We were in 16710 and 16712 on the May 24 cruise. Sopi was an awesome room attendant. Greeted us by name when we first came to the room. Oliver was fantastic. Suzanna always took great care of us. We too rarely left the Haven. It was our best cruise ever!

Thank you for sharing the video. We've never been to Alaska. We're booked on the Jewel 9 day for May 7 and are pretty excited about what we'll experience.

Thank you for your responses. You sparked my memory. I got facebook, groupon, Instagram, and all kinds of other pushes all week. Data for sure was off and the phone was on airplane mode too. Something was definitely open allowing this to happen. And as far as the phone bill, it is definite there were no charges.

I was on the Getaway last week and I sent texts to other iphones free all week. I'm not sure how it happened, if it was a glitch or how it can happen but.... I have the NCL app on my phone. I did NOT pay the $7.95 to have the full use of it for texting/calling on the ship. I only used the app for the countdown leading up to the ship and then to check out my account charges while on the ship and see what's going on at certain times on the ship. In order to use the app on the ship you have to be on NCL wifi and it's free wifi for using the app. Anyway - all week long whether a sea day, or in port on the ship, I was able to text my family and work associates back home. It wasn't part of or used from the wifi I did purchase to go online to check emails for work. I would stay logged out of the minutes I purchased - on airplane mode, but with wifi on so the NCL app would always work. I checked my phone charges when I came home and as I suspected (because how the heck could you text from the middle of the ocean; and on airplane mode) there are NO texting charges. Has anyone else experienced this? I debated putting it on here in case it ruins it for others who may have had the same good fortune with this as me. Anyway, if you're going on the Getaway soon, you may want to try this. I'm telling you - it worked all week, every day. I communicated through texts only - no wifi charges/minutes used, no phone charges. Once it wasn't working so I turned wifi off, reset my phone and then turned wifi back on and it started working again. Any others experienced this? And how I figured it out was - I had logged out of my wifi minutes and about 5 minutes later a text came to my phone. Spent the rest of the cruise texting for free. Don't know if it had anything to do with my iphone but all texts sent/received were iphone to iphone. Hope someone else will experience the same thing.

We were just in 16712 and 16710. Both were extremely quiet locations and so convenient to courtyard, restaurant and bar.
-
We arrived at 11am. There was no line to go through security and short lines to check in. And then when we got on the ship we walked by lots of people sitting in the terminal waiting to board. No idea what time they must have arrived!

We're Moderno fans. Salad bar is awesome. All the meats are great. The desserts are actually my favorite. I love Cagneys, but I can get a good steak throughout the year. It's rare that I would go to a Brazilian restaurant. That makes it special for us and always memorable.
-
Thank you so much for your review including comparisons between what you've experienced on both lines. I have only cruises NCL and often wonder what the other ships/lines are like.
-
I got one about a week ago. My in laws have gotten one every day since then!

We were on the sky in late December for our anniversary. We loved it. Stayed on the ship the whole time. The crew was great. Only negatives were cold eggs on breakfast buffet and dirty windows throughout ship. We'll go again for sure!

Thanks for the suggestion of writing "no sales" on the spa info. The hard sales pitch for more treatments and products has taken the relaxation out of the treatments for me! I, too, haven't booked treatments because I have a hard time saying no and feel put in a position of having to buy. I'm going to try that suggestion next time!

Absolutely agree. My extended family cruised Breakaway. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. Getaway coming up in just over 80 days. We're all hoping it will be as great as Breakaway was.

Thank you younglegend. Good information. Any idea if there is a steam room in the Haven area, or is it just a sauna?
-
Dailies show it's on the first night at 7:30 pm and 9:45 pm. Does anyone know how long the show lasts? Any review of this show so far? Thank you.
-
If you're staying in the Haven is there really a benefit to getting Vibe passes? What makes Vibe great or better than just hanging out at the Haven? And separately I know there's a sauna in the Haven, is there a steam room? Thank you.

So excited for you. I've got 2 booked right now and looking at the Jewel for next year. Booking cruises and planning for it is my hobby!

On the Breakaway it was not good to have premium seating because you had to look up so much - straight up over you - and it caused neck pain. Getaway - when reading what people have commented so far it seems very worth sitting premium to see up close the magicians. Only drawback is being selected to go up on stage from that section. It's been reviewed as being uncomfortable. If you don't want to go on stage, don't wear a watch. They usually/almost always pick someone with a watch to swipe. Also the Getaway dailies show 20% off for tickets on the first night! That may be a good night to go.

I've been on 6 NCL cruises and have never had a boarding number. Is that unusual? I just show up at port around 10:30-11:00, go through check in and then walk right on.
-
So you know - they do give out maps; however, they are just photo copies of very poor quality. Not the usual nice ones like the other ships.
-
We were on the Breakaway in Spa Balconies and a Spa mini-suite. All around awesome cruise. Would go again in a heartbeat.
-
And ironically they had the first noro outbreak of 2014 on board the NCL Star in January.
Actually, the CDC website lists the causative outbreak as "Unknown" for the NCL Star. It was not a confirmed Noro outbreak.

My husband and I were on the 3-day sky Dec 20 for our 3rd anniversary. It was our second time. We absolutely loved it. I have the dailies and can scan them to anyone who wants them. I don't know how to post them on here. We ate at the main dining room all 3 nights. There is a contingent of servers from St Lucia. Find them - they were all fantastic. Comedian was good but we didn't like the adults only show - too crude. Sushi at the plantation bar was fantastic. We liked sitting at the Great Outdoors for lunch. We'll go again for sure.
Norwegian Sky?

We've been on the Sky twice. It was great both times. We loved the sushi bar in the evenings. Staff was fantastic. Will go again soon I'm sure.
