What about people who only pack sneakers for cruises? Many people advise bringing only a carry-on and pack light for cruises. Now they must also pack other footwear? Perhaps several pairs? I'm confused.

Are you serious - you booked a tour with restrictions - your choice - don't go if you can't/won't bring what you need for a tour -   I'm kayaking, need water shoes - shall I complain about thtat>

  2. would love some input on recent Eurodam cruises -  I know it's an older ship - I don't care --  Would love input on service and food - I've sailed her before and excited to be back next month. Just curious -  Thanks

I also love heading up to the Crows Nest for a cappuccino but, as an early riser, it opens way too late (7am)!!  I carry Starbucks instant coffee and use the hot water available in the buffet.  I also will get a cappuccino the night before and put it in a hydro flask coffee cup!

I love that on a Princess ship I can order a cappuccino with an extra shot every morning that is delivered directly to my stateroom at no extra charge if I have the drink package.  Nothing beats sipping a hot drink on your balcony in a bathrobe!

don't often have a drink package but go for it

  5. what I  don't understand is how you make several hundred people happy at one time  - across cultural and generational and socio economic backgrounds - I'm sure I will need find a perfect cruise and things will change over and over again-  we roll with the changes and decide whether to cruise or not and which line to cruise on.  To do what most people seem to want would cost the average cruiser more money up front -  I don't like shrimp so if you want 2 appitizers you can pay for them -  and I'll pay for the things I like.   HAL is far from perfect but I believe they are trying to stay in business and keep us happy - if you aren't - let HAL know and move on

See people hack and wheeze all the time; they do nothing for others but expect everyone else to stay away and provide a vacation bubble for them.  how's that work?

I don't hack and where all the time -  or at all for that matter -  I don't travel sick - If someone does- I just don't sit next to the hackers Lol  as stated above

  7. gotta love these threads -   people have been getting sick on cruise ships since they started - use to call it Norovirus -  now it's covid  or the flu - or the next "virus"   people should NOT travel if this is a problem -   take your masks if you wish - people won't stop you -  PLEASE do not make me put one on -   my body my choice

We sailed both HAL and Princess since the restart and both have gotten skimpy with selection, I looked at menus from the restart on other cruise lines and couldn't believe the selection, and this was from day one.  Blaming the supply chain or Covid is a favorite scapegoat that they've used to death.  And like you, aside from some sporadic shortages, every grocery I shop at has had probably 99% of their normal inventory levels.

so you would be willing to pay more for a cruise to get more choices on the menu?
