  1. Here's a link listing the hotels offering the 40% off coupon to park at the port.

We have stayed a couple of times at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Titusville, it's very nice but not on the beach. Dixie Crossroads is the place to eat when staying in Titusville, it gets very crowded after 5:00 pm.

Cindy and Lou, We miss you from FOS last November. Been waiting to see something from one of you to see if you have any upcoming cruises we might run into you on. We will be on FOS August 2,2015. Loved the times we shared on our b2b with both of you. Hope you are both doing well. Jan and Cheryl Minnesota

  2. Oh yes another couple things deserted Labadee....only beaches, towels and palm trees. Also kids club did science experiments and so many other cool educational things. The kids were never just fending for themselves in rooms of computer screens and movies. They'd do pirates night and be all painted up marching through the dining room and it was fun for everyone.

  3. Just posting so I can better track this conversation. Hope late spring comes by early Aug. When we'll be sailing in gs. Of course im still waiting for last March to arrive too so I can get the new and improved casino royale vip benefits too. Guess rccl calendar operates on a different calculation than mine.

  4. Helicopter pad is fun, but once you get to open seas it is the windiest place on the ship so it might not be the greatest for a sailaway. In addition at some point around dinner the crew will sometimes block entrance. Back of the ship just past Johnny Rockets might be more protected and usualky not alot of people there.

  5. Its a roll of the dice like everything else on a ship. There can be just as much noise, if not more, from the halls, or if you are across the hall from storage rooms usedby room attendants, or if you have party people next to your balconey. It is no different than hotel rooms, in fact is better than most. If you are that sensitive bring earpkugs. If it is really extraordinarily loud call guest services or security. Just don't let something like that ruin your trip. You will never have total quiet unless you book the whole ship for yourself......oh wait there will still be noise in the hall.

  6. Tge six minth rule has been in effect for years, long before 9/11 and the subsequent security measures. Sadly that does not pacify the exteme disappointment you all must have felt, however it is printed in numerous places on rccl website. They do tell us to read all documentation thoroughly. When you do online checkin it clearly says to read online documents and setsail pass info. Had that been done you would have been able to check passports and expedite new ones if needed. This is unfortunately a reminder that we as passengers have responsibility to know all requirements. Rccl did their partby clearly stating the requirements. Passports are just one thing to be alert too. Many countries require visas also and it is always the passengers responsibility to know which countries require them and how to secure them. I'm truly sorry this happened but maybe someone else will read this and be spared the same disappointment.

  7. It is very rare you are just scanned on the ship anymore. Generally you will be gathered at a designated place with all b2b cruisers. After all pax have disembarked except those doing b2b you will be escorted off the ship, thru customs, zero clearance will be given and you will be allowed right back on before any new passengers. You then can come and go to your room or around ship as you please. It varies somewhat by port and cruiseline but we do b2b all the time and it has been several years since we were scanned and did not go through customs.

  8. I know, why don't you do their job every day for six months and see if you can be happy every day, every week. Yes they have a job that requires patience beyond thatt of most jobs, but they also have other things in their lives. They are selected for that job because of excellent interpersonal skills and being able to handle many tasks at once, but just like in your jobs....or retirement...every day is not a happy day. We had a suite room steward once who just seemed off the norm. Come to find out he had just lost 11 relatives in the Phillipines typhoon and could not get a hold of several others. He had 3 more months on his contract and was feeling helpless. Once we talked he did so much better just knowing someone cared. Everyone has a story, including every person on this board. If we really knew each other's story how differently wouod we act. Next time you encounter someone who seems standoffish or less than helpful, reach out to them on a personal level and just watch the transformation. There are robots at bars on the new ships, but ships still use humans in the lounges. Also just sit a few times and watch the number of people that treat them like trash. Not trying to preach but just offering my own personal perspective. This is just my life story so please don't accuse me of preaching.

  9. Based on the desires you have for your teens, Freedom would be best. I have taken my teen girls on both. They are similar in amenities and features but they like Freedom far better. Seem to be more teens, as a general rule, on Freedom, so more chance for lots of kids they can hook up with. I kind of think the fact Freedom goes out of port canaveral, alot of passengers take a few pre or post cruise days in Orlando at the various parks and this increases the number of teens/kids. As far as ports you will enjoy all of them, though Belize has gotton increasingly dangerous if you try to do things on your own. Lastly, Port canaveral is more accessible in my opinion.

  10. Bertie Almeida was on until drydock. In November he told me he would be back on Freedom in Feb after a six week break. Probably all emails to freedom are bouncing due to drydock. The concierge usually contacts suite guests one to two weeks before your cruise. At that point you can respond. Until then, probably no luck.

  11. Guess I am old too. Used to send myself cards from each port to collect picture and stamp as memory. Miss being able to do that on the ship. Of course, back then.....oh so long ago.....they would also hold your passport at the pursers desk and get the country stamp for each port. Loved the old days......
