I wonder if ports like Venice may be an issue, they're cracking down on ships, as well as others who are trying to slow down tourists from trampling the places, especially post cooties

Carnival changed my cabin! What would you do?
EngIceDave replied to spumonisowner's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
This is correct. That said, have you called them and attempt to negotiate? What do they say when you mention it's a downgrade, "Tough sh*t?" Feel like I am missing some information. IMO, negotiate otherwise your ONLY choice is to cancel. Like airlines, once on-board, they're in control and can do about anything they want while on board -

I have a question/request. What wifi package do you have and can you stream any type of video? Hulu, Netflix, YoutubeTV Reason I ask, and I know it's crazy, but I want to watch the Murdaugh trial, should likely start late this week or next...gonna be a humdinger! So I want to know if the wifi can push video at all. I do have the max package. Any idea if it can? -
Should carnival add a new tier?
EngIceDave replied to ALWAYS CRUZIN's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
IMO, I think CCL's plan was for cruisers to eventually "graduate" to upper tier brands at higher prices as they become accustomed to and tire of their entry level product, Carnival. Seems to me, from a marketing standpoint, CCL should target those Diamond+ folks to move up to the premier brands. -

Literally my favorite part of a cruise. Morning coffee on the balcony, looking at the sea or some foreign port. -

$20 a day in the 8 cent slots.....
EngIceDave replied to Vitamin_Sea's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I'd agree with that, I have what I'd call numerous generous offers, insides to suites, but all are limited. It's not every cruise, but I do have a standing offer of like 30% of "any cruise," big deal. Offers aren't any time any cruise, they're specific to fill in slow times Especially Australia, they REALLY want me to go down there and play -

Thought it may be one of those types, but never tried to play down that far. I have seen people do it, solely to hit the bonuses -

The luxury yacht has an interior designed by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. She can accommodate 12 guests and 16 crew. Features The motor yacht features an elevator, a skylight above the owner’s bed, and a Jacuzzi on the owner’s deck. There is a pool on the sun deck. Just J’s is powered by two Caterpillar Engines. Which bring her a 16 knot top speed. Her cruising speed is 12 knots. Owner The yacht’s owner is US billionaire Jay Schottenstein. The yacht’s name probably refers to the fact that all the names of Schottenstein’s direct relatives start with a J. Jay is married to Jeanne, he has three sons. Was called Cypress Casino. It’s what the seminoles used to use to leverage the state, many times, threatening to build a giant casino hotel out there like the one in WEST WEST Miami. seems gone now, but you can see the big square plot right at the road fork. Used to also be a motocross track out there. Seminole MX. Can still find videos online. -

Of course it does. It has everything to do with luring you back to take more money. They don’t comp you as a “gift” it’s an enticement. Give you more to make you play more. -

Being an easterner, I haven't driven the alley in years. Did you know....when you see that last (only) gas station a few miles from the east end, if you get off there and follow that road, there used to be a casino in a tent. Dead serious. -

Casinos are ALL ABOUT TIME Major calculus is time....Time x avg wager x house edge (what you play) x hands (plays) per hour It's called ADT or Average Daily Theoretical. All casinos use this is similar formulas. You can walk into any casino, drop $1000 on a single roulette spin, lose and no one cares.....no one will blink Lose $1000 over a few hours, now you're known, because you go up, down, up, down and in the end, that thousand dollars was actually a "coin in" of maybe $5,000 TIME is your friend in a casino. You did it right. Better to play down and play longer that up and lose fast, if comps are your goal. -

Well, upfront we have a balcony on 14 fwd port. Have an excursion in San Juan with a walking food tour. I have two cooking classes, pizza and cake decorating (I cook, wife burns water). I don't really GAS about cake decorating, it's the bag piping I want to learn. I wanted the pasta class, but was sold out. One thing I will be able to help and report on is for folks following knee replacement 4 months out. How is it getting around and so on. Been working on fitness and stamina just for this ship.
