  1. We're planning our first cruise to Alaska right now. In Icy Strait we're booked to go whale watching through Glacier Wind Charters. Teresa has been very helpful with information. Also, if you search this forum for "Icy Strait", you should see some great tips and details for this port.

  2. I don't know that my edocs have always shown my OBC. Always bring a copy of the reservation confirmation which does show OBC. Once on the ship they were missing my OBC and I showed my confirmation and they added it immediately. I always check my bill soon after day 1 or 2 to make sure it's applied.

  3. Scheduled for a 3 day Sky trip in a couple of weeks. I had always wondered if there was a Chef's Table on a 3 day cruise. NCL concierge desk confirmed there definitely will be one as long as there is interest. I was able to let them know ahead of time I was interested, but the ship concierge will confirm and charge me when I get on the ship. Hope to be able to report about it when I do my review.

  4. We had a fantastic time with Shawn on our Whale Watching tour in July. Teresa met us near the dock and drove us to downtown. She was so warm and welcoming and told us about the interests in the area. Their boat holds 6 or so, so it was intimate and comfortable. Teresa provided snacks and beverages as part of the sail. Shawn is very knowledgeable about the area and sensitive to the safety of the whales and balances the viewing with the safety concerns. Teresa made sure we arrived back at the ship in time to board before the deadline. They were great hosts to us and we felt like family to them. I highly recommend their charter.

I've been communicating with Teresa today. She's been awesome. We booked for May. Thank you for the info.

  5. I'm not sure about the corkage fee. I would assume they charge it to your master bill, but I don't know for sure.

The daily service charge of $12pp can be prepaid. You can log on to NCL site and do that or call NCL. There aren't separate tips that are mandatory.

Yes, you can dine anytime, anywhere. Peak times get busier and sometimes there is a wait. You can sit by yourself or with whomever you want always if you like.
