  1. Both me and my husband agree with the about post the Caprese sandwich is delicious.
  2. dogm- Did you call the casino line? I find that is you try to book using the 1-800 number they do not always have your casino offers in their system.
  3. Back in 2010 we went on two one day cruises Seattle to Vancouver both times. If I remember right the casino was open on both cruises but only for a short time 2-3 hours which was good for me because I won $1500 on the second cruise and the casino closed before I could give it back 🙂
  4. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Seems like it is already included in the overall OBC. Was kinda hoping it would be an extra $100 but, oh well.
  5. Musky Ike- I do see $100 as booking promotions under my payments tab. marden1970- In the travel summery Under "special services" I see $100 OBC casino core. but under " onboard credit for this booking" it does not show as casino core as I stated about it shows $100 booking promotions is that it? This sailing for us is more complicated regarding the OBC because we had a cancelled cruise and they gave us OBC for our next cruise (but I don't remember how much) then my husbands account got messed up and he had to call the IT dept. and his OBC for the cancelled cruise was missing so he talked to a supervisor and got $100 goodwill OBC. We usually just have shareholders, future cruise and any other promotions at the time of booking so all these different OBC are confusing.
  6. We are leaving out of Florida so I don't know when you will receive your medallion sailing in Europe. The last time we did Europe was before medallions.
  7. I am going on a cruise on July 1st. I was looking at the on board services and noticed Casino Credit that states $100 OBC casino core. When I go to my payments tab that shows me and my husbands OBC there is nothing showing casino credit. Is this in addition to the OBC that is showing under the payments tab? Is it free play chips or OBC?
  8. Ditto to post # 23. We are on the July1 cruise and the tracking stated it would arrive June 22 but I checked today and it says it will arrive today by USPS.
  9. That’s right. Since our shares are held in a joint account, both names are on the statement. When we are booked in separate cabins, we simply send everything in one email for my credit then wait a few days and send the same statement with hubby’s info a few days later.
  10. I agree with the above post Sled Dog/Helicopter to the glacier. We each took a turn mushing the dogs but if your wife does not feel comfortable she can just ride in the sled, that's what an older gentleman did on our trip. It is expensive and may be cancelled due to weather so maybe have a backup plan.
  11. Yes our CCL stock is in both our names. If the CCL stock is just in your hubby's name only the cabin he is in will get the OBC.
  12. No you only need to own 100 shares. We do this when we take my in laws on a cruise. We send the requests a couple days apart just so the person doing the OBC doesn't think it's a duplicate request for the same cabin.
  13. We have always e-mailed our most recent statement with our names and 100 shares Carnival stocks highlighted. We have always received the OBC but it takes 2-3 attempts to get it.
  14. Is there a trick to getting your OBC so quickly? We have a cruise scheduled on July 1 2023 and e-mailed the stockholders info about 3 weeks ago with no reply. So last week we e-mailed again with "second request" in the subject box. We still have not received our OBC
  15. We were on the Dawn Princess November 2012 for a total solar eclipse in Australia. When we booked it the total eclipse was just a bonus but it became one of the highlights of the trip. I do not have any photos of the people but if I remember right there was many people on deck some with tripods and looooong lensed cameras ( there was a group of eclipse chasers on board) but you could find space. We reserved The Sanctuary for the morning eclipse I believe it was about double the price but included a beautiful breakfast with champagne and I would recommend it if it is available for your cruise.
  16. We also received a free upgrade on our first cruise from an inside to a oceanview room on the old Sun Princess in 2000.
  17. If the tour you want does not allow for only 2 people you may want to go on your Roll Call and see if anyone else wants to join your tour. Viator is also a good option.
  18. Back in 2000 we went to Alaska and enjoyed the River Float in Haines it is like river rafting but in calmer water. We seen lots of eagles and they would throw fish they were inflated with air so the fish would float and you could see the eagles swoop down and pick them up. We also really enjoyed the helicopter flight to the dog sled team on top of the glacier it was expensive and they may not fly in bad weather but the scenery in the helicopter was beautiful and you got to mush dogs on the glacier (I am a huge Iditarod fan)
  19. You or your nieces my want to go on your roll call board and "meet" friends before you get on the ship.
  20. We have been on several 5 day cruises with my in-laws. We book a table for 4 on embarkation day without any problem we like to eat early about 6-6:30. I don't know of the later times would be booked or not.
  21. If you do self disembarkation and want to use the escalator you must have one hand free for safety if not you will need to take the elevator which can take a while. If we have 2 pieces of luggage we use a strap to "piggy back" our luggage so we can use the escalator.
  22. MY DH and I usually but the standard package. We both don't drink a lot of alcoholic drinks maybe 1-2 a day we are elite so we have soda with our dinner if I do want a fancy dessert it may be 1 a cruise and we do go to the gym but we prefer DIY rather than classes. The only time we purchases the plus package was when they have a special deal and mathematically it made sense. We usually have some OBC with shareholders and FCC too.
  23. There is also a web cam at the lock ( I am speaking about the old lock but the new lock probably has one also) you can inform your family and friends when you will be going through and they can watch you. Some people on your ship held up signs for their friends and families at home.
  24. My suggestion is be at the bow when you go under the Bridge of the Americas and when you enter the locks. As you traverse the locks walk about the ship. Go to the back, front up high and low to get all perspectives. Go to the lowest outside deck to touch the side of the lock!
