Let me begin by saying that this is my impression and your view will differ. I've read alot of impressions re: Plus, Premier, and Suite experiences. But this is just one view from that ever shrinking population: the standard fare no-frills, come for the ports / stay for the ship unplugged elite cruiser. 😊

I'll post regarding my experiences when I'm in these ports:

    9/21-9/23 Southampton

    9/24 Portland

    9/26 Vigo

9/29 Madeira (ship missed last time)

    9/30 Santa Cruz De Tenerife

    10/9 Disembark Fort Lauderdale

So it's time for me to pack myself and Koda (who's currently sitting in my suitcase so he won't be forgotten) as I head out tomorrow

just an option to help identify this thread as I will read every post as the SUN P comes to pick us up after your cruise

maybe edit the title to include the dates? to show it is the TA?

Well first AON wanted an itemized bill from the ship. After 6 months I received the bill after contacting everyonr from the CEO down. then they wanted my medicare to pay. also the 500 that I paid the hospital after my insurance paid the 42000 bill from the stay in the US wasnt paid still dighting almost a year later.

yes, we paid $28 for an itemized medical bill before we left the ship.  We paid the medical bill that was charged to our folio, but neglected to get a final copy of the folio where we paid in full. The email copy never arrived, but could have gone to my wife's junk mail since we had booked the cruise under her name and used a very generous Princess discount for medical providers.

Our medicare advantage reimbursed us for all medical expenses on board, except the $28 record fee once we got a copy of the paid in full folio.  AON paid the deductibles and copays for follow-up visits once we got off the ship and back home.

Our total out of pocket costs was the $28 plus the cost of the AON insurance of course

First things first. When you play the slots there is an option to charge play to your on board account. Your on board account may have non-refundable OBC and refundable OBC. From my experience the on board accounting system uses non refundable OBC first. Once that is used up it uses refundable OBC. If you have both refundable and non refundable in your account you can't designate which to use.

Second. When charging to your on board account you must play some. When you do play you can cash out at any time.

    will the time come ...

    non-refundable OBC - $100

casino slot - load $100 charged to folio

win $10 - so balance shows $110 in casino bank - go to cash out - here's your $10 and $100 non-refundable OBC has been returned to your folio

loss $10 - so balance of $90 remains in casino bank or is returned to folio as non-refundable OBC

we have put a man on the moon - civilians doing a spacewalk - but we still use a 10 yard chain to mark first downs in football, and Princess can't figure out how to do this??

We were on Sun Princess last month for two weeks.

I pre booked traditional dining for each night at 7.30 pm on deck 6. It worked perfectly except for one night when we arrived at 8 pm due to attending the Captain's welcome party for Elite & Platinum guests. Our pre assigned table had been given away. This was really annoying!

When we ate a specialty restaurants we informed our waiters the night before.

Those on "Any time" dining would often filter down from deck 7 during the evening when tables became available.

We were a table for 2 so really missed being on a table of 6 or 8 dining with other guests.

30 minutes late and you were annoyed?  interesting

Do you know how large this group is? I had a cruise ruined once by a large group. They took over so many areas of the ship.

if you google bear cruises, the group will come up - click on gallery for previous cruise pictures.

their cruise cabin portion was waitlisted in most cabin categories currently

it can be a large group - but it's also a large ship
