What personal documents do you take with you on a Caribbean cruise from US? Examples would be things like passport, birth certificate, marriage license, physical copy of credit card, SS card, significant other, etc. I'm referring to US citizen, physical copies (nothing on cellphone). Thanks, XRAY

Sorry, I failed to make it clear. I'm referring to TSA at the airports.

When going thru TSA with a CPAP machine should I mark the machine as "CPAP"? Should I go ahead and open it? It's about the size of a laptop computer. I'll also have some papers from work to review that I will put in one of the pockets while on the flight. I'm just trying to make it easier for TSA and me to get thru the security. Thanks, XRAY

Has PE started back the luggage valet to FLL ? If not, any word on if or when ? Or sailing is on the Odessey of the Seas is not until early December so there's plenty of time yet. We will be flying on Delta. Thanks, XRAY

Can I just go to the Uber pickup area and get a driver to take me to our hotel without using the app? Will they accept cash? I know I can download the app but I'm "old school" and prone to making typos so I prefer not to use them if possible. Thanks, XRAY

Ft Lauderdale Airport - Uber/Lyft Questions
xray0111 replied to Robjame's topic in Florida Departures
Where is the Uber waiting area if we don't pre-arrange a pick-up? Is it in front of luggage pick-up or do they have a special area? How do I know if one is waiting for a pre-arranged fare? Thanks. XRAY -
Cost of games in sportsplex on Odessey?
xray0111 replied to xray0111's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Wife just informed me that we WILL find a way to spend every $ of the OBC onboard mostly on food and drink. I'm sure she left out "shopping" on purpose. I realized too late I misspelled the name of the ship. Thanks for the replies. XRAY -
Cost of games in sportsplex on Odessey?
xray0111 replied to xray0111's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Edit to Seaplex on my post. Sorry, XRAY -
I have a lot of OBC to use. One of the things I have not seen mentioned here on the boards is the cost of the games in the Sportsplex. How does that work? If buying ahead using OBC's do you get a ticket, coupon, etc.? Does each game have a different cost? I'd like to have some idea how this works before buying. Thanks, XRAY

How do I convert OBC into cash in the casino? My TA just informed me of the amount and it was much more than I thought. We don't drink much or eat often in the specialty restaurants. Our gratuities and drink package have have already been prepaid. We don't spend a lot in the shops either. I'm looking at a way to get a few $$$ back and possibly spending that on a future cruise. Do we simply put our card into the slot machine, charge the amount of the OBC to our account, play a few $$$ and cash out? We will be on the Odessey if that makes any difference. And yes I tried to do a "search". Thanks. Xray

kidz_rn..I'm sure you know that neither stabbed or poked are correct terminologies but both have been used in descriptions. I'll let it go at that. We were vaccinated because our jobs required it. Boosters have not been mandated for either of us by our employers.

Just to be sure.. We had the 2 stab of Pfizer in March of 21' and our 8 night cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale is Labadee, Aruba, and Curacao leaving in December. We have NOT been stabbed again. Are we good to go? Remember, even smart people ask dumb questions occasionally. Tho some may question my smartness. Thanks, XRAY

Thanks Twangster. I guess I need to proofread my posts before hitting the send button. Glad it was clear enough to get a reply. I've watched a lot of videos on You Tube as they tour the ship and cabins but none showed a connecting room layout. The pics were GREAT, just what I needed. Thanks again

Pacemakers are now made of 3 or 4 types of metals. Titanium is the majority component making up 99%. Several studies I read said no harm at the ones onboard, port, or airport. Titanium itself is non magnetic. Always consult a Physician. Do not go into a MRI with a pacemaker before consulting with a Physician. Always tell the MRI Technologist about the pacemaker. Medical xrays have no effect on the pacemaker. XRAY

Do all regular balcony connecting cabins have sofas. I misread and thought I was getting a non-connecting stateroom. Somewhere I read that they remove the sofa to make room for the sofa. Can I assume there is a desk or other chair in the stateroom? XRAY

I have had a pacemaker for about 6 years and have gone thru the TSA scanners 3 times with no problems. In fact I don't know where my paperwork for the pacemaker is, nor do I carry a note from my Cardiologist. As a retired Medical Radiologic Technologist I x-rayed many people with pacemakers with no harm. I have also been on several jury trials and passed thru courthouse magnetometers with no harm. That being said, you should check with your DR's first. I believe the TSA agents will do a Pat-down if requested. In no way am I offering medical advice just stating my personal experiences. XRAY

Looks like I'll just get at usual time and see, especially on the first morning. Thanks for ALL the replies. XRAY

Sorry, I was actually referring to hot tubs in my question. Thanks

We will be on the Odessey and would like the to use the Solarium pools rather early, around 5-6AM. I see now they have lifeguards which they did not on our last cruise. In fact, I actually had to cut the pump on in the pool it was sooo early. We just like the relative quiet and solitude it affords us at that time of day.

proctored covid testing with facetime
xray0111 replied to xray0111's topic in Royal Caribbean International
OCSC Mike...Will probably use the recommended RCCL test if I have to. Ky Bill..I'm also 72. One of the reasons I left medical Radiography was the complexity of the units (for me anyway} and the real skills needed outside of computer skills. I must have stood in front of the beam too many times. Thanks for the replies. Xray -
Is it possible to use the proctored home covid test using a Iphone 10? I am still very illiterate in the use of the Iphone and computer. We have a 3 nite pre-cruise in Ft. Lauderdale before leaving on the Odessey 8 night in December. I have started to look at using Lab Doctors near the port but would like a plan B. I have been looking at You Tube videos but still afraid of making a irreversible mistake. I'm still believe in the KISS concept. Another question..We will be staying at the Hilton Marina near the port. Will I be able to print out the results there using email without joining Hilton Honors (I think that is the name)? We don't travel too much except to cruise every other year or so. Maybe I'll change my name to Old Fart if I can figure out how. But for now I'll keep using Xray. Thanks

Has anyone had any problems with a connecting balcony stateroom on the Oddessey We booked thru a TA and gave her a general idea where (forward, near elevator, deck). Later I found it to be a connecting room. I'm not concerned just hate surprises. There will only be two of us and we are easily adaptable.

If we have to use a proctored test for a cruise how do we set it up on our IPhone 10? Do we just use the Facetime feature on the phone? Should we add the phone number to our contact list before testing? As you can tell we are still in the dark age when it comes to computers and modern phones. Can someone please give us all the buttons to press. Can't find a useful YouTube video that explains the phone setup for the test. Retired Radiologic Technologist that got his head in the beam too many times. Thanks, XRAY
