Totally agree - I don't care very much about the itinerary when I sail on these ships.

I got really lucky on our Allure cruise that sails this Saturday. It was a cruise originally booked in November, 2019 on Oasis and has been canceled/rescheduled 3X. When I decided on this date the offer on a guarantee OV balcony was just too good to pass up and when we got our cabin assignment, I was thrilled - deck 6, the first cabin on the aft hump. I told my husband I probably couldn't have picked a better location if had paid for assigned cabin.

Sorry you were disappointed. Whenever I book a guarantee, I locate the worst cabin I could possibly be assigned and that isn't a problem, then I go with it, but they aren't for everyone.

No biggie IMO. For the right price I would take that in a heartbeat.

Food confiscated. Many times I've taken things aback like candy, chocolate, pastries, and never given it any thought.

That's so bizarre. Is this something new?

I can't count the times I've brought food back on a ship - especially in Europe where we've stopped at a bakery to get some things to enjoy in our cabin.

I'm not sure exactly why it matters how often or how much is spent on cruising. The fact is as Diamond, my husband and I get 8 free drinks per day + some other perks. They are not charging an extra surcharge or membership fee to get the perks so they aren't costing me anything. But, it seems you want to troll, so enough said about the subject.

I only tip on the food and beverage part.

LOL - We took a couple of very messy grandkids on a cruise and like you they were in a separate cabin. We told the cabin steward to only change out their towels and if they had stuff on the bed to not worry about making it. We tipped extra just because the poor steward had to enter their cabin and we never took those two on another vacation. I was so glad when we got home and their parents picked them up.

LOL - I know - that is the smart thing to do.

I was on the ship 4 years ago and will be again next week. I don't recall if the electric outlets are recessed or flat against the surface. If they are recessed, I need to take along a small plug-in extender so larger plugs will fit. Does anyone know which they are?

I didn't know that - so thanks! Haven't cruised since Feb, 2020, so everything seems to new to us.

Coffee with Baileys sounds good, but I rarely drink in the morning or afternoon, so maybe a cocktail before dinner and a glass of wine - I'm still probably at 3 drinks per day with a drink at the evening show and like I said, my husband will probably only drink 2. I'm sure there will be a few days when we might use all of the vouchers for alcohol, but when we don't we can stockpile some Diet Cokes for the afternoon.

Understood, but 4 drinks a day is plenty for me.

I only watched it because it was between Survivor and The Amazing Race. Silly show.

Between my husband and myself we have 8 vouchers to use each day. He has to be careful with alcohol because of meds so he will probably have 2 drinks and use the others for cans of soft drinks that we will take back to our cabin. I love the new program and being able to use the vouchers any time of the day - not just in the evening.

We are sailing on the 15th - just to clarify - you were allowed to stay in your cabin and weren't moved to another one? My husband is disabled and dependent on me for assistance, so if only one of us would test positive we would have to stay together and I would like to think we could stay in our OV balcony.

I'm on the 10/15 sailing - our first cruise since 2/20 when we just missed the Covid craziness.

We saw it 4 years ago on Allure and will definitely go again when we sail on 10/15. It's high energy fun.

I guess I just want to be prepared in case someone does ask. I don't take anything for granted anymore. LOL

My husband and I are both getting our 3rd booster on Tuesday - sailing on 10/15. We plan to take our physical card with us but as a backup is a picture of the cards saved on my phone acceptable?
