You don't have to book while on the cruise but if you make a deposit of $100 per per you will get $ 100 obc each and you have two years to make a reservation

has nothing to do with the OP's situation... and the amount of OBC is determined by cabin type and length of cruise ... not a flat amount of $ 100

Best and most obvious answer yet.  I have never understood why people post on C C before calling the organization that is providing the services.

    DON

because they want answers from cruisers who have actually experienced what they are asking about !!

not some  order taker who happens to answer the Princess 1-800 number, puts you on hold and tries to look up an answer in the website that may or may not be updated

5 calls, 5 potential different answers

    sorry, Princess

Do you really think that Carnival Corp. spent a billion dollars on a system that didn't lock the doors? I can be as cynical as the next guy. But even I can't imagine that they didn't figure this out. Remember folks that Carnival hired away a bunch of the Disney techies who designed, created and implemented the Magic Bands to design, create and implement the Medallion system and Disney World has over 30,000 hotel rooms with doors that function just fine.

so, Disney uses the Magic Bands on their cruise ships in the same fashion as their land based theme parks

Did not know that ... Thanks !!

But otherwise the website is okay! 😃

Of all the functions on Cruise Critic, I find the stand-alone reviews to be of the least value.  I find the banter and discussion on the boards to be great and the ability to set up Meet&Greets to be second.

Here are some truths about cruising and reviews:

    1) Everything is subjective, shaded by perspective and experience and shaped by attitude

    2) People cruise for very different reasons (some go for the ship, some go for the food, some go for the ports, some go for the booze, some go for family, some go for their own different reasons)

    3) The anonymity of the internet encourages hyperbole and exageration

    4) Being an experienced cruiser does not make you an expert on ships, ports or maritime operations

    5) The guests on a cruise are widely diverse in age, home, gender, travel experience, education, income, health and upbringing'

    6) Nothing onboard is more subjective than food

That means that you and I could be in cabins next door to each other on the same cruise, with the same steward, same waiter, go to the same activities and visit the same ports on the same excursions and one of us have a fabulous time and the other hate it.  You read a review and the one that pops up is the one who hated it and the one who loved it doesn't write a review so you never know the whole story.

Cruising is a great adventure, meant to be enjoyed by you, the way you want to enjoy it.  If you decide to go and have a great time, you will.  If you go to be miserable (and apparently there are those who do), you will.

also your number of posts on cruise critic also doesn't make your opinion any better than any one else's

This wasn't directed at me but I was just there 8 weeks ago and found it to be an excellent spot to spend the day before the cruise.  Good call having a tower water view, it is great to overlook the port and to me it was worth the extra couple of bucks.  I was so excited for our cruise I actually woke up at 5:45am and was able to watch the CB pull into port about 6:15am from the balcony.  Very cool.  My wife and I had no issues with cleanliness, everything was perfectly fine in our room.

I'm booked again in December to stay the night before our 4 night cruise, which feels a bit of a waste since we won't be arriving until 7pm and therefore won't be able to take advantage of all the amenities on site (of which there are plenty), but it still feels worth it just for the views and proximity.  There's just no doubt when you're there that you're about to hop on a ship.  The breakfast buffet, although pricey, is fantastic as well.

If by some miracle 5 months from now I remember, I will check back in with a second review regarding cleanliness.  They're 1 for 1 with me though; totally fine 8 weeks ago.

2nd that - we were there on May 12th & 13th - also in a 9th floor tower , water view of cruise ships, drawbridge , and water taxi stop ... which we really enjoyed

got a reservation for hopefully somewhere around the same room (type) in December for one night ... but we will be there around 10:30 am for a somewhat full day, even if we can't check in immediately upon arrival

What does your loyalty level on the Medallion get you or what does it prove?

Same as cruise card.  Loyalty level is the same as loyalty level has ever been.

Exact same perks as with the cruise card.

If you take larger bills ($20) never take them out if your bargaining for an item.

They'll never come down in price if they see you have enough money.:classic_wink:

additionally ... as per my wife ... they 'never have change' for that $ 20 and encourage you to buy something else

to come up to that amount ... at least until you start to walk away .... and wait ... HEY, Jezabula, next booth over, you happened to get some small bills ...????

I take reviews with a grain of salt.

One person on a cruise has those concerning comments and another on the same cruise will have the best time of their cruise history and the ship is in pristine condition.  🙄

Have sailed the Coral many times. I don't think you will be disappointed.

She is one of my favorites.

    gets out salt shaker ...:classic_wink:

  10. we bring enough 5's and 1's ( mostly 1's ) to provide about $ 10-20 per day for on board bribes and tips ... we do tend to over tip bar staff and stewart ( depending ) ...

then go from there for excursion tips, misc straw market "stuff" ...

Try an email to the customer relations address. As I mentioned, I never got a response but it was shortly after sending that the package suddenly appeared back in my personalizer. Might just have been coincidence, but worth a shot?

guess I'll have to ... my PVP 'fired' me for questioning her availability on weekends !.:classic_ohmy:..:classic_laugh:

Our website doesn’t always have the most update information, but I have confirmed these terms and conditions based on your inquiry.

Also, the terms and conditions for Australia based cruises has changed to be available to pre purchase the PBP.

There’s no direct number for the inventory department so they can flag your booking or member account, because this is an internal department that will reach out to our guests as need be for voyages.

Since you are not incline to await my response or my service during my available work hours, then you are welcome to contact 800-princess at any time for immediate assistance.

I will withdraw my complimentary services as your cruise planner as I have other guest that are awaiting a response from me directly. Thank you for your business and we appreciate your loyalty to Princess Cruises.

  12. 81 during the day ... down to 79 before bedtime ... turn down to 78 first thing when up ... then gradually back up to 81 if staying in house all day, or reset to 81 if going out ...

get hot ? - just walk outside for a couple of minutes ... then come back inside to the 'cool' 81 degrees

I'm on a 3 day in September on Royal. Prior to the new drink packages, the package was available and I had it in my cart (not paid for). After the new drink packages, I went into the cart to pay for it and it said not available. It then disappeared from the personalizer. I emailed customer relations (never heard back directly) about it, and sent them the wording from the policy. Last week I went into personalizer and the package is there! I also have it showing on a 3 day cruise I have booked for August 2020....

email just now from my newly assigned PVP ... and it is NOT showing in our personalizer for a 3 day

    in December 2019

The Premier Beverage Package is only available to purchase pre cruise on voyages that are four days or longer.

The package is NOT available for voyages under seven nights for Australian-based itineraries, or voyages two nights or under for all other itineraries.

Hmmm ... "pre cruise" - well, if we don't know prior to boarding, we will be bringing our own "PBP" ...

I'm entrusting large sums of money to convey me safely through a hostile environment.

I know they make a 'killer bellini", but it's not that bad of an environment on the ship, and I wouldn't consider it a large sum of money to purchase one ...
