  1. We like the size of the mini suite and the bath/shower combo, as my husband likes a bath. Although, if we were ever to go on the Sun/Star ships, I would probably go with the deluxe balcony just because the minis don’t have the bath.
  2. Do you know when Princess signs their hotel contracts? We will be in Rome next April. They show 4 hotels, unfortunately the 1 I want will be closed for renovations. The other 3 don’t thrill me, 2 are farther away from the centre of Rome and 1 is close by the rail terminal, which also doesn’t thrill me. I admit, although the costs of the hotels, even times 2 is not much more when you factor in the costs from the airport to hotel, then hotel to cruise port, and the convenience is nice. The one by the rail terminal is a Best Western and the reviews are decent, so I am a bit on the fence. I do have a hotel booked close to Trevi just in case.
  3. Worried about a medallion that can track you on the ship, but probably has no issue with using a smart phone, computer, credit card, social media (like CC)
  4. Hopefully they will put one on later. How long ago was your cruise?
  5. Sorry, can’t figure which forum Gibraltar belongs to. We will be stopping at Gibraltar next year. Princess offers an excursion for gin tasting in the morning. If I look at the distillery direct, their tasting is from 4pm to 5:15. Our ship leaves at 6pm, and that would make me way too nervous to do. Anyways, I really would also like to do a top of the rock tour to see the apes as well as seeing the tunnels. If I was to do the gin tasting in the morning, what is the best way to see the other sites? Unfortunately, Princess only seems to have tours in the morning. I would love to do the tasting direct as it’s about 1/3 the price as Princess. Thanks for any suggestions.
  6. You can look up videos of these cabins. May not be just The Discovery, but the other ships would have the same set up. I’ve booked one on Majestic for next year and looking forward to it. On the lido deck, just a walk down the hall to the buffet and specialty coffee. The bedroom is separate from the rest of the cabin with a curtain you can close between the section.
  7. I’ll be on her for the 2nd trip after the dry dock. We sailed on her last September, we didn’t try Harmony, but loved the suite breakfast there. Loved The Catch, so happy that they are perhaps moving it there. Sabatinis, meh honestly didn’t think much of it, and as we are planning on spending 3 1/2 days in Rome before the cruise, I’m sure I’d even think less of it. Didn’t try the noodle bar, when we were on it last year, it left from Vancouver, and the large proportion of the passengers, were Asians, so it was always busy. What would be nice is if they would put an adult only area, I like kids, but the shrieking that occurs in the closed in pool, hurts my ears lol.
  8. Just booked the Trevi Collection Hotel for April 2025, that’s one thing down
  9. I wish they would go back to separate dancing areas that don’t involve children running, hopping and generally being a nuisance, you know, just being kids. Yes I understand parents think their little ones are the best, but not everyone does.
  10. You probably can’t get pricing until 9-10 months before you need them. We are planning on April 2025 and that is what I am finding. Hotels don’t show that they are not booking, but show that they are full or pricing is ridiculous. I have a list of hotels I’m looking at, now I just have to try to wait until June before booking
  11. We just wear what we are going home in the following day, and pray we don’t spill on our pants lol. I keep a small suitcase that I pack our toiletry bags in, our dirty clothes from the night before. Bring that off with me, and pick up the rest of our luggage in the area. That’s the only time I let my husband wear jeans in the dining room, lol
  12. I had a piece of the red velvet cake last year on the Majestic and did not like it. I found the cake to be dry and tasteless, and the icing didn’t taste anything like cream cheese icing, and I love cream cheese icing
  13. It was supposed to be some kind of residency rate, but it only applied to the Premier package. Some pricing I saw, the Premier was only $1 more. I wasn’t questioning it 😄😄
  14. I just refared my cruise for next year, had it at plus, was adding on Premier. I don’t know what kind of deal they have going on, but for a 10 day cruise, it was an extra $136. Considering that includes 2 specialty dinners that would of cost $200, I think that’s a good deal.
  15. Do they ship your medallions if you are on a Europe cruise? I’m Canadian, our cruises last year we had to pick up (Fort Lauderdale and Vancouver), I didn’t think it took that much longer. Now they will mail them to us Canadians, but we are booked on a Mediterranean cruise next year leaving from Civitavvecia, and the option is not there. Perhaps because it’s over a year away, I don’t know.
  16. Wow cruisinsince75, now that’s a complete balls up. At least I still have my cruise (well so far lol). All I remember in my insurance schooling, was an offer and acceptance makes a contract, but again, many years ago. It just seems so many corporations forget who their customers are, and it’s not just their shareholders.
  17. Thank you for emails, I’ve sent the first one, see how that goes. Considering this is the Xmas season, I doubt I will hear anything for a few days. Merry Christmas everyone
  18. That’s what I think, they made the offer, I accepted, they sent over confirmation, sounds like an agreement. Who would I escalate it to, and do you have emails? Thanks
  19. A couple of weeks ago, booked a Mediterranean cruise, 10 days April 2025 for roughly $9100, with Plus package. Last week I had noticed price had dropped to $8500. I contacted Princess thru chat to refare my cruise. The person I spoke to first said she could refare it at about $160 less, I said no, price on line was $8500, so she said she would look into it. She then came back with Premier pack, and the price of the cruise was $7700, so I jumped on it, booking confirmation was sent out with everything as discussed at $7700. I happened to check my payment, and the price is now $9100. I then get back on chat with Princess and basically I am back to the sale price with Plus at the $8500. Now I am just a little pissed at Princess, it was one of their employees that gave me the price of $7700 with Premier. The person I spoke with said nothing she could do. Personally I think they offered a price, sent confirmation, and then reneged on price, without any communication. Now I think I could be a little bit happier if they would at least offer a couple hundred dollars as OBC. I would like to take this up the chain, who would I be best to write to, and if you had any email addresses for them. I was quite happy at the drop in price, and even happier when she gave an even lower price lol. Thanks
  20. Ours isn’t til then as well, our deposit is refundable. I just asked for it to be refared . She then gave me a price that was about $168 cheaper than our original fare, and I told her the quote on line was $8500, $600 cheaper. She said she would look, and then came back with this much lower number, who was I to argue lol. If they wouldn’t of done it, I would of cancelled cruise and then just rebooked
  21. I didn’t get my $600 drop in price, I got a $1400 drop in price as well as upgrade from plus to premier. Happy cruiser
  22. I was on chat this morning with Princess for a refare and change of cabin. When I checked online last, our cruise was cheaper by $600 cad. I also wanted to change cabin to starboard side, not only did chat change our cabin, they got me a price that was $1400 less than I booked as well as upgrading plus package to premier at no extra cost. It’s just too bad our cruise isn’t til April of 2025
  23. I just checked a Mediterranean cruise I booked for 2025, price is $600 less, I’ll be chatting to Princess tomorrow.
  24. It is for a cruise Sept. 26. I bid in July just after I booked as I was less than 60 days out. I found out about 2 weeks ago. The cruise isn’t sold out, so I did figure I’d get my bid. Glad to find out now, not a couple of days before cruise
