asking them to fix my account so I can log in using my captain circle number that is associated with all my prior 37 cruises. They need to fix this problem. We are not booking any additional cruises on Princess right now. I love Princess but this is ridiculous.

Well that settles it, balcony it will be. Youse have thoroughly convinced me.

You won't regret it! We also saw several whales right outside our balcony playing around and got a great video of it. It was magical. And when we saw it snowing briefly on our balcony....It was great. And the first time we saw an iceberg we happened to be in our cabin....It is worth it for so many reasons!
