  1. Our ship will be porting in Rotterdam and not Amsterdam as originally scheduled. I want to take the train to Amsterdam. Is it better to take taxi to Centraal station or the tram/train? If tram, then how to purchase ticket?
  2. We used National Express this past October. No problems once on the coach and a very friendly driver. Some advice: I had purchased a changeable ticket online and had a printout with the info. Problem was computer wrong and could not exchange at desk at LHR. Wanted to go earlier. After a few calls got it straightened out but took about 45 min. I had purchased prior to my flight being changed to 3 hours earlier. Secondly - did not understand coach listing on board at LHR station. Would have missed the coach if my husband had not decided to go out and see if coach was there at scheduled time. Found out that I probably could have gotten on that departure without calling as it was not full and another couple did so. Walked to Premier In West Quay from bus station.
  3. No. Didn’t ask. Just looked to see where we could go by train easily. Train station is 15 min walk from Premier. Only 2 platforms there so not too confusing. Purchased anytime off prime return ticket on line a month or so prior.
  4. In the past, with the exception of our TA in April 2022, immigration came on ship prior to arriving at debarkation port to clear passengers. Boarded at some point at one of our ports in Europe. This past April on the Odyssey of the Seas, missed our first port in Europe. Never cleared passport control and left ship after B2b in Rome. No immigration check. Flew Rome to USA via Frankfort where had to go thru passport control. Had to prove to agent how we arrived in Europe. Had no record of our arrival.
  5. We were there 2 nights precruise this past October. Had lunch at the Duke of Wellington. Enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. Had dinner at the L’osteria. Split a pizza and pasta. Also dinner the the Greek place - was okay. Surprised that on a weeknight many of these places required reservations. We stayed at the Premier Inn across from West Quay. Took the train to Bath for a day as an excursion if looking for something to do.
  6. Just now from their website: Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest (of legal drinking age) is permitted to bring onboard up to two (2) bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with the Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package.
  7. Did you have an alcohol package?
  8. Not sure about your statement that most CCers stay in suites. Do agree about budget and cabin selection is a very personal preference. My DH wants to stay in an outside cabin on Deck 3 on S class. I say no way - need my veranda! Never been in suite as can't bring myself to pay so much for a cabin.
  9. This is the one that was confiscated when boarding flight in Barcelona a few years back. Had made it thru carry on previously.
  10. if you are flying put corkscrew in checked luggage. I have had it confiscated. Okay to carry with you on ship. Have done this.
  11. We were on the first cruise with you and spent the next 5 days in LA with family. We have been to these places a few times but had a great time. Would have liked to connect with you but our only connection was at check-in. We were right behind you. As we do not book suite class, that is probably why we did no see you again. Perhaps we can meet up on the Apex TA in April but won't be in suite on this cruise either. We did a cruise out of Ensenada ending in Seattle a few years back with Celebrity. Checked in at the Hotel in San Diego. A bit chaotic but as we were Elite at the time, were able to get out on a early bus. Did not get lost and took about 2 hours. Got on ship and ended up in San Diego the next day. Happy holidays and a healthy New Year.
  12. I was on Solstice recently and did the Galley tour. Saw the Macarons being plated and asked about them. Was told it was for Suite passengers. Disappointed!
  13. We sail on the Apex in April and would only go with a Sunset Veranda with traditional balcony. Only other choice for true balcony is suite and I didn't want to pay the fare for that. Will be first time on E class.
  14. Thant would make sense. I have heard those doors slammed all morning long. Did not need a wake up call at 8 am.
  15. I am puzzled by this phenomenon. Have been in different SV on these S class ships, and don’t understand why the verandas are different sizes for same class cabin!
  16. interesting that you were able to board. We arrived with about an hour prior to departing and were denied boarding in San Diego some years ago. Had to fly down to Cabo to board ship 2 days later.
  17. Maybe one day we will sail in a suite. First time on an E class will be in SV on Apex in April. Have to have my actual veranda. Enjoying your review.
  18. It is a small place. Don’t need a lot of time as I recall. Check their hours of operation.
  19. Lost on iPad but sign out/in brought them back. Did not help on iPhone.
  20. Online that is the only way. Try calling to see if can do that or do the chat online.
  21. All show on app on iPad but not on iPhone at current time. Hopefully a temporary app issue for iphone.
  22. Have cruised 5 times since December 2021. Always have anytime dining and there are 2 of us. Never been asked if want to share as had been asked many years ago.
  23. Just got off Silhouette TA. Saw a couple we had cruised with on RC Brilliance of the Seas Baltic, August, 2019.
