  1. YES! The food was delicious in SJU, much better than the ship's food.

We were with Victor of Flavors of San Juan. The private tour, in short, was a walking tour of the area with an emphasis on architecture and history and an introduction to locals dishes. We stopped at three local restaurants (not touristy stops) so we could sample things like fried plantains and mofongo. Our fav was Rosa de Triana (we went back a second time after our cruise).

Thank you, do you remember the price you paid for the tour?

  2. What a GREAT and informative post! Love the pictures, daily's and especially the menus!!! Will certainly help us plan specialty restaurants. Just a few questions please if you will,

1- Do you have a copy of Molecular Bar Drink Menu, this will be our first with that option and we have premium so looking forward to that and our fav Martini Bar ( to bad our fav bartender from Constellation, Marco, will not be there to take care of us! )

2- Is there just one show from Sin City ( I see "repeat performance" every time after first night it looks like)

3 -WHAT is the Interactive Indulgence Theme Party? Sounds intriguing, but this is the first I am reading about it?

4- I see there are certain days they are offering lunch at specialty dinner restaurants, do you know the fee for this lunch?

Thanks in advance, looking forward to our cruise in March on Reflection!

  3. Last Spring we paid $100 per child and although they stayed with us for dinner every night and lunch most days, we loved the ability to let them go there after dinner while we leisurely finished with coffees and desserts, then went on to shows or dancing. They play movies late night and have pajama and popcorn parties, my kids LOVED it! WELL worth it. Plus they got backstage tours, backpack bags filled with many goodies, including t-shirts and headphones they still love wearing and fun money to buy toys in a last day auction.

  4. We had a group of 12 and although the package was purchased for my family of 4 and we were told only pictures with one of us in them would be included we found when we got the pictures online they had MANY of them with others from our group that did not include us. We also got many of the actual photos to hand out to those with us. In my opinion it was a GREAT deal and we will be doing it again this next cruise in Spring.

I will also tell you that if you purchase it on board in the first 24 hours they offered us a 20% discount which added even more to the benefit!

We had photographers snapping pictures on deck by the pool, at dinner, getting off at port and so much more.

    DO IT!

  5. We LOVED the photo package! Regularly $224.00 on a 5 night for both pictures and CD but if purchased on first night it was $199 plus a coupon from the sheet given to Captains Club members made it $179 for too many pictures to count ( we gave away several as well) I would HIGHLY recommend this package!

  6. We were in just a regular balcony cabin and put out the card the night before. Everything we ordered was included complimentary: We received two omelets, bacon, fruit, yogurt, croissants, juice and a carafe of coffee even though we only ordered one coffee. Everything was hot and fresh, I enjoyed the croissant and it was buttery but I don't think it had been made that day. Still no complaints, we enjoyed a nice hot breakfast on the balcony while watching them dock in Cozumel. Enjoy!

  7. Completely AGREE! We had 10 with us, a few first time cruisers and ALL first time with Celebrity and every one of us booked another cruise while onboard because we were all so happy! We have never booked our next trip while on our current trip but the service and entire experience was so wonderful we couldn't help say no. Hope they are just as superb on the Reflection!

  8. So glad to hear you had a great time. It is so nice to see people that are so positive about their cruise experiences. Yes, sometimes things are not perfect for everyone ....but if you look for the good in things, sometimes good things come your way. :)

    So so TRUE!

Nice review akowilm! We were on the sailing prior to yours and couldn't agree more! We booked for next year on Reflection, but I am trying to figure out how to get back to Connie before that!

  9. Good advice, we were on a 5 day sailing so couldn't have an official M&M but we were suppose to meet others on our roll call at the Sunset Bar after Sailaway. Because no one knew who was who, I only met one cruiser who I had seen her picture. There might have been others or might not have been. I suggest you arrange to wear a sticker name tag or wear beads or something specific instead of just "lets meet at the such and such place".

  10. You can order as much as you want, they bring out one dish at a time to make sure you really can eat your 2nd or third. If you want salad first, then soup, then a Panini and then a crepe you can, but make sure to tell them what order you want it in, otherwise ( besides the dessert) they brought it out a bit mish matched, but we had no complaints, it was DELISH!

  11. ohhh, Ultimate dinning package, that's a new one I haven't read about yet, really $29 per day sounds like a pretty good deal. If my DH and I ever go solo that is certainly something we would do. Both our last cruise and next one booked we are joining a large group with several different budgets, that is why I asked about the basics. We do all have the beverage package though so we can enjoy all the bars! :)

    Thanks for the tip!

  12. Just off Connie less than a week ago, we had all the toiletries mentioned above with the robes in our balcony room. I did not have an ice bucket but requested one upon arrival and our room Stewart brought one plus an ice bucket for our champagne that we brought, plus two glasses and kept both buckets full of ice the entire cruise. Have a great cruise!

  13. Well said Wallie, SERVICE was definitely the thing that made us fall in love with Celebrity. I just see the fares are a bit higher for the bigger ships and I was just trying to figure out what made that so, more options I guess? I am happy with the "basic" package. I enjoyed the bars/lounges on Connie and I guess I just want to make sure they will be available at no extra charges on the The Reflection as well. The few things I have seen/read so far all come with additional charges.

And another answer to your question, we have never had a beverage package on any cruise so that certainly made the trip much better! :)

Don't think I will take a cruise ever again without one!

  14. Thank you miched, you seem to be the only one with an opinion on this so far? LOL

Are there more bars/lounges? classes? better entertainment? I know the molecular bar is there, is the martini bar still available on S class or is that what the molecular bar is suppose to replace? We REALLY enjoyed the martini bar on Connie!

Most of the pro's you list are on the room itself, of which we spent very little time in. hmmmm, trying to figure out if bigger really is better for me, personally???

  15. So we are just off Constellation ( M class) and we have booked Reflection ( S class) and I have just stared reading about and researching Reflection. I see a lot of nice added bonus specialty food places that all come with added fees but what are some of the free added bonus. I mean, I know its a bigger/newer ship, but if all the added things cost more it doesn't really offer much more than the Constellation which I fell in love with.

Everyone keeps telling me if I liked that I will love this. I am not sure I am convinced. I mean, I know I will like it no matter what, but I am curious to see what you all have to tell me.

Can you tell me your favorite reason why you like the S class better, something that you get with the basic cruise ( in just regular class, not aqua or concierge or anything). Thanks in advance!

  16. So I spoke with my TA today who had to call with a couple of other questions about our reservations and adding some new friends to our date/booking. I asked her to inquire for me. She said she got the same answer that we CAN take advantage of price drops and keep our benefits AS LONG as it is not a special the specifically says "excludes loyalty bookings". So again, we will see.....
