I'm holding on to my Nov 4th booking but I expect it to be cancelled. Probably by the end of July.
if ours has to be cancelled, it better be before final payment is due !

Just got back from our local ( Publix )
95% of shoppers wearing masks, including me
of course, one of the "5%" not wearing a mask was walking the "wrong way" down the isle...
meh
kinda, sorta getting used to wearing a mask, but only for 30 or so minutes at a time ...
may get one of the 'neck gaitor' type face coverings ... tried on one of my son's and it's actually
a lot more comfortable ..

They came and removed the alcoholic items and soda from the fridge. We traded them in for one coffee “card” ( no cards anymore - just number of coffees credited to your account) and water.
so, how many 'waters' did you get to keep along with the 'one' coffee package ?

Because if everyone did that and the TA doesn’t get refunds then the TA will just file for bankruptcy then we will be there forever waiting.
is this the first time you had used this TA ? - were you aware of the arrangement between the TA and Princess regarding payments ?

The problem is we booked with a TA who instead of paying Princess with our card took payment then paid Princess. So TA doesn’t have money as not been refunded.
why should you care ?? - I'd file a dispute with the credit card company IMMEDIATELY !!! - let the TA have their account charged back

Wowsers - good luck on the tests - I know it could be a long two weeks but hope you get results on the “sooner” side.
thanks - my wife has way more exposure than I do, but then again I have the exposure from her
No symptoms whatsoever - taking temps twice a day for 3 months now - just seemed like the thing to do, especially since we
are going on a beach house vacation meeting the kids for the week of the 4th ... private vrbo where my son knows the owner... so we got that going for us, I guess ...

How do you go down the aisle the wrong way in a supermarket?
at our local (Publix) isles (sp on purpose) and marked with arrows and to which way to go - up one, down the next - to encourage social distancing and not cross paths with shoppers coming the other direction down the isle

We seem to still be best in the world at spreading Covid-19.
as well as testing and reporting ... but maybe that is , well , for another topic agenda

Looking for any information on the cost and service provided for laundry being done on board ship. Trying to get an idea of costs for my travel budgeting. Thanks in advance.
Dave
washers and dryers - self-service - available on most ships / decks $3 per wash, $3 per dry - free irons and ironing boards provided in the laundry rooms
check your ship deck plans for locations

So far the USA has had about 25% of the world's Covid-19 cases with far less a percentage of the world's population.
more testing and honest reporting ??

While camping in an RV is certainly safer than many other forms of travel, it is still higher risk than staying home. Even with an RV there will still be stops for gas, food, rest stops, etc. Unlike being at home, each stop is with a different group of people in different areas. So it is not "absolutely safe", nor is it as safe as staying at home, but it is relatively low risk as long as one follows good distancing practices (including masks) anytime they are near others. Just last week was in a campground where the campers were intermingling and acting like it was pre-COVID. Driving back home from Tucson (was picking up a new class B) saw folks getting out of their RVs at rest stops and used the facilities without masks. Talked to one couple when they came over to ask about my class B. Their view was they were not staying in hotels and were staying in their RV so they were "safe".
deleted ... not worth it

we have been very fortunate in being able to refare to a lower price even after final payment - once even 5 days before sailing.
We book direct with Princess if that matters, and of course we are lowly short, caribbean cruisers - obliviously not your normal CC 'so-fist-a-kated' cruisers that snub their noses at those kind of cruises, and only sail on 30+ day cruises in full suites after flying first class, of course ...
but, yeah ... if you can drive to the port, cabin selection is not a huge problem for you, and you have no 'FOMO'
do it

I don't think any ships will sail this year. Sorry to be the pessimistic one here.
I dunno, but IF there are any ... it will be the short 4-7 day cruises from PE and LA , which I'm not sure
that would even be worth it 🤑 monetarily to Princess, but of course there has to be a first sometime ... which may be
Spring 2021, if then 🦄
but as always ... 🥃

Sorry for confustion about my statement of cruise industry cancellations. I was speaking about Princess; I received an email from them telling me my Oct 27th cruise had cancelled. Then they gave me a link to their website; which showed all the cruises cancelled; most were for Sep/Oct. Have a great day.
but again not ALL sept & oct cruises from PRINCESS have been cancelled

You got that right. 😎
but, ya gotsta admit ... sailing as an elitest doesn't hold a candle to a blue card sailing in a suite ...

all that, and not even the first day of cruising yet ???
sorry - I'm ready to look to the / a future ... but congrats on a great cruise you had, I guess ??

Carnival Cruise Line just announced halting cruises thru September 30

Oh ok. You said “the cruise industry” but in reality you were just referring to a Princess cruise. Thanks for clarifying.
and Princess still has cruises scheduled to go out of LA in Sept and October, so the blanket statement made was
misleading, although it "may" become true

Perfect - THANK YOU!!!!!
Princess moved us from a BB balcony to a mini-suite (D707)
I know that on the Grand class ships most of the mini balconies are uncovered and we REALLY don't like that.
I also know that the Island and Coral have different configurations.
D707 is covered.
nice to see the 'upgrade fairy' is still sprinkling some of her magic dust around 🦄
is this for a cruise that might actually sail ??
