  1. We were talking about going to Schwerin... Maybe we should look into doing it our self :-)

This is a very easy DIY excursion. For details on how to get there and back plus directions for the short walk from the station into the old town please see the Schwerin page on the web site below.

There are also a couple of useful web sites to visit for general information on Schwerin.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

    Happy cruising, :)

  2. Anni,

We will be in Travemunde on Saturday, July 27, which I understand is the second to last day of the Travemunde Week sailing festival. We certainly want to spend several hours visiting Lubeck.

Should we anticipate any unusual problems traveling by train to and from Lubeck because of the festival? How much time might we want to spend in Travemunde because of the festival? And is there anything else in the area nearby we should consider?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi, as Travemünde is virtually joined to Lübeck the transport between the two is fast and frequent, both trains and buses, so there should be no real problem. There will be more visitors around than usual but that will have been catered for, it is an annual event.

The city of Lübeck itself is the area's main attraction and an evening in Travemünde is very pleasant so I am sure you will find more than enough between the two to fill your time. For directions and on how to get from the train station to Lübeck city centre please see the relevant page on my web site.

    Happy cruising :)

  3. Hello Anni from a fellow QLDR,

We've followed your wonderful sites now for a year and think we've kept up with your updates.

We are joining Lynette where our cruise eg starts in Warnemunde. The plan I've hatched is to fly into Hamburg Friday 3:30pm, catch a train to Schwerin, stay two nights, then catch the train to Warnemunde. Post cruise, train back to Hamburg airport.

I believe DW and I can purchase a Lander ticket at the airport train station, for the 26€ for two. We'll need to switch trains in Hamburg city to get to the Schwerin line.

Can you confirm the Lander is available at the airport station or are we in the wrong state/region for that?

Is it possible to buy a through ticket to Warnemunde but still do the overnight stays or do we need to buy two more weekend tickets to go from Schwerin to Warnemunde on the Sunday morning.

Alternatively, there is discussion about a discounted ticket for visiting the Baltic coast.

Is this available to us in Hamburg, given our overnight stays in Schwerin enroute to Warnemunde from Hamburg?

Upon disembarkation we intend to return the same day to Hamburg Airport.

We are most grateful for any assistance,

    Kel and Joyce. :)

Hi Kel and Joyce, thank you for your appreciation. Your plan is great.

    To answer your questions.

    1. As you are travelling from Hamburg the Lander ticket which you need is the 'Hamburg-Schleswig Holstein Lander Ticket'. This covers Mecklenburg if travelling from Hamburg so is OK for destination Schwerin. Cost is 30€ for two people. These tickets are valid on s-bahn and RE (Red) trains only.

    2. The Lander ticket is available at the airport, from a machine. It would be much easier to purchase on-line. (Or I might be able to help here.)

    3. Landers are day tickets so you would need to buy a Mecklenburg Lander Ticket for the Schwerin-Warnemünde leg of the journey. 26€ for two people.

    4. The Baltic Coast ticket is not available from Hamburg and is only a day ticket anyhow.

I guess from the Ships Schedules that you will be arriving in Hamburg during the week prior to 20th July. I will be in Hamburg/Schwerin that week so if I can be of any personal assistance (eg getting through Hamburg) please drop me a line on anniellis@arcor.de

I would love to meet you.

    Happy cruising :)

  4. My group of four will be in port (Warnemunde) from 8am-3am.....so no worries about making it back to ship. We've scheduled a private bike tour in Berlin starting at 2pm for 4 1/2 hours.

We're trying to figure out the best transport option to get to Berlin and maximize our time there. Does anyone have info on hiring a private taxi or transport one way to Berlin? If so, how expensive?

We can return on the 8:45pm train for 40 Euro pp. The train schedule to get to Berlin might work bur leaves at 8:03am....3 minutes after ship arrival so not sure about that!

Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

Hi, sorry I can't help with the outward journey but if you decide to take the train back a cheaper option is the Quer-Durchs-Land ticket at 68 euro for four people travelling together. Valid Mon-Fr from 9 am and from 12 am on public holidays. Valid for any number of journeys on the day of validity, no matter the connection indicated. It can be bought on-line (details on my web site), from a machine or from a ticket office (2 euro surcharge).

This same ticket would be valid for your outward journey as well but the earliest you could arrive in Berlin by train would be 1.14pm.

    Happy cruising :)

  5. Anni

Spicy Red sent me to your site, and helpful, it is!! We are in Warnemunde mid July on the Royal Princess. Going by train to Rostock looks quite easy. Am I correct in reading that just the day s-bahn ticket is all we need to go to Rostock and return to the ship? It looks like you can also travel around the city of Rostock, and Warnemunde with the same ticket. Is that correct? Is buying your ticket on-line cheaper or just more convenient? Can you walk to the train station in Warnemunde or should you take a taxi?

    Thanks for your help.

    Lynette

Hi Lynette, thank you for your appreciation.

Rostock by train is very easy. The train station in Warnemünde is right alongside the cruise terminal, directions can be found on the Warnemünde page of my web site. You will be docked at P8. For a good map of the terminal and surrounds see

    http://www.rostock-port.de/en/cruise-shipping/passenger-information.html

The local day ticket covers all travel, (train, tram, bus and cross-river ferry) in Rostock and Warnemünde after 9am. Local tickets cannot be bought on-line but only from a ticket machine on the left or from the station office situated behind the shop on the right, as you come up from the subway.

  6. We have booked TJ Tours for St Petersburg and plan to do hobo in Stockholm. Take the Molli train in Warnemunde.

But we would like some ideas on what to do in Kiel. Any suggestions?

Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk HD

Hi, this question came up about 1 week ago. For one idea please see http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1963750

If you are interested in shipping and the workings of the Kiel Canal locks, with bus number 11 you can reach the Schleusenstraße where there is a public viewing platform. A free ferry runs continuously across the canal. Near the ferry landing on the opposite side is the Schleusenmuseum (Locks Museum) with the locks, and the Tiessenkai. A short walk away is the Kiel-Holtenau Lighthouse overlooking the fijord, which is not only of historical significance but also a favourite place for weddings. More information and ideas can be found at

    Thank you.

    Hi,

What an unusual (and great) Baltic Itinerary and such long port stays! I live in NE Germany so will comment on just Travemünde and Wismar.

    Travemünde

Your ship will dock at the Okai which is right in the town, a short walk from the bus station. The town is well connected to the City of Lübeck by both bus and train, a ride of about 25 mins. There is info on how to get into Lübeck city centre from the train/bus station on my web site.

Travemünde itself is a typical German seaside town, well worth spending the evening there.

Another alternative would be to visit Hamburg, just over 1 hour by train

    Wismar.

The cruise ships berth in the old harbour, a fifteen to twenty minute walk through the old town to the railway station.

With the time at your disposal it would be possible to visit three towns ie. Wismar-Rostock-Schwerin-Wismar or to stop off in Bad Doberan on the way to or from Rostock.

Trains depart for Rostock every hour at 42 mins past the hour and for Schwerin every hour at 34 mins past the hour.

Wismar itself is very interesting and a great place to stroll on a summer evening but if you wish to visit inside the churches etc. be aware that most close at 6pm.

More info on all these towns on the web site.

If you would like more details (eg bus timetables etc.) please do not hesitate to ask.

Happy cruising (from a fellow Aussie - a Banana Bender living in Germany) :)

  8. Hi Travelanni,

First of all I want to thank you for all your wonderful information! I have been on your website and looked at other sites and have come up with a plan for our day in Warnemunde on June 19th. I am just hoping that you can confirm that I have planned everything correctly. Our ship will be docked from 7-9:30.

Be at the Warnemunde train station by 8:15. Go to the ticket office and buy Lander pass for approx. 26 euros and 2 single tickets to Rostock. Catch train to Rostock, follow your directions and catch 9:07 train to Schwerin arriving at Hbf at 10:03. Follow your directions and see castle and marketplace etc.

Catch the 1:46 train from Schwerin to Wismar and arrive at 2:21. It also showed me a train leaving at 1:53 arriving at the same time. Have lunch at the Brewery and look around Wismar.

Catch the train from Wismar to Rostock at 4:42 and arrive in Rostock at 5:51

Buy single tickets back to Warnemunde and should be back in Warnemunde by 6:30 giving us 2 hours to look around.

My few questions are: Can we buy return single tickets for Warnemunde to Rostock and Rostock to Warnemunde? Do I have to validate the single tickets and the Lander ticket in the orange boxes? Is the Station for Wismar just called Wismar?

    Thank you so much!

    Trish

Hi Trish, thank you for your appreciation, glad to be able to help.

A good plan but just a couple of points:-

It would be advisable to be at the station as early as possible. You really need to aim for the 8:18 s-bahn to Rostock with the 8:33 as plan B. Buying the tickets will take time especially if there is a queue. If you miss the 8:33 it is impossible to catch the 9:07 to Schwerin. You could buy the Lander ticket on-line but the single tickets have to come from a machine or the ticket office.

The 1:46 train from Schwerin is the through train to Wismar but it waits about seven minutes in the station at Bad Kleinen. The 1:53 is the Schwerin to Rostock train so you must change trains in Bad Kleinen but as you only have 3mins you have to be quick and it can be a bit tricky if you are not familiar with the station layout. From there it is the same train. I would opt for the through train at 1:46.

    To answer your questions:-

You do not need a separate ticket to return from Rostock to Warnemünde as the Lander ticket covers all travel after 9:00 but in any case only singles are available on the s-bahn.

You only need validate the single tickets as the Lander ticket is already dated.

The station appears in the timetable as Wismar (Meckl) Bahnhof or simply Wismar, there is only one station.

    Happy cruising :)

  9. There are a whole lot of restaurants along the canal in Warnemunde, you just need to walk through the train station and turn right, on both sides of the canal and main street. If its a nice day ... walk all the way up to the beach and just enjoy the sea side (lake side LOL) Bring a pail so the little one can dig in the sand.

Thanks, Sauer-kraut. Exactly my answer but the time difference between Chicago and Germany means that you are still awake when I am asleep so you beat me to it. A good choice for a day with a 'littlie'.

However, for the benefit of cruisers considering staying in Warnemünde a couple of points need to be explained.

It is not a CANAL, it is a HARBOUR for fishing boats and pleasure craft (tour boats, yachts etc.) Formerly the mouth of the river, it was blocked off at the landward end when the present shipping channel was cut further east. It is called the 'Alter Strom' or 'Old Stream'. The street to the right before the bridge is the fish market with fishermen smoking and selling fish right beside the boats, lots of good fish restaurants and stalls selling fishy snacks here. The pedestrian street on the other side is called 'Am Strom' and is the main tourist area for souvenir shops and cafes but the market square and main street of the town are several streets further back. In between are a couple of streets lined with old fishermen's cottages, mostly now converted into holiday apartments but still keeping their exterior charm, well worth a stroll. All these streets lead directly to the beach.

And 'lake-side' for our beautiful Baltic Sea beach?

One of the best beaches in Germany with many attractions: wide, clean golden sands; the original home of the Sand-Korbe (the basket seats which protect from the sun and wind); a mecca for kite-flyers; safe, shallow, water which is ideal for kids; a kids playground on the beach; beach volley-ball courts; a cafe right in the middle of the beach as well as two or three right on the edge (you can sip your drink with your toes in the sand); a long, wide promenade with lots of seats.

If you feel like a longer walk, beyond the promenade the path takes you along the low cliffs, through woods which come right down to the beach. Bicycles can be hired and there are miles of coastal paths on both sides of the river. There is also the 'Baderbahn', a small road train which does a tour of the town and the sea front.

On the other side of the river, via the small ferry, is the Höhe Dune resort, interesting to wander round. At the end of the breakwater is a seal research facility, open to the public. This side of the river offers a good opportunity for clear photos of the cruise ships. Beyond the resort are miles and miles of wide, sandy beaches but beware! This beach is 'FKK' ie. nudity is allowed. Unlike designated 'nude beaches' in other parts of the world, not everyone takes off their clothes although many do, so don't venture if you would be offended.

Someone on Tripadvisor called Warnemünde 'the surprising Jewel in your cruise itinerary' and those who take the time to explore usually agree. It is a nice change from the cities of a port-intensive cruise (especially if you are travelling with small children) and a great place on a summer evening after a long day sightseeing to relax with a drink within sight of your ship.

Try 'Warnemunde pictures' in your search engine!

    Enjoy!

    Happy cruising :)

  10. we are trying to sort out our stop in Kiel. We're not crazy about doing Hamburg. And another member in our party objected to Lubeck (don't get me started!) - HAL has a countryside tour but it looks like a lot of driving around .

Any suggestions for other options? Ideally - I would like to find a local tour company to organise something!

    TIA!

    Hi,

I am afraid that I do not know any local guide companies in Kiel but the Tourist Information Office does offer tours

    www.kiel-sailing-city.de/en/angebote/suchen-buchen.html

Last year friends of mine took the following day out from their ship. Even the ladies loved it!

A very nice ferry ride from Kiel towards the Baltic is La Boe, a small, charming seaside town with a nice beach. But the main interest here is the

Laboe Naval Memorial . Started in 1927 and completed in 1936 as a monument to the World l war dead of the Kaiserliche Marine.

After Germany's surrender in May 1945, the Marine-Ehrenmal was taken over by the British occupation forces. However, it was not destroyed because, as the British Military Administration stated, the memorial "does not glorify war and the spirit of aggression, but belongs to those whose intention is a personal tribute to the seamen who died for their country.”

In 1954 it was returned to the German Naval Association and rededicated to commemorate the sailors of all nationalities who died during the World Wars.

The monument consists of a 72-metre high tower with an observation deck 85 m above sea level. Underneath is the Hall of Rememberance. This is a very special place of pilgrimage to people of many nationalities (including myself) who lost family at sea during a war.

    www.deutscher-marinebund.de/geschichte_me.htm

Part of the complex is a naval museum and the grounds feature various artifacts including the World War II-era German Submarine U-955, the world's only remaining type VII U boat, which is open to the public.

    www.warmuseums.nl/gal/061gal.htm

Traditionally every ship passing the Memorial (and there are dozens every day going to and from the Canal) dips its flag in salute as this is the only memorial in the world to commemorate ALL sailors of ALL nations.

However it is by no means a grim place. The setting is beautiful and both the exterior and interior architecture is unusual and interesting. The view from the observation platform is stunning. The little town is very pleasant with a lovely beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. The short walk from the ferry terminal is along the seafront or you can take the 'Baderbahn', a small 'road train' which is certainly not just for the kids.

There is a regular ferry service between the 'Seegarten' pier next to the cruise terminal and La Boe. The ride takes an hour through the sheltered waters of the fijord. Timetables and fares at

  11. Hi Anni,

I wish I had read your posts before our trip last summer. You are so helpful!

We will be in Hamburg twice on a 8 day cruise on Cunard's QM2. Could you make some suggestions on places to visit within an hour to an hour and a half by train from Hamburg. We enjoy walking around charming villages rather than museums. I also read about a miniature world in Hamburg. Is that far too touristy or geared only for children? Is it walking distance to the cruise port?

Thank you very much for any help.

    Ricki

Hi, thank you for your appreciation.

Although I know Hamburg and the area to the east quite well I'm afraid that my knowledge of the rest of the surrounding area is a bit sketchy. There are plenty of things to see and do in Hamburg itself some of which are quite unusual. Search 'Hamburg attractions' for ideas.

Towns within one and a half hours by train worth visiting are Lübeck (medieval city) 45mins; Schwerin (city built on seven lakes with fairytale castle) 1 hour; Ludwigslust (Baroque town with beautiful schloss and park, important WWll conection with US military) 1 hour; Lüneburg (pretty town untouched by WWll with well preserved old buildings) 35 mins.

More information for the first three can be found on my web site.

The miniature world is in fact a model railway! However it has to be seen to be believed.

    www.miniatur-wunderland.com/

It is very touristy but definitely for all ages and within easy walking distance of the Cruise Terminal, through the historical canal-warehouse district.

  12. I know it's somewhere in the all of the information you have supplied but I couldn't come up with it. If we want to take the train from Warnemeunde to Schwerin - do we have to go through Rostock or is it a stright shot from the Warnemeunde HOB? Also, once in Schwerin, how does one take a canal ride leading up to the castle.

    Thanks

Hi, To get to Schwerin from Warnemünde you must change from the S-bahn (local suburban train) to a main line train in Rostock.

I think you must have mixed up Schwerin with another town as there are no canal boat rides there. There are boat tours around the lakes and they start from the jetty right next to the castle.

  13. Clarification:

Since ship arrives from Hel in morning and leaves in the evening, you have choice of staying in SPB for 10 hours (return by same ship, you keep your cabin), 34 hours or 58 hours (in last two cases, St Peter line arranges hotel for you at additional cost)

110 Euro cost included one Breakfast buffet which was not worth the money but saves precious time as one can do it before disembarkation.

Thanks for all this invaluable info. I just visited SPB by cruise ship and was disappointed for various reasons. We also missed Helsinki due to high winds in SPB but as Helsinki is easily reachable by ferry from here (NE Germany) I plan to visit next year and your info has decided me to try including a DIY day in SPB too.

BTW I hold an EU passport, is this any help?

    Thanks again.

  15. Thanks Anni! We will be there on a Sunday so will I not have to buy an additional ticket on the S-bahn? Can I get the Lander ticket in Warnemunde or will I have to wait until Rostock? Thanks again!!!

You will not need an additional ticket on a Sunday but you need to buy the Lander ticket before you get on the train in Warnemünde, at the ticket office or the machine on the platform. Or you can buy on-line before you leave home following the instructions on the last page of my web site.

  16. Hi Anni - a couple more questions for clarification. 1) Looking at the Mecklenberg Lander Day ticket it looks like it is 22 Euro per person. This would include trains between Rostock, Schwerin and Wismar? And we would just have to buy this one ticket and it is unlimited rides between those cities? 2) It appears to me this is a cheaper option than just going from Rostock to Schwerin round trip?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

The Mecklenburg Lander Day Ticket costs 22 euro for one person plus 4 euro for each additional person up to 5 persons travelling together. ie. 1=22 euro, 2=26 euro, etc.

It is valid for unlimited travel in Mecklenburg (plus Hamburg and Lübeck) between 9am and 3am the following day on all RE, RB and S-bahn services (RED trains) on weekdays, between 0 and 3am the following day on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.

Warnemünde, Rostock, Schwerin and Wismar are all within Mecklenburg.

You can also find this information on the Tickets ..... page of my web site and full details of how to get to Schwerin or Wismar on the appropriate pages..

If you plan to take the 9:07 from Rostock to Schwerin or 9:06 to Wismar on a weekday then you will need to purchase additional single tickets from Warnemünde to Rostock to cover the time before 9am.

  17. You mentioned you also have info for the above city. We start June 26 from the airport to the cruise port C330. I know a taxi will be available - is there an easier way to get to the cruise port and not so expensive as a taxi?

We are off the Eurodam and return July 7th where we would like to go from the ship and travel around on our own. Do we take a train to the main square? Do you have a site for a good walking map?

thanks again, you helped with all your info in Rostock!! Lynda

Hi Lynda, thanks for your appreciation re information on Rostock.

I have offered information re travelling between Copenhagen and Berlin but never on Copenhagen itself. I would not know where to start !

My region is NE Germany, the Copenhagen expert is Danish Viking on his thread 'Wonderful Copenhagen'.

  18. As of last July, the charter trains didn't have A/C. And when we were there, the temps were in the 80s.

I agree with all the above posts.

Trains on regular DB services are amongst the most modern in the world but up to now the trains chartered by the cruise ship companies have consisted of old rolling stock no longer used by DB. Unsuitable for travel at high speeds, no A/C, mostly compartment-type seating and usually showing their age!

Things may change this season but I doubt it as chartering modern rolling stock from DB is possible but very, very expensive.

The private tour companies nearly all use road coaches with A/C and, although there are toilets on board, make at least one reasonable comfort stop en-route to Berlin in a service area where you can get a little fresh air, stretch your legs and use the restrooms.

    Definitely the better option. :)

  19. Travelanni... I found your information to be very helpful planning our vist to Warnemunde this June. My question is how many fare zones via train from Warnemunde to Bad Doberan. Your web site says 4; I have seen 3 quoted elsewhere. Thanks.

You are quite correct. Something I missed when updating the web site. :oThank you for bringing it to my attention and for your appreciation of the rest of the site.

There are 3 fare Zones between Warnemünde and Bad Doberan, the cost of a day ticket is 7.20 euro.

I have now corrected this on the web site. My apologies for the mistake.

    Happy cruising :)

  20. This has been a most interesting subject and a lot has been learned about a very interesting and complicated issue.

However, many people must have looked at this thread to find 'Information on why Helsinki was skipped this week'

    IT WAS THE WEATHER

When we came to leave SPB at 23:00 on Tuesday the Captain and the Pilot agreed that navigating the long, narrow channel out of the port in the very high cross-wind was not safe. The wind did not abate until Wednesday morning and the next opportunity for us to leave was around 11:00 by which time it was too late for a call in Helsinki. It was still very windy, too windy to be out on deck, and remained so until late afternoon. We sailed straight to Stockholm, arriving there at the scheduled time.

This information came from conversations with a navigating officer (not one of the hospitality staff) and the chief security officer. The fact that someone was put off the ship in Tallin was never mentioned although leaving behind someone who missed the ship through their own fault was common knowledge.

  21. I am seeing fares for 49 Euros from Hamburg HBF to Berliner HBF but no 29 Euro fares. Am I making a mistake?

No, you are not making a mistake. The prices which I quoted were per person but there is now obviously a better offer for two people travelling together. The offers change all the time and I can only quote what I see at the time of the question. When searching for myself I check every day. Wish I could take advantage of these kinds of prices but I always travel solo!

Grab your tickets while you can, this offer may not last long.

    Happy cruising :)

  22. If you just want transportation, why not just take the train?

    Cheers

The problem is that the train schedules between Rostock and Berlin do not fit very well with ships arrival and departure times.

To catch the 8:34am from Rostock you must be off the ship by 7:30am. This train arrives in Berlin at 11:15am. The next one will not get you there until 12:32 and requires a change in Schwerin.

The very latest that most ships sail is 11pm, most sail earlier, but if this is the case the latest you can leave Berlin is 6:45 pm which will get you back to the ship around 10pm. The train after this is too late and the one before leaves Berlin at 4:45pm! Add in the time taken to get to and from the station, a bit of time waiting for the train etc., and it does not leave much time for sightseeing. Plus a lot of stress over missing the train, trains being late etc. I personally would not attempt it if I had a deadline to make.

  23. Hello,

Looking for advice - any preferences for Wismar or Schwerin? Is is possible to do both in a day (we have a long day in port there)?

I looked at the DeutcheBahn website but it shows no train going from Wismar to Schwerin or vice versa. However, I know this doesn't mean they aren't trains.

    I appreciate any help!

    Thanks!

    Hi,

There is an hourly train service from Schwerin to Wismar at 46 mins past the hour and a service from Wismar back to Rostock at 42 mins past the hour. It is very easy to do both in the one day using a Mecklenburg Lander Day Ticket. See my web site for details or use

  24. I ran into a family who were off-loaded in Tallinn (due to Russian Visa Issue) and were asked to re-board in Helsinki by RCL. However they got email message that RCL will skip Helsinki this week which was surprising since sea were calm. was a nice balmy sunny day without winds.

Trying to find out the details from RCL (4 phone calls, each with 15 min hold) and they are clueless. Trying to see if anyone has posted anything on any of the boards and google seach does find something but that link leads to dead end.

Any suggestion where one can find this info "Why was Helsinki port was skipped by RCL this week"?

(Port of Helsinki could not answer either)

Just got back from this cruise. Have answered your question with the reason we were given by one of the navigating officers (not hotel staff). http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1972516

It may have been balmy with calm seas in Helsinki but the wind, when we were due to leave SPB and the following morning, was very strong and the sea moderately rough. It became calm towards evening.

  25. Has anyone on this board has any info on why Helsinki was skipped this week by RCL in perfect weather?

3 hours and counting to find that info from RCL.

Just got back from the LOS cruise 1 hour ago.

The reason we were given for being held in SPB was high winds in the very narrow channel. It is extremely narrow, ships cannot pass in the channel so there is a certain time frame for ships in and another for ships out. There was a VERY strong cross-wind at the time we were due to sail and the Captain felt it was too dangerous. Whether he was right or not it was his call. It was still very windy when we did leave and remained so most of the way to Stockholm.

We had to leave one passenger behind in Tallin after waiting over 30 mins for him. He had taken the wrong bus. Tallin is the worst port to miss the ship as you cannot rejoin in SPB and, in the event, as we missed Helsinki he was unable to rejoin until Stockholm.
