Here we go again and again and again. It really is a boring subject.
-
Formal nights on Australian cruises are no different to formal nights anywhere else in the world. Some dress up some don't. We usually do.
-
Thanks DRS/NC for posting. I have been looking at this cruise also. Would love to do it. Sounds really great. Been to Norway before and loved it. Have a great cruise.

If there is any doubt about your information being correct why don't you just contact Princess direct? When I have rung them they have always been very helpful.
-
Cafe Cornice is on Deck 8 and is used at lunchtime as a pizza parlour or at least it was on our cruise a month or so ago. At other times you will find this area occupied by people playing card games etc.

I can't help you in relation to this cruise but we just completed Sydney/Hawaii/Sydney - 35 days on the Sea Princess. The Piazza and Crooners entertainment was OK but it was just too much to have to put up with them for 35 days. No matter how good the entertainers are they have to be exceptional indeed to keep people interested 3 or 4 times each day for 35 days. Princess needs to have a look at this. It was the same on our South American cruise (over 30 days) a few years ago. The worst part of this one though was that the band was just too loud and for 30 odd days it was just too much to endure.

Did I understand you correctly; with 15 punches on a coffee card, we are limited to 15 cups of specialty coffees? That's like 1 cup each for the entire cruise.
What's the big deal - my wife and I always buy one each. Don't be so lousy.
-
Ron, sorry I can't help you with your question, but as this cruise has a great attraction for my wife and I, can I ask that you provide a review of it at sometime in the future? Many thanks.

Dear oh dear oh deary me. It's tough being Elite isn't it?

I would be interested to hear from some Aussie cruisers. I have yet to find a TA that will give me anything - certainly not discounted Princess fares. I now mostly book direct through Princess who have always honoured price drops just by calling them. Monitoring prices is not a problem and I recall the last time I went through a TA I had to tell them that there had been a price drop.

We recently did Sydney-Hawaii-Sydney on Sea Princess. A couple of weeks before departure we were informed that Suva would be missed as they needed more time at sea to attend to maintenance on the engines. We were given $100 per passenger for a missed port. Interestingly enough we also missed Bay of Islands because of weather but they didn't give us another $100 for that missed port.

While on board don't hesitate to discuss any problem you may be having with the internet cafe crew member. I have always found them to be extremely helpful. Also talk to him/her about logging off because typing in logout.com seems to have changed. It was not the way we were told to out on our recent cruise to Hawaii. Just make sure you do it correctly otherwise it will very quickly eat up your minutes.

Just off the Sea Princess after 35 days - 'free' hot chocolate (no punch ) with the coffee card almost every day so no problems at all.

I hope we can get a little more creative with the itineraries that Princess put up for the Australian cruising season for the Majestic Princess but I will not hold my breath. Particularly departing from Sydney.
How's this for a suggestion

We did the South American cruise (31 days LA to Rio) on the Golden Princess a year or so ago and there was nothing different about the clothes people wore to any other cruise we have ben on and why should there be. Princess standards are world-wide.

Check the Princess website every day for the cabin prices for your cruise - that's what I do and it seems to work.

When will we ever learn. Leave these threads alone and don't respond to them. It is just the most divisive topic.
-
Boy oh boy! This is really living on the edge isn't it?
-
Not too many live THAT dangerously. We are all very impatient - we need to know these things.

Wow! Interesting. You will note that it was my original post in 2014 that raised his whereabouts because we had had just a great time with him. Am interested to see that he has again been around Aus/NZ recently. We are off on the Sea Princess to Hawaii etc on Saturday week so hopefully he may be on board. A great entertainer.

Are you talking about exchange rates or are you talking about changes in stateroom prices?
-
Can someone please tell me why it is so important to know well in advance when the formal nights will be? It seems to be raised on many threads and I have still to work out why people can't just wait until they get on the ship then find out. It is almost like needing to know what I am going to get for breakfast next Wednesday morning. Do I really need to know?
-
You can always rely on a tipping thread to provide a heated discussion. Mind you the information is not always factual. In fact in my estimation it is rarely factual.
-
Don't rely on the adults only pool being occupied by adults only. Princess don't seem to police it at all. If they do police it they obviously don't want to upset the people who should not be using it because I have never seen them ask kids to leave.
