  1. David, if you are doing 2016 cruises please put us down for Hawaii, Tahiti and South Pacific - Sea Princess 8 April 2016.

    Hi David,

I am also doing the Hawaii, Tahiti and South Pacific on Sea Princes but I am boarding on 10th April 2016. Please add me to the list.

Sandielle, Glad I am not the only one who books way in advance.

  2. I have been in a similar situation as Bazz. I have spent a lot of $$$$ at one TA and get nothing back from them. I have just switched to another TA (recommended by a friend) and got an extra $300 OBC for one of my cruises I have just booked and they said it was a gift for using them. They usually get back within the day, sometimes late at night via email answering any questions I have. If they hold up to expectations I will use them again.

It is hard to find a good TA that lives up to expectations.

  4. I have just booked a cruise for 2016 (I know it is a long way off) and I really really wanted to do Patricks 3/4 day lagoon tour with lunch as I have done it before and just loved it but I have noticed that my ship arrives at 7:00am but leaves at 2:00pm. This seems a waste of a day for me but does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? I was thinking if the 3/4 day lagoon tour is out of the question I could go to Bloody Marys for a bit but am then at a lost. Any ideas would be great!

  5. Not that I'm allowed to mention the name but I got an email from one of the biggest aus online agents today about the Golden cruises and they are quoting prices so I assume either they are speculating or the prices are released to the agencies before they appear on the website.

For your cruise they are quoting (and these are the entry level prices)

    Mini-suite $10342

    Balcony $6742

    Oceanview $5379

    Interior $3862

    cheers

Thanks for that information. I did ring Princess and they were able to give me price. I am travelling solo so have to pay the supplement and I only do balconies and they gave a quote of $14067 in the middle of the ship.

I am also looking at the Sydney to Hawaii return at the same time and by the time I add on the airfares for both (business) it works out about the same price. The Sydney to Hawaii one is 5 more days but an older ship. I really wanted to try golden thought so am in two minds on which one to book.

  6. That's the same day I remember being told 21st May. Princess said that no bookings are officially recognised until that day and that the passengers or their travel agents in question book them on that day. No one gets first dig.

As a passenger you probably have better chance getting up early and working the phone and getting though before the travel agents offices open.

I see that these cruises have now been released on the princess website. Does anyone know when the prices will be available? I am looking at the relocation Melbourne to Los Angeles in April 2016.

  7. Hello to all CC members I had the pleasure to meet at the meet & greets that I organised for the world cruise. I had great fun meeting with you all.

We are now housed up in the Premier Inn in Southampton arranging all our travel plans, and packing things away as we had 19 pieces of baggage. We fly home next week and back to basics.

Thanks again for making our journey a happy one, and love to all the lovely people I met.

    Take care Maggiemou.

    Hi Maggiemou,

A big thankyou for organising the meet and greets and it was great to meet you and Mr MM. I had a great time on the leg I did and met the most lovely people. I was only looking through my photos again the other day and was remember what a great time we had at the luau. Safe travels back home and you never know...we may meet again soon on another cruise.

    Hi Kathi,

What a great photo. Enjoy your last few days as much as you can and don't worry about the packing. I am sure it will all fit in the suitcases!

Say hello to everyone for me. I wish I was still on board with you all and it was great meeting you all.

  10. We have just spent two amazing days in Haifa. I had never been to Israel before so I took two tours - one to Jerusalem and the other to Galilee and Nazareth. Many people had long but interesting days touring.

We are now on our way to Naples.

    Hi Kathi,

Can you please let Lynn know that I have sent her some emails with the photos from Sydney for her and Mans.

    thanks heaps

  11. Hey Chez, how are you? Seems so long ago when we were on board!!! Have you seen that next year I have booked the QE from Sydney to Southampton. How about you doing it?

    Regards

    Pat

    Hi Pat,

Yes it has been a while. Time goes by so quickly. Yes I did notice that you had booked the Sydney to Southampton for next year. I wish I could but I have already book my holidays for next year and I am taking my 89 year old father on a cruise to New Zealand and back and then 4 weeks after that I am going to Fiji for a week to rest up. I think I will need it! Maybe if I win Lotto I will join you. I just love the QE and my time on her and would love to go again!

  12. We are safe from the pirates so the decks are now open and lighted at night and you can leave your curtains open.

We visited Aqaba yesterday and about 1000 passengers visited Petra. I went to Wadi Rum and enjoyed the experience.

Seven of us from the dinner table ate at the Verandah Restaurant tonight. It was really good. The service was fantastic and the presentation of the food was impressive.

Tomorrow we transit the Suez Canal.

    Hi Kathi,

I am so glad you enjoyed the Verandah Restaurant. I still have great memories of when I had dinner there one night. Just loved the food there. Glad you are out of the Pirate area now and can leave your curtians open and wonder around the decks at night. Not long now and it will be all over. The time has gone by so quickly, you and the other world travellers must be dreading getting off.

I hope you have an enjoyable rest of the cruise and say hello to everyone on the table for me. I wish I was still there!:(

  13. So that was what that was! I was trying to figure it out.

I never realized that Oman had such jagged mountains. It was a real surprise when those mountains appeared through the haze.

    Hi Kathi,

Oman is such a lovely place. Shame you could not spend some time there. Glad all is going well and you are having a great time. I have really enjoyed reading your blog so keep up the great work. While in Mumbi did you get to go to the Davari Slums or at least see it? it is really interesting.

Say hello to our table mates for me as I wish I was still there with everyone.

Keep on enjoying yourself and I look forward to reading more on your blog.

  14. Chez you are wonderful!!! Thank you so much. Have you been in one of the aft cabins yourself?

Yes, we were in suit 7119 and it was great. We had no problems with the aircon and there was no noise either. I always spend the afternoons on the balcony and it was not too hot for me but then again I do like it hot. Had some nice sailaways sitting on the balcony with friends. I travelled with my father and I gave him the bed and I slept on the fold out lounge and it was comfortable and I had no problems with it. I would highly recommend this suite.

  15. I spend hours and hours on our ship balcony. Reading and napping. For it to be too windy or closed to us would be devastating.

I too spend a lot of time on the balcony reading and napping and I was so greatfull that I was able to change suites to one aft of the ship. If I was you I would seriously think on changing as you like to spend lots of time on the balcony.

The layout is the same at the aft and there was so much room it was great.

  16. We're holding 7005, a Penthouse Suite, on the bow. Very spacious wraparound balcony but it looks a bit closed in. Am wondering if the view is obstructed by the walls of the ship. Has anyone been in one of these suites and can tell me more.

I originally had this suite booked a 2 years back when I sailed on her and ended up changing to 7119. The reason I changed is that you can not always go out on the balcony as some times it is too windy and they close it. The balconies are a metal wraparound so there is a bit of an obstructed view. I hope this helps a bit.

  17. One of the ladies at my dinner table ate with the captain last week. He said that the QE was getting single staterooms at the next drydock. When I asked Janice (the social hostess) about this, she said she thought that single rooms were going to be added for the entertainers. She said she did not know anything about passenger single staterooms. Also, something was going to be done to the casino in relation to these staterooms (maybe moving the casino to make room for them).

We are having an internet "Happy Hour" - 2 minutes for the price of 1 between 5 and 6 pm.

I just wish they would do single rooms with balconys. I just love my balcony when cruising.

Glad you are still having a great time Kathi. Still wish I was onboard still.

  18. Hi Cheryl and Pat. Hope you are both Ok and not got the withdrawal symptons too bad.

Ship is quieter now as Japanese on board and are all quiet, and well dressed in an evening. They are all good dancers also.

We got a new crowd on and the last meet & greet I did around 25 turned up. I am carrying on with the meet and greets, so anyone new arriving in the forthcoming segments add your names to the roll call.

Rabaul tomorrow and it is an interesting place , very dusty and very poor but interesting all the same as this is what world cruises are all about. Showing us how the people around the world live.

I have been to Rabaul before so I will be going walk abouts and handing $ bills to the children who will be flocking around us with their lovely smiles. I will buy a bag off the ladies who make them. The a bags are very colourful and fun.

Regards to all who know me. Maggie. x
