  1. Just talked with casino royale rep and said you clearly have to sali by March 15, no4 just book. I was not thrilledbeing I am doing b2b in Nov. Anyway her comment was "it will be totally revamped to be bigger and better and more like land based programs"....whatever that means. Nothing to be known until next year. Guess I will do all my casino play week one so I can get cash rebate while cruising week 2, then play minimally week 2 until new program comes out.

  2. Please quit blaming Guatemalans like it is some sort of a cultural issue. Having led a customer service area for a fortune 50 company, if there is a customer service issue it is most often the result of training and/or supervising......not because the reps are inept. I adopted my daughter from Guatemala and she was reading encyclopedias at age 3. The Guatemalans I have interacted with have shown me they are a brillant culture and some of the most hard working people you will ever find on the planet. These ongoing references to the reps being from Guatemala, therefore they are incapable,is offensive in every way. Please be careful about derogatory blanket statements regarding other cultures. There may be an isolated individual, but that does not equal an entire ethnic group. Look at where the source of problems originate.....it usually is not at the bottom of the employment heirarchy.

  3. I went outside the gates there a year ago and it was horrific. My sister and I were surrounded by men and they were getting in our face, touching us and it was so scary I literally started crying. Thankfully an angel lady came and broke up the mob and told us to follow her quickly and not stop or talk. She got us safe and helped get us a horse cart trip with another couple so we would feel saferand she assured us she woukd meet us on return and get us back in the gates. The trip ended up being nice and sure enough she was there waiting for us at the end. I will never, ever leave the gates again unless I am with a formal tour group!

  4. Alaska can be sailed without going to Canada. Celebrity, for example, has some ships sailing from Seattle and she could take in stunning scenery without leaving the ship, if she so chooses. Another option might be an itinerary to Bermuda where you basically stay there the whole trip except sea days. Hope something works out to meet all your interests and that she has a great time.

  5. There are many things that impact times. The time the ship clears entry, when the ship will be leaving, size of the ship, what port you are in. For example AOS in Puerto Rico leaves later at night so usually do not have to be off until 10 or 10 :30, when another ship leaves at 4pm and need the ship clear by 9 or 9:30. If the ship has 6000 plus passengers there is not as much flexibilty with disembarking as the 2800 pax ships. It is always helpful to the ship's crew the earlier they can completely clear the ship. It is also tough on b2b cruisers when there are a couple stragglers waiting until the last minute because they cannot go off, clear customs and go back on until the ship is at zero count. All of us want every last minute we can enjoy....unfortunately disembarking day is not too condusive to grabbing that extra time.

  6. There is always room service too....and on some ships, Johnny Rockets and cafe promenade all of which can be options with smaller children. Of course the Oasis class has many additional dining options, but that does not help on this particular cruise. Room service is a top option with toddlers though, as you can ask for some kid friendly things not available elsewhere. I would ask for p&j sandwich, cut up fruit and maybe some fries and my kids were hapoy as could be. I did also takemy toddlers to mdr and found the servers to be grwat with them. Always brought the kids "munchies" to keep them hap9y as we ate our way through the courses.

  7. The tutti salad bar is only in mdr, though windjammer has makings for a salad. It is just not as extensive in windjammer. As far as dressings, they also have thousand island. If you like a specific kind you might look into buying some salad dressing packets and bring them with.

  8. One addtional note. Do use your seapass card to track your play as it is possible you will accumulate enough points for free money or prizes. Depending on how much you play you could even accumulate enough to join club royale. If make it to club royale you can get cash with no service fee. The sea pass is not useful for cashing out, but does have benefits. I am sorry I do not know the thresholds that get you into club royale. Another benefit with club royale is based on your play, you either get cash for use on your next cruise, or an equal amount that can be applied to your next cruise. In addition there can be some very good percentages off your subsequent cruises. Again I do not know their formula for calculating this but I do not play huge amounts of money and yet have gotton some great benefits. I am faithful with inserting my seapass card each time though.

  9. There is a wide swing for women from nice dress to gown to pants and cocktail top to pantsuits. There usually are a fair number of women in gowns tho who enjoy dressing up for a special night.

As far as men we have been on many rccl ships where the men were not allowed into mdr without a jacket....in fact they had jackets they were giving to men at the door. I have also seen where men did not have jackets. Perhaps it has to do with who is maitre'd. Chances are tho on a 3 day cruise a button down shirt, as suggested, would be fine.

  10. Which island? Coco Cay or Labadee and what other stops. Usually formal nights a jacket is required, but it may be different on a 3 day cruise. Also, which ship? Activities vary by ship? I know we can give lots of thoughts but jyst need a few more specifics. Thanks

  11. Ever heard the saying, you pay for what you get? If I buy a 1st class airline seat I expect certain things for the extra several hundred dollars. Same for a suite. If I am paying 4000 for my cabin and someone else chooses an inside for 800 I expect to get certain benefits......that is why I am paying more. Conversely, if I choose the less expensive choice, I still expect pleasant, efficient service and to be kept equally safe on my journey.....just not a tub, lounge, or a few other perks. It is a choice. Welcome to life....you pay more, you usually get more. Now, that being said, it is never okay to flaunt your choice. All of us are equal as individuals and no matter what one's choice is, ALL deserve the same level of respect and kindness.
