Interesting. Thanks!

Formal night is always night 2 on Enchantment.
Night 2 is Nassau till midnight. They do formal night while in Nassau?

If you will call RCI they will give you the wording you need. It is very specific. They also recommend you call them to review the letter you write to ensure it has everything they need.

We saw them on Independence. They were great!

Please read. Already said we will use the Bistro and not bring baby in the Solarium.
Best-
Steve
Spending lengthy time in the Bistro has the same affect. Most families, if they go to the Solarium Bistro, eat and leave. They don't lounge around playing cards, snacking and having multiple drinks. But you insist on it even though you have other options. (Shrug) Don't get angry when someone complains.

It appears the OP had already decided he would use the Solarium and created this thread to try to justify his decision. Many posters, myself included, have suggested other options he and his friends could utilize over the Solarium. It does not appear the OP has even considered it. It is obvious the overwhelming majority would prefer parents not bring their children in the Solarium. I have a feeling that at some point the OP's plan will create issues during his cruise unnecessarily but, the OP will have his opportunity to prove his rights based on how he interprets the rules. Remember, the RCI staff on the phone are not the staff on ship enforcing the rules. Good luck to all involved!

In the Cruise Planner under Dinong & Beverage. RCI does not open MTD reservations unti approximately 59 days before embarkation.

Good morning all. I hope everyone has a nice hot cup of coffee, tea, or anything that can thaw them out:D
Can anyone provide me or link me to the actual Solarium policies? That would be helpful. We are data driven, rational people. Being able to definitively show GF's sister the information may "head it off at the pass". Whatever the rules may be, I would be happy to pass along, as long as they are from the company and not just opinion-based.
I was able to find this guest conduct policy but it only relates to the pools and tubs, but I can certainly see how anyone looking for information might think it okay to have a child in the Solarium as long as they don't use the pools or tubs.

On Allure what is the proximity of Solarium Bistro to the Solarium itself? Maybe we can find a table in a corner there out of the sun to eat, have some drinks, and play some cards while the baby naps in the stroller? Is that on the second story of the Solarium? Photos of the area would be helpful.
Best (and warmth)-
Steve
Since you want a quiet place to play cards, converse and have drinks, may I suggest the card room or the library. Thanks!

Isn't that the truth. Many that would complain about the sleeping baby are either using rum runners or hogging chairs.
You are making an assumption based on your bias. I would complain about the baby, I buy the drink package (no rum runners for me) and I only use chairs when I am using the pool! I enjoy the quiet of the Solarium and I don't want to worry about waking a baby who will start crying. There are plenty of other places they can talk with an infant!

As long as the new price is not for new cruises only, yes you will get the credit if you ask for it.
-
There are lots of quiet places on the ship that allow children. Please choose one of these to converse with your friends while the baby sleeps. The Solarium is the only place adults can escape from children, including sleeping ones. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the three night cruises do not get a lot of activity on their roll calls.

If it is under the hut tub, one side of the balcony will jut out slightly further than the rest of the balcony. The only time you can't see through the film on the glass is at night. We had the suite directly under the hot tub on 10 and loved it for the extra space on the balcony and the shade.

We only do MTD dining. We have never waited more than 2-3 minutes in line to see the hostess and that was with a 6:00 pm reservation. Once at the hostess stand we were seated immediately. Off times, 6:39, we had no wait at all.
We live MTD!

This has been debated to death in thread on Freedom's mechanical problems! Must we go through this again? The horse has been dead for days. Ma'am, sorry you're upset. This thread will not change that for you or anyone else. Enjoy your next cruise on whatever line you choose.

Use the scanner? Sorry, I'm so technologically impaired :o
Take note of capitalized words. Then add dot com.

Doesn't show how many cabins are available, just that they are available in a certain category.
Not like "Interior Category K - 14 of 312 available"

If you click on the cabin type, it will show you, by deck plan what cabins are available.

Any way you could give me a hint about this site? I would like to look at it!

No, you are not. That is Barefoot Beach. Anyone can rent cabanas on Nellie's Beach.

Happy New Year!!!
2015 brings 4 cruises this year. Two short ones in January (Freedom & Enchantment). Jewel up the Pacific coast of the US in May. And Western Caribbean on Brilliance in November.
Oh...becoming Diamond, too!

Maybe once you understand that there is a difference between corporate RCI and the product RCI then you will get it.
I do understand what you are referring to. However, if you don't like the company that offers the product, why are you still using the product? Cruise another line where you like their corporate office better. You'll be happier and have less to be negative about.

Port charges
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Since it is the beginning of the new year, it is possible one or more of the ports established new rates effective Jan 1. Sometimes they even make adjustments monthly or quarterly, which would make it impossible to keep adjusting charges between booking and sailing. That is why credit for overcharges come onboard. As info, I know this because I used work in ocean-going transportation.
