There is no way to edit a post older than a few minutes.

Many people put their cruise history and/or future booked cruises in their signatures. See mine below! This is accomplished via your profile in the top right corner of most CC screens ON THE COMPUTER. I am on my phone and do not know if it's possible from here!

If you can't find it by just looking, I or someone else will come back with the step-by-step.

Thanks so much for you info.  Very helpful and was successful for me.  Very much appreciated.

Thanks for your replies.  We reached the Platinum status 6 months ago.  Neither the Boarding Pass or luggage tags show Priority, although the online website VIFP section shows we are Platinum.  I rang the Customer Service number and the girl I spoke to said that no-one's documents show their Priority status.  She said it will be recognised by the manifest when I get to the port.  No idea what she means, as this contradicts everything I have read.

I guess I just have to hope for the best.  I will print our our Platinum status from the carnival website and take that with us along with our useless boarding pass incase that helps.

I know it isn't a huge deal but it would be nice to experience this Priority boarding if possible.  Not sure this will help with our luggage though as they take that off us way before we get to talk to anybody about our priority boarding.

    Very confusing!

I believe that all of the info is in the barcode at the top of the boarding pass.  Your Platinum "Sign and Sail" cards will be in your mailbox outside of your cabin when you get there.  Any official will see your status as they scan your Boarding Pass until you get your cards.  Should not be a problem but, if so, go to Guest Services and they will straighten it out.  If you have your 75+ days in the system, they will have that info.

  3. I have downloaded the Carnival Hub as required to be done prior to boarding the ship.  Do I have to download anything else after boarding?  How do I get all of the information regarding happenings, dining, shows, excursions, etc.?

Hi all! I'm thinking of taking a solo cruise around the end of next month. Has anyone done this before w/ Carnival? If so, were they willing at all to waive the single supplement charge? Thanks in advance!

Don't hold your breath.  I even wrote to Carnival to tell them that there is a market for single/solo travelers and suggested that they build a fewer smaller cabins in their new ships to accommodate them but never got an answer.  There is a market out there and one of the cruise lines will latch on to it.  NCL has studio/solo cabins and I have been in them but the final costs come out to the same as an inside cabin.

There typically are earlier check in times, it just depends on how fast you completed your paperwork as well and chose the arrival time.  I haven't been turned away, as most times we have had to arrive based on when the hotel had a shuttle etc.

Our upcoming cruise I am platinum, our shuttle picking us up is at 9:30 going from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami.  Our arrival time is listed as 1 PM.  I know we will be early, but I don't think that would be an issue.  While I like to arrive early, I do also find it nice to arrive after others have already checked in and some of the crowds are just already gone.

  6. We are going on a cruise with another couple and they just booked last week and I was finally able to get them the FTTF, we already had it.

Only problem is we have 11:30 check in time and they have 12 check in time.

Do these times apply to the people with FTTF or can we get there earlier?

With FTTF, you can arrive at any time that you want. That's one of the perks.

  7. The eggs are liquid. We learned this in the Behind the Scenes tour. I agree, the real eggs at the omelette station are much better. I always ask for 3 eggs scrambled soft, light on the grease.

So glad to hear that. I haven't gotten scrambled eggs on cruises after the first cruise as they were too wet and I didn't like them. Thank you giving that info. Going on another cruise in 27 days and will definitely try that station.

  8. After you complete your on line check in, can you go back and change anything? We need to renew our passports, but we want to go ahead and check in mainly to get our desired check in time. If we say we will be using our birth certificates, will be be able to change this?

You won't be able to select your Check-in time until 90 days prior to sailing.

  9. Check out this article from USA TODAY:

Giant new Carnival cruise ship begins sailing from Miami

    https://usat.ly/2MQUADP

Interesting read...funny how they said Carnival no longer has a ship in the top 30 for size. After being on the Allure of the Seas last year...a big no thank you to those mega ships.

I hope carnival keeps the size in check. Biggest one I like is the Breeze and I actually love the mid sized ships even better.

I agree. I am not interested in those mega ships. They lose the intimacy. Looks beautiful, but I love the smaller to mid size ships. Hope Carnival doesn't get carried away like RCCL did. Bigger is not always better.

  10. Lately the luggage tags don't say FTTF but they should show PRIORITY. If they don't I would call Carnival!

Printed out my luggage tags in July when I could and they have the FTTF logo on them. It is also plainly visible at the top of my Boarding Pass as well.

  11. One of the best cruises we ever had was back on Miracle when she was brand new and sailing out of Baltimore (yes Baltimore) but we have been hesitant to go back to Carnival following all the reports and videos of bad behavior on the ships.

I’d be grateful for an honest assessment from recent cruisers - does Carnival deserve its new reputation ?

9 or 10 Carnival cruises and I have never seen any bad behavior of any sort. Of course, there are cases where there are problems and they are the ones that are always publicized. Wouldn't hesitate to go on a Carnival cruise at any time. In fact, 40 days to go for my next one.

  12. Is entertainment something that is not discussed on the Carnival board? It is a constant topic on all other lines boards......are there no shows on Carnival?

I know no reason for not discussing the shows on here. I have been on 9 Carnival cruises and the shows have always been fantastic. I will be on the same cruise that you are going on and, I am sure, that we won't be disappointed. There is always the Welcoming show on the first night and then the big show usually the second night and smaller versions as the cruise progresses. Being an 8 day cruise, there might even be 2 big shows. Hope you (and I) have a great time.

  13. Why does everyone assume anything security related is due to 9/11?

On my first cruise, pre-9/11 I asked about this very subject and was told they really do not let visitors on anymore.

It is more of a hassle and the cruiseline gets no true benefit out of it.

Also, some of the cruiselines do offer tours, for a fee and others give them to travel agents because the sell cruises.

People are way to quick to throw out the "9/11 card" anytime they can...

9/11 is kind of the benchmark for all things securitywise nowadays. Perfectly understandable.

  14. I know that the itinerary was changed. But, my concern is getting to and from The Bahamas without going thru the storm. By leaving Baltimore and sailing south, the ship, looks to me, would have to sail right thru the storm as The Bahamas and the Caribbean islands are south of where the storm is coming across. I would be very interested in seeing the route that the ship takes. They may be OK travelling south and get thru it before it hits but coming back north, I think, would be a rough sail. I hope that they have a good and safe trip.

  15. Can someone explain to me exactly what Cruise Cash is? I see the term frequently and see others asking questions about it. I don't understand the concept. I have an upcoming cruise in Oct. I have almost $300 OBC and my credit card on file should I need to have to use it. What is the advantage of purchasing Cruise Cash? I am just curious as to what that advantage is.

  16. Hello!

Please see my previous post: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2673101

On August 29 I called for a price reduction, as I was booked under early saver, and received a casino offer. They gave my husband and I an OBC of 120, and we were both eligible for 50 Casino Cash each.

I check the price of our cruise today, and it has gone down another 60.00. So I called....

The first gentleman I spoke with immediately processed it, and sent us the new confirmation. It showed the price reduction, but not the extra 60 as OBC. So I called back and spoke with someone else.

I was told that the 60 would be refunded to us, and I wanted it added to our OBC. I ended up 'debating' with the guy because he told us we were now booked under the Casino deal (which is why we were getting the casino cash), and that we can only get price reductions until the final payment date (Nov 18). And once you are on the casino deal, 'refunds' go back on your card, not done as OBC. I quoted the 'Once an Early Saver, always an early saver'...but that didn't seem to get me anywhere.

Ultimately what I wanted was the 60 to be OBC, which is what I got...but he told us we are under the casino deal now...which doesn't make sense since there is no price protection on the casino deal. I asked what the note meant under my confirmation (ie early saver), and he didn't know, then when I told him it was early saver, he said NO. He told me that Carnival doesn't combine deals (ie early saver and casino), and I tried explaining that we didn't switch promos, we were priced matched based on the promo...which didn't get me anywhere either.

I am very new to the price protection...apparently I have only gone on cruises that have gone up in price! Am I saying these things incorrectly? Is there another way that I should be explaining etc so that the customer reps know what I am talking about?

    Thanks for your help!!

I have always booked Early Saver and this is my 9th or 10th Carnival cruise. I have always been happy to get the reductions in price. This time (and I am booked for Oct 27 to Bermuda on the Conquest) they called and offered me a balcony upgrade for $300 (I always have an inside cabin). Because of my price reductions, I had accumulated $269 in OBC. Had I taken that upgrade offer, I would have had to pay the $300 plus I would have lost my OBC that I got for ES. These different categories are so confusing. Glad that I stayed with my Inside cabin.

  17. I have limited search capability from my phone, and limited wifi access while abroad, so I'll just ask. My wife and I are on Conquest on 10/27/18 and will be overnighting in Bermuda. If we plan a long day off the ship, is there a deadline in the evening for being back aboard?

We are not worried about being left behind, as the ship is not leaving that night. We just want to ensure we can get back aboard anytime we want, and if not, what the timeframes are. I cannot call Carnival from where I am to ask them.

Will be joining you on the same cruise. I don't plan to be out late as I will be travelling solo but was also curious as to any specific time one needed to be back to the ship. Looks like it will be open all night. Looking forward to a great cruise. First time to Bermuda.

  18. Hey everyone,

It looks like we are not going to have a MEET & MINGLE through Carnival Cruise since our cruise is only 6 day long. The idea being: Everyone meet at the SKY BAR on the LIDO DECK at 7:00 PM on the first night of the cruise. Hopefully, PIZZA PIRATE and the SEAFOOD BAR will be open at that point. This gives everyone a chance to eat and get settled.

    Pizza Pirate is open 24/7.
