  1. What's the easiest way to find healthy food for a baby? Ask for a low-sodium menu? My 17mo eats well right now, but I try to only give her whole foods, nothing packaged. She will be just fine eating what we eat, I just am wondering if there are any tricks!

Are high chairs readily available at the various restaurants?

Also, do you take a stroller? How big? I was hoping to get by with a ring-sling and an Ergo.

We didn't order anything special, just fed her off my plate. But there was plenty she could have; fresh fruits and veggies.

High chairs were easy to find in the buffet and MDR.

I took an umbrella stroller and it was perfect!

  2. We sailed in November with our then 10 month old daughter. She had also only had homemade food at that point. I packed enough of the organic baby food pouches for the week and only used two of them...that was during times off the ship. There is plenty of appropriate food on the ship! For breakfast I would give her oatmeal, grits, breakfast potatoes and fresh fruit cut to tiny bits. At lunch and dinner there were always plenty of fruits, veggies, pasta, rice, even meat I could cut up for her to eat. And she only had two teeth at the time. She also loved chewing the crusty breads at the buffer and dinner! We had a great trip with her and our 4 year old :)

  3. On my last cruise in November I tipped $100 extra but I had asked him to vacuum the floor each day since we had a 10 month old crawling around. I feel like he actually did it because the first couple of days I put a small piece of paper in a few spots to check if they were gone. I honestly wouldn't have said anything if I felt he weren't doing it, but I would have been more careful letting the baby on the floor and I wouldn't have tipped as much extra. I typically tip at least a little extra regardless whether we have any special requests...we've always had good service.

  4. I don't know the answer to your sea pass question, but I personally chose not to sail last year at 22 weeks...even though I was perfectly within the rules and my doctor signed the release form, I just couldn't take the risk of something happening on that ship and denying my baby even a remote chance to live. Dramatic, maybe, but that was my choice...just not worth the risk! I also buy really good travel insurance and didn't lose my money.

  5. We just cruised with our 4 year old and 10 month old in November and I didn't feel like dragging them around site seeing or shopping, so we did a beach day at Nachi Cocom. It's relaxing, quiet, all inclusive (worth it even without alcohol since you are expecting) and there's not a bunch of water toys that you have to chase the 2 year old around on. Your child will probably enjoy the ocean, pool, and playing in the sand! Mine certainly did. Hope you have a great trip!

  6. I didn't have to show my card, in fact I offered it to them and they told me they didn't need it since I set everything up online. Even if you don't plan to spend a dime onboard they make you set up an account secured with either cash or credit.

  7. I'm not sure of the distance between Falmouth and Montego Bay (have only docked in MoBay) but we thoroughly enjoyed a day pass at Sunset Beach Resort in MoBay with our 3 year old son. Great pools and water slides. Several beach options and it was an all inclusive. Taxis are available but be sure you explain you are ONLY interested in your destination and NOT any additional stops. They will try to talk you into going to shops, but you don't want to do that...

Have a great trip! We love Jamaica but know to be aware and stay safe.

  8. Is this $49.95 per person or per cabin? I'm trying to book it right now for my March Triumph cruise and it says "add guest" and looks like it charges per person. First time using this and I don't want to mess up.

    Thanks in advance!!

  10. Well, just to update...my friend called several days in a row at the taxi companies suggestion but no red camera was ever turned in. While I'm bummed about it, it is what it is. Thanks for all your suggestions on here!

  11. I loved the fire and ice pedicure!! Tips are not included and they do offer specials on port days, but I want to go off the ship on port days, not go to the spa! I have never had anyone call my stateroom to sell products, but I also tell them I already order Elemis products online so they don't hassle me to buy (I really do buy the body wash, love it)...even if I didn't already order this stuff I would say I do to avoid the sales pitch. Have a wonderful trip, your GF will appreciate whichever treatment selected I'm sure!

  12. We just took our kids on Sunshine last week and are now booked for just us on a 4day Triumph in march for our 15th anniversary. Our first trip without kids and while I'm nervous I'm also excited!
