  1. I'm going in for knee replacement surgery on Tuesday. Only 3 days in the hospital and then home. Won't be able to drive for 8 to 12 weeks (according to the doctor), which for me will be the hardest part. But it will be great to be able to walk more than 5 minutes without pain. Plus, it will definitely make being on a cruise much more enjoyable. The last few cruises I've done, I've had to curtail a lot of sightseeing/exploring because of not being able to walk or climb stairs, etc.

Ouch! Wishing you well in your surgery!

88 weeks! It will go by in a flash! just think, we only have two more Christmases, Thanksgivings, birthdays etc etc etc to get thru!!! :D

  2. Just throwing this out there....I was poking around on the Grand Cayman board.

I am very excited to go to Grand Cayman again! Last time we did Rays, Reef and Rum Point Beach which was AWESOME! I love, love, LOVED the stingrays. This time, I want to go to the Turtle Farm.

I looked at a site (don't think i can mention it's name here) but first word is native, anyway, they have a stingrays, beach, and turtle farm excursion. Looks like they offer a 'group rate' which is much reduced, I believe the price was $500 for a chartered excursion, for 12 people, and about $30 for every person over that number!

I am wondering if this type of excursion as a group would be of interest to anyone. The excursion is normally $60 pp, but $500 for 12 people (USD) is a great price!

We will be going to see the turtles anyway, but if others want to join in, we are happy for that!

    Happy Tuesday! :)

  3. Yes, and sadly we had to cancel the other group cruise with Amy to book the repo/Panama cruise. But, yes, it is a chance of a lifetime. We have 2 teens, and we are taking them out of school for two weeks (many do not agree with that, but whatever!) because we feel it is an opportunity and we want to share it with our kids. We are very excited about the repo and we love the Miracle.

This B2B, if all goes well will be just Jonathan and myself, and most of the ports we have not been to yet. Very much looking forward to becoming 'officially' booked!

  4. OK, I need to chime in for this next little segment. After the guide finished up the tour he led us up the stairs to where we could hold a couple of their rescued animals. Cass had been looking forward to holding the monkey since we first booked this excursion. So after the trainer gave us the heart wrenching story of 'Little Man' (how he was fed soda and candy and was completely malnourished) he started letting us hold him for some photo ops. I knew Cass was really anxious but she insisted that since it was my birthday, I should go first. Isn't she sweet.

So here's me and Little Man

So I had to admit, this guy was pretty cute. That is until I started feeling a warm trickle down my back. Yeah, he started peeing on me. Apparently Little Man is a Yankee fan. As the trainer grabbed him he was still going and everyone had to jump back a few feet to avoid the spray. The trainers (while trying to stop laughing) were telling me it was good luck  It didn't translate to the Liberty casino is all I know.

I'll let Cass take over for the rest of the day, just thought I should post about my experience with Little Man.[/QUOT

THAT IS ADORABLE! and funny too (sorry!!!:D) I had my first experience holding a monkey in St. Kitts, and I know the feeling Cass, it is so special! They are so sweet! We held little African Green monkeys and the little guy kept on touching my lips as I was smiling at him! Memories!!!

  5. Wow!!! That is all I can say! I am SOOO happy I came upon this....We have just booked the Carnival Miracle from NYC thru the canal to LA in March of 2013! You have done an amazing job on this review and have inspired me to keep researching and learning as much as possible prior to sailing!

We are from Mississauga and it is always a pleasure to hear from fellow Canucks!

I had no idea that Cartegena was so beautiful! I have bookmarked your review and will read it over and over again in the next year!

    Cheers!

  6. I love, love, LOVE the pictures of you with the monkeys! We are booked with Victor Bodden in Feb of 2013!!! Cant come soon enough for me to get my hands on those beautiful little creatures!! I will make sure my husband has his camera ready to go that day! I want pictures of me with them too!

Loving your review and look forward to more....can't believe it is over a year away til we do this same itinerary! Keep up the great work!

  7. Hi Sailbad and NJ,

Thanks guys, I knew I could rely on you two to come up with the correct transport information.

What do you do - study the bus and ferry schedules as light reading in the bathroom?

    Have Fun!

That is hilarious! I have been thinking the same thing!!!!!!!!
