  1. I want to fly out from PHL to San Diego in September 2021 for a cruise to Hawaii.

I know it’s a long ways away, but when should I start looking for flights, or when are best prices available?

Should I have Carnival book the flight for me?

  2. Thanks again. This being my first Bermuda visit, I cannot reserve something I’m not familiar with. Once on the island, I can see for myself and if safe, maybe tempted to rent one only to find out that they are none available. The wife does not ride nor will she ride 2-up on a scooter so that’s out of the question.

Maybe on my second visit I will reserve. For this trip, I will pay attention to parking, charging, and road attitudes Of the locals and visitors.

    Thanks again.

  3. I’m interested in maybe renting one of them electric cars.

Ive read the articles but none seem to mention anything about parking.

Where does one park these vehicles when going to the beaches, or Kings Wharf

or the caves or other attractions?

They are fairly new but I’m sure some vacationers have already tried these.

Any clues, tips or hints on parking? Is there a charge to park?

  4. Yes I do like that split apart option.

In my opinion, they SHOULD have the configuration selection available during check-in. Would be easier for the attendants as they wouldn’t  have to combine two together, if they were already apart at the end of the previous cruise, just to separate them again a few hours later.

  5. Thank You Twangster.

I do like the separate beds version best as it makes the room seem bigger.

There is no place for me to request separate beds for now. Maybe when check in becomes available? I will try calling to see if I can set it up that way.

Thanks again. Those pictures really answered my question.

  6. We are on the Empress this May with a Guaranteed OV cabin.

I think we got one on 3rd Deck. We got a Queen bed I believe.

It shows that the cabin may have bunk beds(most likely they do?)

    If there are bunk beds:

do those bunk beds stick out from the wall, making the path to your side of the bad narrower?

would it be best to have separate beds and have a wider middle path to the window and not worry about the bunks sticking out?

Can it be done? When do I request separate beds, before or after we board?

Wife and I are going to Bermuda for the very first time.

Our POCs are St George for 2.5 days starting Wednesday and Hamilton for 1.5 days.

We want to check out Hamilton’s Harbour Night event and need to get there from St George

and stay until almost the end but want to make sure we can get back to our ship in St George.

I understand it may take an hour each way by bus. There are no ferries between the two locations.

    So either taxi or Uber.

Not so much the rest of our stay as we can work around where and what to see, but the Harbor Night is something we want to see

They tell us that all shops and tour areas close early. (Maybe 6pm?)

Is that all over the island or just certain areas?

Harbour Night on Wednesday is available till what time?

Are taxis and buses less frequent as it gets later into the night?

Anyone have any suggestions on this?

I posted this somewhere on CriseCritic.
My review which may be good or bad.
I still had a good time and if you are with FUN people, then you WILL enjoy the cruise.

I stayed on Riviera Deck Midship. No balcony but spacious except for the shower.

There was a lack of storage space and Small tiny nightstands. We moved the life vests and placed them under the bed so we could use the closet space. It had a nice size tv, we just watched ship cameras or ship location channels. Only used one electrical outlet to plug in our multiport gadget to charge our electronics. The toilet made an unusual sound of a long foghorn after flushing and since I use the toilet 4 times during the night, I thought would wake everyone on my side of the ship. There were no complaints, thankfully. And of course our stewards were courteous and friendly. There was garbage odor on some elevators and smoke throughout the Casino.

Deck 3 and 4 were were a pain since at one point or another, a restaurant blocked the front to aft part of the deck. Our Time Dining we requested same waiter Camilo. He is GREAT. Sang songs and danced on some nights. Really great and funny individual. Request for a table he manages and you wont be disappointed. I selected foods I knew I liked so To me, the food was good.

Im not a sun worshipper so I wont comment on the pools and chairs. The jogging track is a bit small but I enjoyed the Rope Course. It was complicated at first due to my big gut, but once I got the know how, it was a piece of cake with a bit of sweat of course.

Guys Burgers are delicious, the pizza is so-so. Breakfast is same each day with no variety. Had to skip the Midnight Buffet with the Ice And food sculptures due to the mob trying to take pix and the LINE seeming endless. But Im sure it was delicious. ( I didnt gain any weight that night)

Bartenders and staff introduced me to some delicious drinks. There were a couple good shows with the singing and dancers but wasnt interested in hypnotism and card tricks. The good seating area in the Liquid Lounge is small. There are poles blocking the way, lighting fixtures if youre too high up, and cant see the stage at all if youre anywhere to the side of the stage.

Remodeled and all, from 1 to 5, I rate the ship a 3.

Fun Factor I rate the ship a 3 as well.

    Friendliness I rate it a 5

There were not enough sanitizers and people were hardly using the ones available.

    I rate cleanliness a 4.

  9. I know its old thread and the ships long gone.

Wife and I cruised honeymooned on the Carnivale in August 1982

Cant remember a lot of what we did while on it tho but the Bar drink glasses with the Carnival logo were actual glass and not plastic like these days.

Port of calls were San Juan, St Thomas, and Samana in the Dominican Republic.

that beach and coastline in Samana were the best ive been to. Felt like carpeting underwater.

  10. You can bring on a case of water if you want. But, you can pre-order the bottled water package and it will be in your cabin when you board. Convenience, yes. The pre-order cost is 12 x 500ml bottles for US$6.90 or around 58 cents/bottle. This is a decent price for convenience. The package is not available for purchase on board.

Im flying in and better off pre-ordering.

  11. No - bottled water is not included - you must pre-order (12 per case) at least three days before your sailing date.

Thanks. I already ordered two cases for my middle of night thirst.

If we need to bring water bottles with us on excursions, I best order at least one more case.

  12. These are the current terms and conditions of Soda & More:

Indulge yourself with this premium Unlimited Soda & More Package, entitling you to unlimited fountain soft drinks, plus mocktails, juices, and complimentary hot chocolate throughout your cruise. Price includes service charge. Package must be purchased for full length of voyage, cannot be shared, is non-transferable, and is non-refundable within 3 days of sailing.

Milk shakes, Frappes (on ships with Coffee & Cones) and Gong Cha items (on Majestic Princess) are included on the PBP but not the Soda & More. Princess does not have "smoothies" in the form we know them of, but some ships have yogurt/fruit juice/liquid sugar concoctions at breakfast in the buffet that are labelled as such.

There have been more than a few reports of obtaining mocktails and mixers on Princess Cays. But not sodas as there are no gun dispensers there.

Is bottled water included with the soda package?

  13. Im glad someone revived this thread. Thank You.

I’ve had shares for a few months nowand I’m cruising in September of 2019. Plenty of time remaining.

    If I can ask,

Do they send me the documents automatically or do I need to request them?

Are they sent annually, quarterly or how else?

Since Carnival wants recent documents in order to get OBC, how do I get the most recent ones acceptable?

  14. Not a troll...what a ridiculous comment!!! Been posting on here for MANY years on various cruise lines' boards, which can easily be checked out. Why would I go to the trouble and time to write numerous paragraphs just to troll Carnival? Have much better things to do with my time. Give me a royal break!! Just trying to warn others...

Yes, I finally found out it was ES. But the rep did not tell me about all the restrictions of ES! Not a frequent Carnival cruiser and did not know ES from any other type of booking. When rep heard me say I wanted cancel for any reason insurance, why did he not tell me right then and there that this type of booking ALREADY came with a cancellation penalty that even insurance would not refund? Now I'm out my deposit AND the insurance premiums for two people! And yes, the Carnival insurance was more expensive than the same type of insurance I've bought through other cruise agencies in the past. That's why I never dreamed it was not cancel for any reason.

Believe me--I've learned my lesson! Will get my own insurance in the future!!

Sorry the cancellation is not working in your favor. I would at least argue that if the insurance does not apply to your type of booking, the purchase should have been rejected automatically. Therefore you are entitled to the insurance premium refund.. That would be my argument if it happened to me.

  15. Carnival only sells one kind of insurance and that policy includes Cancel For Any Reason.

I don't think so unless it's changed in the last few years.

The Cancel for any Reason policy has certain limitations. Must be purchased immediately with the down payment.

Otherwise you can purchase the regular trip insurance as long as it's before final payment, but the sooner the better.

I prefer a 3rd party insurer that is much cheaper and has better coverage.

  16. Due to death in family on 4/14/16 we are unable to cruise. Our booking for Fantasy, 3 days, departure today. Who should I write to request a credit for future sailing? I am thinking of someone up in ranks at Carnival. Thamks

    My condolences.

If you have a 3rd party trip insurance then you should call them.

If you have insurance thru Carnival, call Carnival or your travel agent.

Without insurance, it may be harder to get any refund or credit, but like some say, it never hurts to ask. The worst case scenario is the response being "no credit, sorry" but you never know unless you try.
