  1. Ah!! The habitual complainers are still here in the new year. Welcome back. Or, please go to the RCCL or Princess or Celebrity line thread of your choice. If you find a cheaper cruise, including specialty restaurants, and your drinks, BUY IT. I doubt you will.

Not complaining from this NCL girl, just making an observation.

  2. Too bad it is costing more to "feel free" these days..... This new slogan is going to go the way of Comcastic did for Comcast unfortunately...... You can't add all kinds of surcharges like they did then use the slogan feel free. That is just begging for backlash.

  3. TO the OP that will probably never be back the the Norwegian CC board..... Here is my advise to you: Will things go wrong on vacation? YES. Will everything meet your expectations ALL the time? NO. You can either do one of two things. Accept the fact that you are on vacation, smile, say a kind word and find that the people serving you will smile back and try a little harder to make your day better too. (Granted sometimes they are having a bad day too and you may need to try a little harder to make their day better.) Or You can wake up on your vacation, piss in your corn flakes, pout, sulk, tell everyone how much they suck and pass on your bad mood to everyone you see. The choice is yours but remember, we get back what we give so choose wisely, kindness or bitterness. The choice is yours.

  4. I believe some of the 2 bedroom Haven suites convert to a double bed instead of bunk beds. At least that is what our cruise consultant told us, as we are sailing with 2 couples in a 2 bedroom Haven suite next September. Otherwise, our vacation with involve my husband and I fighting over the top bunk. :) LOL!

  5. People on vacation tend to drink more than at home. This may lead to a night or two of having to much to drink and letting the booze get the best of you. You say you have a weekly bar tab at home, well you are an experienced drinker and know when enough is enough. A lot of people save for a cruise and when that week comes, they will "let loose" and unwind on a well deserved break from work or other stresses of home.

I personally do not care when I see a bunch of people young or old having a good time. When I see the young ones chugging it brings back memories of when I did the same thing. A chug chant is fine as long as it does not go on forever. After all a bar is a place to have fun, laugh and enjoy company.

As far as someone throwing up in a bathroom, I would say "boy I am glad he at least made in there and did not throw up in public". I would then make sure he was ok, then move on to the next bathroom to do my business.

I like the UBP and have had it twice already and have one more cruise coming up with it. On my last cruise the second night I took advantage of it a little to much to the sound of 19 drink receipts in my pocket the next morning. It happens to the best of us.

Same with us AND to the OP, it was ME Christmas treeing the buttons on the elevators, not my son. :D

  6. Next September, my hubby, myself, our best friends will be sailing on the Escape in the Haven 2 bedroom villa. My question is the beds in the second bedroom just bunk beds or is a double bed an option? Dear Hubs and I drew the short straw and want to know if we have to bunk it or not. :D If we do, I call the top bunk!!!!:p

  7. The one thing I did not see mention but is very important. Do not wait to contact the help desk to let them know about your allergy. You want to notify them as soon as possible so they can properly order the required stuff ahead of time. We notified them about 3 months out. The first time it was only a couple of weeks and some of the things weren't as readily available (but that was in like 2011).

  8. This trip, we are flying into FLL, renting a car for 1 night, $35 through BJ's Wholesale club travel, staying at Holiday Inn across from the marketplace then returning the car at MIA. The car rental place has a shuttle that runs right to the port. To get back to FLL, we are booked out transportation through NCL for $25 pp. This past September we did the same thing with great results (7 adults, 1 teenager and all our luggage squished into a minivan for $50 for one night rental Thank goodness for stow and go seating. Those compartment sure came in handy.) Thank you Thrifty and this time Dollar. :D

  9. No offense to the OP but REALLY!!!! My guess is that once one tiny thing went wrong, you were just looking for bad things to happen. No vacation goes 100% smooth, it is all in how you manage the bumps that will make or break your vacation. Looks like the first bump broke both your axles on your "vacation bus". May your next vacation be more to your liking. Good luck.
  10. You are going to want to contact NCL now regarding your allergy. Don't wait until you get on the ship. There is a special number to call and they will make sure that your info gets into the system and your reservation is flagged with an allergy. I speak form experience. Last cruise of the 6 of us traveling we had 1 gluten allergy, 2 dairy allergies and a pineapple allergy. This trip we are even throwing a shrimp allergy into the mix too.
