  1. This is basically what I needed to know, thank you! I'll be arriving at 9:30. For the people wondering why I selected an early time if I wasn't necessarily going to arrive then, I thought I was signing up for a boarding time (while marveling "wow, Norwegian boards so much earlier than other lines!") rather than an arrival time. And then when I realized those were two different things I wasn't sure why arriving so much earlier than boarding would make sense.
  2. I'm boarding Getaway in NYC on Monday. This is basically my first time on Norwegian and I'm confused about when to arrive. My e-docs say my scheduled arrival time is 9:30am, but they also say that boarding starts at noon. So...why would I show up at 9:30? Like, is there a reason I would want to sit at the pier for that time, or am I better off just arriving at 11-ish? I'd like to not be sitting in the terminal for hours (I know from sailing on other lines that it can get *crowded* and unpleasant) but I also don't want to find myself in the way back of some line I didn't know to arrive early for. Other cruise lines I've sailed just give you a boarding time, not an arrival time that's hours before boarding starts, so I'm just...confused.
  3. I'm on a Celebrity cruise this autumn that stops overnight in Benoa (Bali). I don't have any interest in any of the shore excursions being offered, but I don't want to just not get off the ship in somewhere as special as Bali. I'd also rather not take my chances picking up a taxi at random from the port. Can anyone tell me if there's anything worth doing/seeing that's walkable from where the ship docks? For instance, a beach, or shopping, or attractions, or anything like that?
  4. I'm looking at a cruise on Celebrity Solstice this fall. I'm American and all my devices that need to be plugged in are, of course, American plugs/voltages. Can someone who's been on Solstice let me know what type of outlets are in the rooms on that ship? Veranda room, if it makes a difference. Are the outlets American? Australian? Something different? I want to make sure I have the right converter.
  5. I'm considering sailing VV for the first time this fall and one of the things I've really appreciated about when I've sailed on other lines is when they organize LGBTQIA+ meetups - inevitably the queer crew turn out to be great, to the point where I'm not positive I'd want to sail a line that doesn't give us this meetup chance. Does anyone know if VV holds LGBT+ meetups on their ships? If so, is it a one-time thing or a daily thing?
  6. I've got three solo cruises lined up for the next year and I find myself wondering how the cruise lines will seat me in the dining rooms. I'm an introvert and would generally rather sit alone than with strangers, but I know there's (obviously) no tables set up for one person in dining rooms. So my question is, will the dining room automatically seat me alone since I am a party of one? Or automatically with strangers to fill out a table? What about if I specifically ask to be seated alone? In case it makes a difference by cruise line or seating type, my upcoming cruises are: Celebrity Silhouette (anytime dining) Celebrity Reflection (early seating) RCCL Oasis of the Seas (early seating)
