  1. It's actually very easy to do this on your own. Take a taxi to the ferry dock (Red Hook I believe) and take the ferry over to St. John. Lots of taxis and shuttle buses there or you can rent Jeeps, etc... We have done this 2 or 3 times. We just catch one of the shuttle taxis to Trunk Bay. We spend the day and then head back to the ferry. We make sure to give ourselves plenty of time to get back. If the ship leaves at 5:00 pm then I would start heading back to the ferry at about 2:00 pm. Honestly, I don't know what you would get in St John if you left at 8:30 and came back at 12:30. Not much time to see anything or even spend at the beach.
  2. I have a question regarding this airfare credit. Is the credit included in the prices that are shown on Flight by Celebrity or is it an additional amount off from that price? Very confusing promo.
  3. Great review on St. Maarten. We were there in March. For those that are happy to just grap a taxi to Orient Beach, I would suggest the following. We got to the beach and rented loungers and umbrella at Le String. It included a free drink for each of us. I can't remember the cost, maybe $20 for both of us? However, we decided to try the Le String restaurant. OMG!!! Some of the best food I've had in a long time. Basically a lovely French restaurant. I had Chicken Marsala Linguine and my husband had a Seafood Linguine. Huge portions (next time we'll share since we can't bring home the leftovers). I also had the nicest Rose wine for only $5/glass! Ok, Gen X, sorry to highjack. Thanks!!
  4. I can completely agree with your "rant". We also cruise Celebrity for the quieter atmosphere and less children. I love that parents bring their children on vacation/cruises with them and welcome all ages. That being said, parents need to be parents. They are responsible for raising their children to be productive members of society. That just seems to not happen much anymore. We were at a restaurant once where there was a multi-generational family (parents, grandparents, small children). The children were yelling, running around and even climbing on the back of the booth and up into the window sill. Everyone else in the place was very bothered by this. My husband asked them to please calm their children down and the dad wanted to take my husband outside and fight!! Anyway, I am loving your review. I love the Equinox. We were just on the Millenium in March and will be on her again next March. I tried to find an Equinox or Reflection sailing that would work, but no luck since my DH prefers very port intensive cruises. Anyway, keep up the good work and thanks for doing this.
  5. I am trying to find out if anyone has had a very recent (after Feb. 1, 2022) port stop in Old San Juan on Celebrity. I really don't want to miss this stop on our 03/21/2022 Millenium cruise as we love Old San Juan (but of course we understand if it doesn't happen also). Thanks!!
