Thank you for the information. That's worth doing I think.
A taxi is about the same price - so that might be worth considering also

It's always a lady as far as I know, and that applies to all ships not just Cunard.
Many American ships have a male godparent

some people are saying it’s 15 drinks in total, alcoholic or not.
the limit is for alcoholic drinks https://www.pocruises.com/content/dam/po/pdfs/Drinks-packages-Terms-and-Conditions-2023-.pdf page 3 - Limits and use

It sounds to me more a case of not allowing any bad press get in the way of today's proceedings.
I was always of the impression that a ship's Captain had the last word and if he/she said you are to be confined to your cabin then you are confined to your cabin - end of.

but of course you can put some in checked in luggage
There have been recent reports that some P&O passengers that had bottles in their checked baggage were called to security to open their cases and if it was alcohol then it was impounded until the end of the cruise.
Fact or fiction I cannot vouch for.

Carnival UK are tightening the rules on taking alcohol on board - how rigorously those rules are/will be enforced is another question.

Just wondering about change over day, presuming we would have to take the car into the short stay car park until CPS are accepting cars for that cruise
The other option would be to go into Southampton, or elsewhere, for a few hours and then take it to CPS. If you leave it in the short stay car park don't forget to pay the parking fee.
Could you not arrange for CPS to handle the parking for the first cruise?

Or is it a clever piece of marketing? The Geiranger tour from olden june 27th
was originally $138, now $136.80 witn onboard price from $152. Onboard prices have usually been slightly dearer by 2 or so $ but never in my memory 10% dearer
P&O have been doing this for at least 10 years - it may be a "back door" way of raising prices
-
Apart from a couple of cans of water and a welcome bottle of champagne - nothing else is included, or replenished
-
My Cunard UK is showing 10% discount and has been for at least a week - this is for a cruise on QV in September 2024.
It may be that it is being phased in by ship and/or sailing date

Still hoping for The Princess Royal!
There are no members of the Royal Family with any scheduled engagements on Monday.
Being in Liverpool and being Queen Anne then it could be Anne Robinson😂

But how will they know if you have also brought a bottle on in your hand luggage?

I have to say that I am deeply disappointed with Cunard at the complete lie that we were fed about today being “Scenic Scottish Isles Cruising”. It is now past 7pm, we haven’t seen land all day, let alone scenic isles, and by the time we are within sight of anything it will be dark. The emergency evacuation has no relevance to this whatsoever. The itinerary that we were sold has simply not been delivered today.
Perhaps there needs to be an amendment to cruise insurance "missed sail pasts"😉

The Captain has issued a ship wide instruction, including in cabins, that those of us in balcony cabins must remain inside with the doors closed. So our neighbours are ….. yep, on their balcony 🙄
I am surprised that you are allowed to stay in your cabin as last year on Sky Princess the whole of the aft section had to vacate their cabins whilst there was a helicopter evacuation in progress.

Definitely don't buy currency on board. The rate is a total rip off.
But can work out cheaper if you only want a small amount - and I would not say a "rip off" just not as competitive as some other exchange rates.
-
As Cunard is part of Carnival UK then there may be a case under the UK Equality Act
-
Also bear in mind the new rules for mobility equipment

Totally agree, charge the difference fair enough, but the full price less 20% as @david63 stated is very underhand, more especially if you normal drink is unavailable.
As an aside - Princess only charge the difference (plus service charge on the difference).
One would think that all Carnival brands would use the same system - but I suppose that would be too simple as the passenger might know what was going on.

To make people pay the full price
I believe that there is a discount (20%?)
One other things that annoy me is that if you have a drinks package then each passenger has to order their own drink - unlike Princess where the Medallion sorts it out.

I was unaware you had that option once the upgrade was assigned
That may be something to do with the difference between US and UK booking/upgrade T&C's
