The bus dropped us off at around 10:30 along the river about a 10 minute walk from Piazza Santa Croce where we would be picked up at 3:40. There were also bathrooms to use at the jewelry store which was our meeting point. We have been to Florence many times before so we really had no specific agenda. We just kind of wandered around. The weather was sunny and perfect.☀️ -
Met in the lounge at 8am and boarded our bus to Florence soon after. Make a 20 minute stop at a leather factory on the way. Very pleasant.. no hard sell and plenty of bathrooms. Actually did buy a little pink pouch for my pocketbook.

Besides Discoveries our dinner choices tonight were the Italian buffet in Windows or the Patio menu.

5:00 and it was party time again.🥳 Met up with our old pal Tony Markey who was the cruise director on our first Azamara cruise way back in 2010. He is now the Hotel Director of the Onward. CHEERS! 🍾🍷 A warm hello from Captain Sanguineti.

Finally a nice stroll back to the marina through town. And a stop at Conad supermarket to pick up a few of these one euro reusable bags. I had bought them on a previous trip to Italy and love them! Very sturdy and just the right size.

☀️Good morning Portovenere! We have been here before on a previous Azamara cruise.. not a ton to do but enough to spend a few hours pleasantly. The water was still rough so I think all of the Cinque Terre excursions were cancelled again.

There was a note in the cabin about yesterday's port change.📝 As well as an invite to another celebration.🥳

Oh! Forgot to mention.. While I love my Iphone 13, Sam's Pixel 6 Pro has the most amazing editing feature. You can literally erase something (or somebody) with a swipe of your finger. AMAZING. Now you see them.. Now you don't..

We enjoyed another lovely breakfast at the Windows Cafe. Here are some choices for plant based and gluten free diets. 🤩Also.. shout out to each and every one of the staff at the Windows Cafe.. anytime of day you visit they are all so helpful, friendly and sweet. All smiles from us to them and from them to us.😊

Also disembarkation transfer information was in our cabin last night. A well as logistical information about the Azamazing evening tomorrow.

Dinner tonight for us was at the Asian buffet at Windows and it was outstanding as usual!!😋

Arrivederci La Spezia.. thank you for being a calm port in a "storm." Thankfully these were put away and not seen again for the rest of the week.

First to a party though.. The Hors d'oeuvres, sweets and drinks were picture perfect!

A special shout out to this fabulous jewelry store.. their designs were beautiful. Most pieces under 10 Euro and they all looked like a million bucks.

No make your own sandal shops but La Spezia did have the most gorgeous palm tree lined promenade. The abundant Mediterranean sunshine make it even more beautiful. A lovely little town to walk around in.
