Hi. I'm looking at a 10 night April 2017 cruise on Gem and trying to decide between Suite 9002 (only non-haven suite left) and a mini-suite. Generally I'd prefer the suite, but read a bad review on the condition of the aft-facing suites which is making me think twice about spending the extra money. Has anyone been in this suite since the Nov 2015 refurbishment? Appreciate any and all opinions!

Just checked Celebrity's website and the classic package is $55 per day, premium is $65 per day. I also thought the GoBest package included the premium package.

Darn. I was planning on using this service on our upcoming Dec cruise.

Frozen aspen coffee but have to agree the mudslides are really yummy too. Got my sister hooked on the frozen aspen last year and she texted me on the way to the port a few weeks ago to remind her of the name. She was dreaming about that first one after boarding!

A little off topic, but for the luggage you will be taking with you through Italy we find that packing cubes really help to keep your clothes organized and easy to access without rummaging through everything. We also find we can fit more into one suitcase with them.

The least relaxing dining experiences we've had was because of adult only tables that didn't seem to realize there were other diners in the room.

Nice plan for OBC use!! We actually have a total $1,100 OBC (200 from celebrity for a canceled cruise and 300 from TA). I'm thinking spa and maybe trying a Chef's Market excursion.

When we were on Summit last year the AC was a major issue in the stateroom (not cooling the room). Does anyone know if this has been fixed?
-
For comparison purposes, we booked a RS on a Caribbean cruise in Dec 2016 under the Go BBB program. Since internet and premium drink package comes with a RS, we selected Better and took the OBC and gratuities, effectively getting all 4 perks. Under the current program which includes all 4, the price for a RS is $200 more than what we paid. In addition there was a special program when we booked giving an extra $300 OBC ($600 total).
I haven't sailed in a RS before, but as others have pointed out, and according to the website, a RS also comes with a bottle of "proper champagne" (which I also love) instead of sparkling wine, 2 bottles of spirits, free mini-bar and unlimited specialty dining.

This is being offered in San Juan on our upcoming Dec cruise. Has anyone experienced the San Juan tour?

Norris thank you for such an entertaining and fair review. I know you've only heard it a hundred times (or 45 pages worth) but the pics are really beautiful. We've sailed Celebrity the last three years and have really enjoyed it. I am surprising DH with a cruise on Silouette in Dec to celebrate a "big" birthday and your review has made me very happy with my choice of ship!

Seems the analysis would be different depending on where you live and what kind of liquor you want. If I ordered a bar set-up it would be Bombay Sapphire. In NY a 1 liter bottle would cost between $38-$42. Add the cost of tonic and nuts and you're at about $45. If it costs $100 that's just above 2x retail. To me that doesn't seem unreasonable based on the typical mark-up of wine and spirits in any restaurant. If I was talking about a bottle I could buy for $15 of course that would be different.

Thank you all for your help. Good point about being able to bring wine on board, forgot about that.
-
Can we request a specific brand of gin as part of the bar set-up in a RS? Has anyone ever requested Bombay Saphire? I'm pretty sure I've read that you can substitute wine for one bottle. Would we be able to request a red and white in exchange for the bottle of scotch (two bottles of wine for one bottle of scotch)? Appreciate any advice from the very knowledgable CC cruisers!

I introduced my sister to frozen Aspen coffees on our Bermuda cruise last June. It became a daily event!

We've sailed in suites on our past 7 or 8 cruises for the space. After experiencing Luminae on our last cruise I have to say I will look to Celebrity's itineraries first when planning future cruises. For us this is a significant differentiator.
-
I hope they stabilize the AC. The inconsistent temperatures around the ship, and in particular in our cabin, was our only real complaint during our Bermuda cruise last June.

Thank you for the fast response! Looking at the math, looks like it is the room gratuities (16.45 PP/PD). I selected the prepaid gratuities as a perk so this definitely shouldn't be on the invoice. Thanks, again....

Hi. Just booked a RS for 2016 and I noticed on the invoice from my TA that there is a charge for Beverage Package Gratuities. I know that the premium beverage package is includesd with the RS, but are the grats also included? Before I call hime I thought I'd check with the experts. :)

Just booked a Caribbean cruise for next year got $300 OBC for booking a suite. This is in addition to the perks selected under the Go BBB perks. Ends today for anyone on the fence for booking.

Thank you all for the helpful info!

Hi. I'm thinking of booking a cruise on Breakaway and when I look at the room sizes it shows approximate sq. footage and separately states the size of the balcony. Is the balcony sq footage included in the total? For example, a mini-suite states approx sq footage of 239 and balcony of 32. Does that mean the room is only 207?
-
Hi. Can anyone say whether there is any difference between a mini-suite and a balcony on Breakaway other than the room size?
-
We love the shape of the Sky suite, more square than rectangular which makes it feel bigger to us. Love the size of the balcony. Love the butler service. And Luminae puts it in the "must have" category.

Can anyone comment on the Solstice deck 7 S1 corner aft suites? Any pros or cons would be greatly appreciated.
