I was on board. It’s pretty much confirmed via both the staff and people who saw it happen.

A nine-year-old boy got on the boat with grandma. Father who was not on board became upset (we think grandma didn’t have permission?) and they turned around. I figure they feel a lawsuit would be more expensive than the extra cost…

dad ended up coming on board when we went back with his girlfriend.

So it sounds like Dad and the GF were late for check-in/boarding and denied .. so they threatened trouble/lawsuit since the rest of the family (with his kid) left without him ..  hey ... pretty impressive maneuver if so!

i don’t know why he would want to post the ship and sail date that he’s vacationing. There will almost certainly be some folks or “super fans” who worship him who will now run off and book that same cruise just because they know he will be there. And undoubtedly they will seek him out to go chat and talk

about Carnival with him. Some vacation that would be.

People "worship" him?   Why?   Thats kinda sad, really.

  3. I think it looks good and more elegant.  That ugly whale tail funnel  thing is getting a bit long in the tooth now anyway.    This new look reminds me of the funnel on the pre-Fantasy class ships  (original mardi Gras, Carnivale).   No reason all Carnival ships have to have the same funnel design .. especially since the livery is the same otherwise.    When you think of it,airlines have their logo on the tails of differently designed aircraft.  Same kinda thing.

What is telling is that the new blue-bow livery is not on this one .. almost makes it seem like they're intending forthis to be temporary.

It is the irrelevant word that the mods have put on people who write "LIVE" threads.

Oh .. ok thanks ... and I agree with you -- very odd choice of word for it.    "LIVE" would have been 100x better and more obvious about what it meant.

I did, and one of them was me saying I've experienced the sales pitch as well.  And while it's annoying for sure, it's not aggressive.  They offer you a product, and yes, it goes on for a few minutes (just let them finish the pitch), and you smile and nod while they are talking, and when they are done, you say, "Nah, I'll pass."  Aggressive are car salesman that call you everyday, not the massage therapist that spends a few too many minutes telling me about this product that I don't need or intend to buy.

If you read, some people got a real hard sell pushed on them... and were made to feel uncomfortable ..  and were intimidated into purchasing something ... that IS aggressive selling.  Not everybody can be as  as fierce as you, remember.

  6. I'm kinda surprised RC (and any of the other cruise lines who contract spa services out like this) allow these spa people to badger, nag and pressure their passengers.  That creates an uncomfortable environment for many and it sounds like the lines maybe need to step in and set a few guidelines for this aggressive behavior.

The majority of the ship is non-smoking. There are dedicated smoking areas. Are you telling me that a smoker won't gamble if they are forced to smoke in an outdoor designated area? They still cruised didn't they? I call total B.S. For the health of their employees and majority of passengers the casino should also be smoke free. Period.

Our local Indian casino has been smoke free since the pandemic started and guess what, that place is packed as if smoking never existed. People comply or make alternative accommodations.

Then what's your reasoning as to why cruise lines have not gone over to non smoking casinos?    You read Bayley's statement about it  .. if they felt people would just comply and deal with it, then why haven't they all done it?

No reason smokers should have to leave their gaming table or slot machine to go outside and smoke whent hey want to.   Bad enough its banned on balconies now and everywhere else, pretty much .. the non smokers can deal with it in the casino.

Don't you see an ethical problem with that - placing corporate profit over the health and well being of cruisers and staff?

Not at all.   You could say the same thing about serving liquor or fattening foods .. or gambling itself, for that matter.     It's up to each individual to police themselves.    And as for staff .. they know going into their jobs on board that they will be around smoking.
