  1. The last thing I am doing is complaining. It does cause a little more bookkeeping as my buddy and his wife will stay in my wife's Neptune Suite and obviously my wife will stay in mine. That is unless she gets mad at me. We just need to make sure my friend will utilize the total $400 in OBC without my wife's charges getting in the way. I think I will have him charge $400 to the room for chips the first night at the Blackjack table. That will alleviate the need for bookkeeping.
  2. Last night we are going over the accounting for our upcoming casino cruise on the Rotterdam June 5th. Both my wife and I get free Neptune Suite guaranty's so we are bringing friends. We had to pay port fees and deposits. For my wifes cabin we had to pay $200 deposit per pax. Her email states that she will receive OBC of $200 per pax once onboard. For my cabin we had to pay $100 deposit per pax and that will be reimbursed by the casino cashier once onboard. I think it would be much easier for all of us if there was consistency.
  3. It was like this a few months ago. Then it reverted to the old search for a stateroom by number. I am still showing the old stateroom by number search. It may take a day or two to update for everyone. I sure hope it updates.
  4. I am not sure that it will be exactly the same but it should be pretty close. I am going on the Rotterdam Jun 5th. I have been checking the daily menus since Sunday to get a general idea. If you start checking 2 weeks before your cruise you will have a real good idea. Since the app can give you an idea it is not totally worthless.
  5. The menu you see for today will be todays menu on the ship. Look again tomorrow and the menu will change to tomorrows menu on the ship. After one week you should have all 7 days of the week menus.
  6. it shows the menu for that day on the ship. You can screenshot a weeks worth of menus to give you a pretty good idea.
  7. I have seen it happening on Princess also.
  8. I will admit living very close to ORD where United is a hub I fly them quite a bit. I have over 800,000 miles with American however. About 120,000 with my "beloved" United. Please just read my actual response and not what you think I am saying. I am quite concise.
  9. I don't see anyone saying HAL is doing this on purpose. There is no one implying HAL is doing anything shady. They are obviously having issues. I have seen other posters in different threads stating they lost their original flights and had to change to flights that were nowhere near as convenient due to stops or longer layover times. I think the purpose of the information posted here is to let members they could experience an issue and to watch out for it. It was because of other posts I read on CC where pax had issues that I was diligent in checking my flights constantly. The entire travel industry is a mess right ow for the most part.
  10. That's why I think it is possible/probable that whatever vehicle HAL uses to pay the associated airline is flawed. As I said earlier my wifes cabin and airline reservation were separate from mine. Both of our flight reservations disappeared at the same time.
  11. This is EXACTLY what happened to us. Fortunately I have a great PCC that handled this quickly. For all I know it could be an internal computer issue at HAL where the monies are not being disbursed in a timely fashion. There have been numerous posts about this exact same occurrence posted in this forum recently. I don't think any cruise company is in great or even decent shape right now but I don't see HAL going anywhere. I rebooked at over $10,000 per on flights that cost me less than $3600 for both of us. I would have canceled that booking no matter what. I just wanted to try and save the seats giving HAL time to work out the issues. Being on a casino offer the casino pays HAL for our cabin within 1 to 2 days of booking so final payment dated are irrelevant for me. If I book a casino offering 6 months out I need to purchase the airfare immediately also. And I can not make any changes.
  12. To cover my rear end I actually rebooked those flights directly with United choosing the 2 original seats we had. That reservation was paid for and then canceled within the 24 hour free cancelation booking period. We were in 3D and 3F and are now in 1L and 2L as we were not able to choose seats next to each other.
  13. @LAFFNVEGAS i have to vehemently disagree with you on the waiting here. There were 2 business class seats left on our flight, the seats we had originally booked, when the reservation disappeared. If I had waited chances are extremely good those business class seats would have been gone. Then I would have to jump thru hoops with connections or fly out 2 days earlier. I understand you are a travel expert and know much more about the travel intricacies than I do but I do understand numbers. Waiting for 5 days with only seats available would have been asking for trouble.
  14. My PCC told me she would forward the issue to the flight ease department which she did. Within an hour the situation was rectified. My flight as well my wifes flight reappeared on our apps. I called United immediately to verify the flights. United was able to verify the confirmation numbers and flights.
  15. I have flown nearly one million miles in my lifetime so I understand the airline game much better than the cruise line game. Although i received an instant flight confirmation from United when I booked the flight ease tickets United was unable to give me any info on that particular confirmation number as HAL had not made the payment yet. I called United as I wanted to combine my wifes and mine reservation as we are traveling on separate reservations due to separate casino offer bookings. My wifes United reservation disappeared at the same time as mine did. You believe whatever you wish but if i were a gambling man, and since I am on a casino offer i must be, i would bet the house on this.
  16. This is definitely a HAL fault. If it was an airline fault I would have been able to handle it with them as I fly United enough to where I have status with them. HAL failed to pay for the reservation when required at the 30 day prior to flight departure date.
  17. From what I am reading here lately it seems like the non payment situation is happening more and more. And it appears the issue arises at the 30 day mark. I am not familiar with WestJet but I realized there was an issue when I saw the seats that I chose on my flights became available. Then i checked and found my reservations for the flights were gone from my United account. If you were able to choose seats that is how I would check. If you see those seats available you are probably going to have to jump through some hoops.
  18. Since your flight is within 24 hours HAL should provide the test on the day before disembarkation. If you are stressing over this book your own transportation to the airport.
  19. Your PCC is critical here. My United reservation dropped due to HAL's failure to pay at the 30 day out mark. Fortunately I have a great PC that responded within an hour of my email and had the situation rectified within 2 hours of my email. Had I not been checking I would have been screwed as they were only 2 business class seats left on our original flight. I can not reiterate enough that you have to keep checking your flights with the airline site.
  20. I was able to book my seats at time of booking for my flights but that was on United. Delta is apparently different. Since I entered my frequent flyer number for United my booking showed up in my United app. This allowed me to follow and manage the reservation including changing seats as we had to do as there was an aircraft change. If you can I would highly recommend you check on your reservation on Delta several times a week as there have been numerous flight cancelations, time changes and aircraft changes lately and Flight Ease is clueless about them.
  21. For a savings of only $40 I would book directly with the airline website. When we booked our business class fares to Amsterdam using Flight Ease, on United by the way, United's site was $3600 per person. Flight Ease was $1700 and some change. That is a savings that is worth it. However we did have issues. Our reservations disappeared at the 30 day out mark due to HAL's failure to pay for them. The only reason I knew was that I OCD over this stuff and saw the seats we chose for our flights available. Fortunately for me we have an excellent and very responsive PCC. She responded to my email within an hour and within 2 hours the situation was handled. I have seen other posters who have had issues with Flight Ease also.
  22. Same here. I am horrendous with names so on embarkation day I call the room stewards into the room and explain that I am very bad with names. I ask them if they like Ben and Jerry's ice cream. They have always said yes with smiling faces. So I let them know that they will be Ben and Jerry. They seem to love this. I let them pick who is who and everyone is happy. Then I give them each a hundred dollars. They are even happier now. We never really need anything but just in case we do I know we will be covered. That will keep the DW happy. And if there is one thing I have learned in life a happy wife is a happy life.
  23. I think everyone here realizes it is very difficult if not impossible to teach an old dog new tricks. We all hate to see what are meant to be the best of intentions actually winding up going against the wishes of this couple.
  24. I would venture to guess there are 10% of pax who remove tips and tip above and beyond. The reason I leave the tips on is that when the tips are removed whatever tips are given to individuals are supposed to be pooled. If you leave the tips on then the individuals you tip get to keep that money.
