I checked off Standard without really thinking much about it. I don't see us changing. It comes down to drinks for the most part.
We get Elite mini-bar
The same. DH does not drink and I am a light drinker. Between the two bottles of wine we are allowed and the mini bar; I don't need much more. I expect we can still bring canned soda on board and will do so in a week or so when we board in NYC.

Cruise director Jody is fantastic
Couldn't agree more and look forward to seeing her in just under 2 weeks. Sounds like you're out and about and hope that you are fully recovered.

Was thinking about the one on the Grand as I've actually never been on that ship.. A bit early in the season, tho'.
-
Just turned blue but hadn't ordered medallion as we are not "home" for the summer and board on 8/14. Not too concerned but without paying the premium prices we keep getting lower in the food chain even being "Elite" (not so much any more..)

Does anyone know if CD Jody is leaving CB? I was praying that she was going to still be on in two weeks when we leave NY for our cruise to Greenland but just received an email with DuVaul listed as the CD. I would hate to miss her on this cruise as we absolutely loved her on our Enchanted cruise this past December.

Crane operator stayed to try to put out the fire but escaped safely. Thankfully, no fatalities. Surrounding buildings evacuated for safety precautions.

Hmm, my August 21 cruise on the Emerald is the start for that ship. Should be interesting
Same for us on CB on August 14th. Yes, I know the contract states that they can make changes at will but AFTER final payment is a low blow. You can't even cancel if you don't like the new policy. I'm not even sure of the value of Elite status these days but see that going by the wayside soon...

So happy to hear about your wonderful experience on that cruise. We're doing it next summer and followed Jeter02 every step of the way. It sounds like Princess really stepped-up to make this a comfortable cruise for your DS and that it may encourage him to continue on with his journeys. Congrats for being willing to take the step (and chance) of taking this wonderful journey together!

@Jeter02 A million thanks for the great review! I can not wait until our turn next year. I will keep this link to remind me of all of the special places you have found! Keep up the great work ~ it sounds like you have found a great following. Enjoy Alaska ~ love that place!

It has been consistently around the 60 day mark until very recently. We also leave in under 45 days and are unable to request a boarding group. We'll just show up when we want. Sure do miss the old days of priority boarding....

Was your original booking an inside cabin?
No. As stated; Deluxe Balcony. I didn't know that there was a "cut-off" of cabins to bid on based on your original booked cabin. Guess I must have missed that somehow if it was posted when the bidding process was initiated. We were offered all 7 categories above ours and can't imagine why Princess wouldn't offer all cabins to anyone. I certainly wasn't interested in bidding on the Penthouse Suite at $2K+/pp but at least it was offered...

The highest you'll be offered is all balcony types. No mini-suite or above.
When did that change? We were offered mini-suite and above for our Enchanted cruise this past December when we were booked in a Deluxe Balcony.

Skagway White Pass Rail excursion
Highly recommend this as an independent excursion which we did years ago. You will love it if it's a clear day ~ wonderful trip ~ lovely views.

Those days are long gone. I got to enjoy it for a short time but that was several years ago.

Are you sure this is the same circumstance the OP is questioning?
Sorry. You are absolutely correct. Me thinks I need a strong cup of coffee this a.m. Thanks for the correction of my misdirection...

Following. We'll be doing this cruise at the same time next year with a slight variation of ports. Love your pix of Tronheim and can't wait to see it for myself next June. I know you don't use ship excursions, but do you have any idea when they had been released for your cruise? They still haven't been posted for ours which seems odd. TIA. Keep up the great work. I can NOT wait for this trip!!

Yes, you can. You need to get the permission from Princess in advance. We are cruising out of NYC in August and requested permission to debark at our last port of call (St. John's, NL) rather than return to NYC. It's called a "Route Deviation Request" and, once approved, Princess will send you a confirmation that clearly states your requested deviation as well as it showing under your booking details in your cruise personalizer. Mine now looks like this:
We use a TA, so we requested the change through her but expect it's easy enough to do by yourself if you booked on your own. People do this all of the time around the world.
-
I've never bought this but may give it a try. Do they have an expiration date? TIA.
-
I never get off of the ship with any questionable charges on my account. If this has happened to you multiple times; I would think that you would monitor your portfolio very closely. Once you leave the ship it will be near impossible to get this straightened out without a big waste of your time..

Entertainment-Jodi is a wonderful Cruise and Entertainment Director.
Love her and hope she is still there for our cruise in August. She was on our 20 day Enchanted b2b. That young lady rocks ~ love her energy! Have only been on CB once six years ago ~ no issues then and hope we're just as lucky this summer.

Still coming. Bought a new house in upstate NY and have been feverishly working to get organized after arriving over the weekend and have no time for CC right now but had an e-mail that made me check it out today...

We put ours on hold yesterday and then forwarded it to my TA to book today as it was after hours when we could finally get through. It took at least an hour with the two of us trying to get in as it kept looping after login. Glad to get our cabin of choice. Yes, prices are extremely high but we'll hold on and wait for the price drops...
