While on the subject of transferring OBC, can someone tell me if it is possible to transfer OBC from one cruise to another. I have too much OBC on one and not enough on another. Yes, I can ask Princess but would appreciate any knowledge from fellow cruisers.

When we did LA to Rio around Cape Horn late December a year or so ago the seas were quite OK but we got 3 lots of hail in the one day. Yes, sunshine one minute, hail the next etc etc etc. Hail all over the deck.

I can't answer the second part of your post but in relation to booking excursions, I recently booked excursions for an upcoming cruise and yes it was costed against my OBC and as I didn't have enough OBC I had to pay the difference.

As I am happy with insides, I wouldn’t take it up. But it is purely for you to decide.

I would second InsureandGo. I use them all the time now. Forget Covermore if you are going to the US. They do not want to know you. I used to use them but once I mentioned the USA they virtually told me to get lost.

The other problem I have with the lanyard is that you have to be careful If you are using an iPad as it will demagnetise your card ( I think that is the terminology) and you will have to get a new card so be careful if using an iPad.

We were on the Sun Princess 16 months ago and found it quite OK. It is not the newest ship around but as you say you will get all sorts of people making adverse comments. We were on it for 15 days and had no problems at all. Some things never come up to people's expectations.

From Famski740
You both will get the minutes (250 each) but this is for one device at a time. If you both sign on then you each get 250 minutes on one device each. My wife does not use the internet so when cruising, I will sign on and use my 250 minutes and when I run out of minutes I then sign on to my wife's account and use her 250 minutes.
This is exactly how we use it and if you essentially just want to check emails/write emails etc and do a little more on the internet you will find it is sufficient. I have never had to purchase additional minutes. Just make sure you logout correctly and if you see you are having problems with your time clock not stopping after you logout go and see the internet guy. I have always found them great to deal with.

From personal experience. Carry a letter from your doctor listing your prescription medication and there will be no problem but you MUST declare that you are carrying medication/drugs. If you are not surer about anything - declare it - it is easier to explain after declaring, than it is trying to think that you can get away with something.
Be very careful carrying any food as it will be problem for you. My wife (and we are Australian citizens - born and bred here) took a sealed and unopened packet of biscuits away with us (from Australia) and forgot that she still had them in her bag when she returned. Wow! was she given the third degree!!! Even though they were still sealed and unopened customs were not at all interested to hear that they were actually purchased in Australia. Needless to say it has never happened to us again

Sapphire Princess out of Sydney in 2008 and our reaction when first seeing it was WOW!!!! Our son was driving over the Cahill Expressway at Circular Quay in Sydney just after we boarded and after seeing it for the first time his reaction also was WOW!!!!

What a great photo. I haven't checked but I would have thought that Christmas cruises in Europe (which is in winter of course) would be a bit like they are here in OZ in winter - few and far between.

You are quite right Russell21. Yes I have found it. When I read your post and you said you got it in the mail I read it as though you had received an email specifically regarding the issue.
-
Russell21. Was interested to see that you got an advice from Princess about this. Wife and I are on the Fiji cruise in November and have heard nothing from Princess. Not that it is a concern as we always have travel insurance anyway.

Just a little off topic. Yes, I have been on numerous cruises (mainly Princess) and yes the Sea Princess but have never used the gyms. Have recently started using the gym where I live so will want to continue this while on board my next cruise. The question. Is there a fee for using the gym? Mainly interested in Princess ships.

As others have said Santiago is a couple of hours away from San Antonio. If you are asking about Santiago, as we have done in some other South American ports we plan to take a free walking tour - I think it is with Strawberry Walking Tours.

For the best all-round views you need to go up onto the top open decks. I'll just about guarantee you will spend most off your time up there. That was our experience on Princess a year or so ago. Why restrict yourself to one side?

While this is not really on the topic, things just seem to be getting a little harder all the time. I recently went on line to get Travel Insurance from my usual Travel Insurance company for a cruise departing in November only to be told that as I am now over 75 cover is not available until 120 days before departure. So much for having your deposit covered.

Don't do it!!!!!!!
No, just joking. Have just celebrated our 46th and don't regret a minute. Congratulations. I'm fairly conservative but I think I would consider a specialty dining experience (table for 2). Hope you both enjoy it anyway. I am sure you will.

Interesting to read comments. Had my shot a couple of years ago with no side effects and I am over 70. We were advised that the shot was good for 10 years.

Wow,! Is this thread five years old?

In 2014 we did LA to Rio on a Princess cruise and stopped at Pisco. Pisco is about 22 miles from St Martin. We did a ship tour to Tambo Colorado which was well worth it. Not only were the ruins interesting, we went through some interesting villages on the way there and back.
-
The only suggestion I would make is don't continue to think about it, just book it. We are going on the Coral Princess 5th Jan 2020 (San Antonio to BA - 16 days) and booked months ago and we have seen it fill up very quickly.
-
I can see it now. A Princess promotion. Reserve your seat for this evening’s show at only $ 25. I am surprised they have not thought of this. Maybe it will come one day sooner than later.

I have been having problems for a few days now but only on my iPad. Jumping back and forth and never actually settling down to open. I'm no IT guru but strangely I am having no problems on my desktop (Mac).
Can I transfer OBC?
